DIAMOND SHAPED SPONGES - NO PRODUCT WASTE
- 03.20.10
Quick Take: perfect for difficult to reach places
I love Sephora's Diamond shaped sponges. I often try different sponges and applicators to determine which applicator (sponge, brush, puff, etc) helps me to get the best application of a product possible. I've been very happy with these diamond sponges, because the pointed ends get into places where bigger sponges cannot fit (like around my nose and eyes). Many products today do not come with applicators of any kind, and these are a great solution. They work well with tinted moisturizers and bronzers, too and even cream eye shadows. (I cut them to the size I want). What I really like is that the foam is dense enough that the product doesn't sink too deep into the foam. Cheaper sponges have a tendency to have too many holes, or even tiny air spaces, and product is wasted that way. These sponges hold the exact amount that's needed, with little waste.
These sponges are temporarily out of stock at the time of this review. I was just about to order some more. I suggest you buy them as soon as they become available because they're difficult to find.

Love These!
- 03.17.10
Quick Take: synthetic
Super sanitary and portable. Great extra to squish in your compact if it didn't come with a brushe, especially when you don't have the time or space to pack your special brushes or you simply forgot them. Very smooth application in a pinch. Great for buffing. I bought the round.

this product is good because most of the product actually goes into the face and doesnt entirely sink into the sponge like most do...... I would definitely buy again:)

Not so great sponges
- 03.14.10
Quick Take: angled
The sponges were a little over priced! I was wiling to splurge because I know they work really well. When I used the sponges for the 1st time I was really disappointed. They are not absorbent and the shape does not work for me.

These sponges are great when it comes to using them in the Sephora Matifying Compact Foundation D30 but don't recommend you use them on liquid foundation or compact foundation it doesn't leave a smooth finish.

Dissatified /Do you have something better?
- 02.20.10
Sponges were too compact to apply cream foundation which became so enmeshed in sponge that nothing adhered to skin.

It makes a difference
- 02.19.10
Quick Take: angled
I knew I could get cosmetic applicator sponges for less money at the drug store, but I decided to try Sephora's brand. I was plesantly surprised when I noticed they were of a higher quality sponge foam. I believe these will last a lot longer than the cheaper versions.

Not economical

Too much foundation wasted when using the sponge. I had to use double quantity to apply the same amount of foundation on my face. This sponge absorbs way too much liquid. Big deception.

I'm totally spoiled, because I'm used to using Laura Mercier sponges, so these fell short for me. They work a lot better if you wet them first. I use them to spread tinted moisturizer, btw.

Round Thin Sponge
- 02.10.10
I use these in my foundation/pressed powder combo compact. It's a great spongy texture, very smooth, not scratchy or uneven. It is white so it will pick up color but it is definitely sturdy enough to be washed and reused.

These sponges were not what I expected. They were non absorbent and rubbery. I was hoping for a nice absorbent sponge espeically since I dampen them before use.

a no-no
- 01.20.10
Quick Take: sponge
i expected these sponges to be able to make my make-up application easier, but it felt like i was using a plastic bag to spread foundation on my face. it does not distribute the foundation as well as the cheaper ones i got from shoppers drugmart, the make-up sits on it and it dries rather quickly [absorbs it?] ive used one the sponges twice and it already created a thick layer of make-up on the surface.there's make-up on the sponge but not on my face. SO yea if i could give half a star i would.

Don't waste your money or your foundation!
- 01.03.10
Quick Take: foam
These have got to be the cheapest sponges I have ever purchased!... I have wasted alot of foundation and it just soaks into the sponge and very little comes off on your face.. I finally gave up before I wasted a whole tube of foundation. Very disappointed. If I lived closer, I would have already taken them back.
