Quick Take: elegance defined, appealing yet subtle, like nothing else you'll ever experience
I have loved this scent for almost thirty years. The first time it was on my new, elegant surgeon boyfriend. He had exquisite taste and this scent is not for the unsophisticated. It is truly very dramatic yet not overpowering. It isn't one of those oceany or woody notes. It is like Cary Grant in a bottle. Sexy yet refined. Even I enjoyed wearing a dab of it occasionally!

Quick Take: very masculine
My husband and son have been using this fragrance for over 25 years. It smells wonderful on both of them and they get comments about how good they smell from perfect strangers! I have been having problems finding it in Calgary as all I hear is it is an old scent. Maybe so but it is the only men's fragrance that does not give me or them a headache.

In searching for a new fragrance for my husband, I've been testing Givenchy's men's fragrances and have found so many of them are woodsy, which is an aroma that neither my husband or myself are fond of. Givenchy Gentlemen is one of those woodsy fragrances. I didn't find it repulsive, but it is not a fragrance that I would buy for my husband. I would recommend giving it a try before buying.

Quick Take: outstanding and subtle, 5
I have used this fragrance for over 20 years it has a delicate woodsy scent and it is loved by women. They always comment on my scent and it stays with you even after 5Pm in the evening. It is not sweet or overpowering like the new fragrances it is a fragrance for men not boys.

i have been wearing givenchy gentleman since it first hit the market. i happen to put on some of the sample of givenchy inside the store and left out and as reached outside the wind blew the fragrance into nostril with a fragrent of enlightment and i turn around quickly to go back to purchase a bottle of it essence. i have been wearing it ever since. it never fails, men and womens ask me what it is that you wear. my only regret, that its so difficult find now.

CAught a whiff of this out shopping one day and asked what it was. Now I'm on my second bottle. Smells very smooth and velvety. A fragrance for older guys; not like some of the citrus bright fragrances, this is darker and much fuller.
