Now that I am over 50 this former make-up junkie, still has a very healthy interest in makeup, but demands more from her investment. I have sensitive, watery eyes almost year-round. This product is comfortable, but still seems to lack volume - even when using more than one coat.

Quick Take: worthless
This is the worst - the WORST - mascara I've ever used. It has flaked all over my face by noon. And just to be sure I hate it there are big globs on the brush when applying. Save your money.

I bought the waterproof and waterproof it is not! The only way this would last the 16 hours is running down my face! I much prefer Lancome's Definicil brand.

Hypnose waterproof has the unique ability of being extremely waterproof and difficult to remove completely while still being exceptionally flaky. If you're interested in just a few hours of wear for a specific event, then this mascara should meet your needs. But if you need an all-day mascara, I recommend looking elsewhere.

Quick Take: defining, holds a curl
I just got this a couple days ago, and it's so far the best mascara I've ever used. I have short, sparse, and straight Asian lashes, and previously used Stila's waterproof mascara. Lancome's mascara goes on smoothly, does not clump, and holds a curl well. The brush shape is very good, as well. Personally, I don't find it very volumizing, but that may be because my lashes aren't voluminous to begin with. It does define my lashes well, however, and I will definitely purchase it again when this tube runs out.

I was saddened when Shiseido Lasting Lift and Laura Mercier Waterproof Mascara were discontinued. One of the staff recommended this to me. It's perfect for daily use and can be layered for a more dramatic effect.

I should have worn it more often before I commented below, but it's quite a difficult mascara! It's perfect for swimming and beach time fun, but regular daytime use is a no no. It dries down too fast so you can't build and if you try, you're left with clumpy lashes. You need a good oil-based makeup remover to clean lashes or else your stuck! Literally! This stuff sticks to my lashes like glue. If you're going surfing/swimming or doing any water activity and still want to look cute and innocent... this is the perfect formula!!! The brush applicator is mediocre.

I bought this mascara in May for my wedding, best i have used in a long time. I dont use it everyday only because it is waterproof and it is very difficult to get off, and i hate when my lashes fall out from having to rub so much when i remove it. BUT this holds my curled lashes all day long!!!! and gives me the perfect amount of volume and buildability. I can curl my lashes before applying it and they stay curled and beautifully fanned out. just gorgeous.

2 stars for being water proof and hold a curl. I'm just not sure you need to spend over $20 for a waterproof mascara when drug stores have ones that are just as good, or even better (the volume this mascara gives is "meh"). Plus, you will be throwing it out in 3months...

I have been a Chanel mascara wearer for way to long. I have really, really long eyelashes so most mascaras weigh them down. I have tried almost every Mascara that I can think of. It was until recently that I tried the new Hypnose Waterproof eyeliner that I found one that worked even better than Chanel. I love this mascara ! If you have long eyelashes that are hard to hold a curl you owe it to yourself to try this Mascara!

I have short eyelashes that naturally gradually curl... all I need is definition and length and so far Lancome mascaras ARE THE BEST I HAVE EVER TRIED! and I have tried plenty: Armani/Hourglass/Covergirl/Dior/YSL/Guerlain and while YSL Faux Cil comes close, Lancome Hypnose/Drama/Waterproof formula and brush are by far the best for lengthening and defining my lashes. After 10 years I think I found my mascara

I am used to using the "are they real" mascara from benefit. I bought this new one because I needed something waterproof for the pool and it's a pain taking off eye makeup to go in... but now, i seem to wear it all the time, even on days that i know I won't be going in the pool. It stays on all day. The brush is not as great as the benefit mascara but this lancome hypnose gives my lashes more volume (thicker.. not so much longer) than the benefit.

Cry-Proof!

I bought this masacra right after my dad passed away because I knew that I would need a waterproof mascara to not smudge or drip right off when I cried. I was recommended by a sales associate to try the Make Up Forever, Smoky Lash. However, the Smoky Lash would come off when I wiped my tears. So, I was recommended the Lancôme, Hypnôse Waterproof - Custom Volume Mascara, which was supposedly swim-proof. Boy-oh-boy, this mascara EXCEEDED my expectations! Unlike the Smoky Lash, Hypnôse stays on through anything! I can put this on in the morning and cry all day without it smudging off onto a tissue (ie. my dad's funeral)! It is amazing! Not only is it extremely durable, but it is also the best mascara to not clump (I've tried Smoky-Lash & Dior Show, which are dry, clumpy, and hard to apply because of their larger brushes)! Hypnôse goes on smoothly, especially with the help of it's small brush. If you accidently get it on your eyelid or under your brow, which I always do, just lick your finger and wipe it off. I get so many compliments on my eyelashes and all I do is curl them and apply two coats of Hypnôse. I have attached photos of me with each of the Smoky Lash and Hypnôse mascaras. I assume that the Smoky Lash looks more faint than the Hypnôse because of it's dryness. Therefore, making it harder to stick to the lashes, while the Hypnôse is more wet and holds onto the lashes no problem. P.S. I have gone swimming while wearing Hypnôse and it actually stayed put! I was a little worried after going swimming and sitting in the hot-tub 12 hours after applying it (8am-8pm), and I was very eager to check my face in a mirror. However, there was no reason for me to fear because this mascara does what it says it's going to do. I will never use another mascara, even if this one takes a little extra work to remove. An extra minute (literally one minute), is worth having a mascara that stays put through anything. My next trial of this mascara is going to be an hour long hot yoga practice, but I have no doubts that it will stay put because I was sweating in the hot-tub and it didn't move. I will let you know how it goes. ;)

Best Waterproof Mascara

This mascara is waterproof, and stays on without smudging onto the undereye area. It has a fine brush, which seperates the lashes. It does not clump. It isn't thick, but natural looking. Love this!
