I needed a loose powder for my bridesmaid makeup last weekend. I've been shopping for it for almost 3 weeks and settled down with Laura Mercier loose powder... It became my HG for daily makeup or any special day makeup!! TRY AND FEEL IT YOURSELF!
I normally have not used face powder. Yes, it sets your foundation but it made my face look like a pancake in my opinion. Not Laura's. This powder is so finely milled that it glides on the skin giving a flawless finish without settling into fine lines and wrinkles. It's the only powder I use. I think I like the finish better with my Laura Mercier puff than a brush for daytime. Also is great over your Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer if you want a more natural look. I refill my Undercover Pot with the large size for travel. Sephora has Laura Mercier Flawless Face kits for $65.00. Do yourself a favor and get one. They are a bargin and you'll be in love with Laura Mercier products once you try them.
This product is exactly as described. The powder is incredibly soft, silky, and sheer. I wear it over LM's illuminating tinted moisturizer to simultaneously set my makeup while maintaining the glow from the other product.

I found the best way to apply this powder is to press it into my skin with a powder puff and then brush off excess with a big brush after my foundation is set. It controls my oil like no other. This is seriously the only powder I'll ever use!

I've been using this powder for years. It goes on very smoothly without clumping or creasing or being too cakey. It's light and doesn't end up in my "smile" wrinkles!!! Good stuff.

Colorless foundation setter- 11.09.09
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, translucent
I use this powder in translucent and love it over foundation for daytime - it does not shift the color of my foundation at all, which can be blaringly obvious in daylight. I prefer Nars loose powder over foundation at night because I prefer the extra coverage and oil control, but noticed that it makes my foundation look orangey in daylight. I'm very impressed by LM's setting powder and will continue to use it everyday.

Love LM Setting Powder- 11.03.09
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, sheer coverage, silk texture, not chalky
The powder is soft, translucent in color, and without perfumes. The result when applied is a perfect setting powder without "chalkiness" or excessive whiteness that some powders leave behind. The silk texture of the powder is perfect. I look flawless, my foundation is set and I'm ready to go.
Also, regarding the dispenser - I shake the container with the lid on and this gives me just enough powder on the surface to pick up with my powder brush.

Very light powder. Directions are to press it into the skin but I found that this method accentuates fine lines. I prefer to dust it on very lightly. Transparent color does not affect color of foundation.

This setting powder does a wonderful job of setting make up. I use it over my concealer and it keeps my concealer in place AND keeps my mascara from smudging onto the under eye area -- this has been a big problem for me in the past but hardly ever happens any more. Also put this over my make up and it keeps my blush, etc. lasting and my face from getting oily. In the past I wouldn't leave the house without concealer, powder, etc. in my purse but my makeup is now staying in place so well that I've been venturing out with only lipstick in my bag.

I LOVE IT- 10.20.09
This is the first setting powder I have used that didn't leave my skin greasier than it started. It actually leaves my face really matte and makes it look so fresh without looking cakey. Also, for once, this is the first powder that actually is translucent and doesn't make my face look pastey and ghostly. The container is quite large and worth the price
