I have dry skin so anything that says mattifying is a no no! This powder is amazing for setting my makeup and does not dry me out. I use it sparingly so that I still have a natural glow. Doesn't look chalky or have a white cast in photographs!

Quick Take: oil-absorbing, reduces shine
I love this product. It works very well with setting my under eye concealer and it does a great job highlighting. I have oily skin and it does a great job mattifying the excess oils in my T-zone. I originally bought this product to use for "special occasions" and "date nites" but I find I am using it daily because I love the way it looks on my face :-)

This powder is my beauty staple. It is as exactly described--a lightweight, silky, light weight setting powder. Also great for toning down those times when you've put on too much blush. I've been using this powder for probably 2 years now.

I have used cheap, drugstore translucent powder for many years, believing it didn't make a difference. However, as I have entered my late 50's, I was feeling like I needed all the help I could get. After reading lots of reviews, I chose this Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder.
OMG!!! What a HUGE difference! It truly softens my face SO much...it is absolutely incredible.
I think you really DO get what you pay for!!!

Beat setting powder

I love this setting powder. It's so fine and sheer but when set with the LM powder puff to press it into my foundation it sets perfectly. I have very oily skin and have tried a lot of different techniques and using the powder puff to press this into my face works the best. I still follow with a make up setting spray and my foundation won't break down all day.

Quick Take: sheer coverage
Don't buy this if you're looking for oil control. My nose is extremely oily and this didn't do anything. I was shinier a lot faster than I am when I use a drugstore powder that's a fraction of the price. In fact, I think this made me even oilier. However, on the rest of my face where my skin is normal, it was quite pleasant and set my makeup nicely.

This came in the camouflage pot and I love the way it sets my concealer and makes my face look velvety and flawless. However, I only like the way it looks when I apply it with the stiff-ish brush that came in the kit. When I use the powder puff to apply it the finish is too heavy and cakey.

Quick Take: a must for the final touch to your face.
I sampled this powder on my hand and loved the texture and soft sheen. So silky smooth between my fingers, I dapped some on the tip of my nose and that was it - had to buy it! Of course, I had already read all the reviews, as I usually do before purchasing any product so I went in to Sephora knowing I would buy it. Tones down oil and leaves a soft glow to my face - not oily looking, love it!
