I really like this foundation and it goes on well with my dry skin. I think it is still thicker than I need so I mix it with Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer.

Best Foundation
I'm a fashion model with mild acne. But for a model, acne is a MAJOR issue. Laura Mercier makes the BEST products in the world. I've worked with Laura before on her most recent spring campaign and fell in love with this foundation. Its thick enough for even coverage but light enough to avoid that awful sorority girl cake face look.
Plus, its silky smooth and gets people complimenting me on my AMAZING skin.
I always laugh when I hear that one! Laura Mercier is my secret!

Quick Take: good for oily skin
I tried the Laura Mercier foundation because it was recommended in a magazine. It goes on a bit dry, but if you have oily skin, it looks good all day and your face never looks or feels oily.

The texture is like velvet and there is a good selection of colors. Although the product is oil-free, my skin did look a bit oily mid day.

This is a great product because it can be used as a sheer natural finish or layered for a more full coverage. It is very creamy and moisturizing; however it did make my t-zone a little oily later in the day. Overall I really like this product because it provides a natural finish.

I first got this foundation when I was in D.C. during the summer. A Sephora sales rep introduced me to this foundation bc it was oil free since tend to get super oily by mid-day. To my surprise, it performed very well in the humidity that D.C. had to offer. I'm back in California now and still use the foundation. There is a confidence bonus knowing that this make up has been through both coasts and can hold up in any weather. I wear it when I know I'll be sweating in the LA 90 degree sun and I also know that it has endured the extreme humidity and swamps of D.C. . My mom has since started using it and loves it for being able to cover her sun spots and freckles. It really does provide amazing luminous coverage. I've also since then, given up my mineral make up.

I think of myself as a realist- I know there is no such thing as the PERFECT foundation- but some try to come close. This fails miserably! I hold Laura Mercier to a high standard, this is why I would pay just about any price for makeup- after all, our face is the first thing people see (unless you're wearing some hideous outfit). I do take in to account, we all have different experiences but for me personally, with normal skin- it's not too much to ask for! Oily! Yellow tint that leaves you mesmerized trying to figure out what it is and how to get it off and the layering is out of control! It DOES cake- I have the right lighting and I'm no fool!

Great Foundation- 10.25.09
I love this foundation! I use vanilla beige and it's the perfect color, especially since it is made to be layered. I use the Laura Mercier sponge and dampen it, then apply (once if it's for day and twice if it's for nighttime) to my face. Just great and doesn't break me out.

I don't wear foundation everyday, but I do like it for evenings and when I just need some extra coverage. This is a very nice foundation, blends in nicely, offers a nice amount of coverage without feeling heavy. Also, a little goes a long way! I have to make sure I just pump once and go back as needed, as it can be easy to over do it since you don't need a lot with this one, which is nice since it is pricer than some other brands, I felt like I was getting a lot for my money!

I tried this foundation for about a month and have to say I don't really like it. It didn't really blend in that well with my skin (texture wise not the color) so it was always pretty obvious I was wearing makeup. The coverage wasn't that great either. I don't think I would buy this again.

I bought this foundation because it won the Allure Magazine Best of Beauty 2009 award for Best Foundation for Combination Skin. I am used to dropping $40 for a foundation so I was not surprised at the price - but for those who are leary, it is worth it. This foundation has great buidable coverage and stays all day. I wear Smashbox oil free primer underneath. The only downside is: this is NOT creamy and does not go on the skin smoothly like I thought it would. However, it in no way affects the performance of the makeup; it is just a weird, unexpected feeling while applying. Buy this!

Thick, heavy and dries quickly- 10.10.09
This product needs to be thinned out with a little bit of moisturizer because it goes on really thick. Full strength it dries so quickly it is virtually impossible to blend with a brush and the full coverage was quite heavy. Overall, I was disappointed with this product.

I found out about this foundation from the Tyra Show - this is the brand she uses. I had to try it. I did and I absolutely love this Oil free foundation. Even better than my MAC foundation. I have very oily skin and have been searching for a foundation that would not only look natural but would still look good after a long day of wear. I found it in this Laura Mercier foundation. As a woman of color I found the perfect match.
