Buy this brush if you want to tight line. I put it off forever, not wanting to spend the money. But it's worth it, and with a little practice, it'll change your life. Tight lining is amazingly easy and makes such a huge difference. Buy this brush and the tight line eyeliner. I can't recommend it enough.

Quick Take: laura mercier flat eye liner long
This will place shadow in such a way that when you look in the mirror you'll see the effect of your eyeliner - but it doesn't look like makeup. It just looks perfect. Moisten the brush, grab a bit of any cake liner (I use Laura Mercier Pewter or Black Ebony. The trick is to line the inner lid. I walked out of Sephora without purchasing the brush, figuring I could make this work with a brush already in my arsenal. Wrong. Bought the brush online and I'm glad I did. Try it; you really will like it.

I purchased this brush to use with the Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eyeliner. It is flat and slim and exactly what you want to do a tightline. (line the eyes in the lash line. It gets between the lashes and deposits color at the roots to give you a dramatic look) I think this brush would also work well doing a regular line with any gel eyeliner that comes in a pot.

This is my first brush purchase that is of better quality, I have never spent 20 dollars on a single brush before and was nervous. I bought this brush to use with the Laura Mercier cake tightiner and I LOVE it! Not only am I new to tightlining but I am also new to makeup brushes and I am very pleased! I highly recommend.

If you are looking for a really thin line precision brush this is it. I like the angled eyeliner brush for gel liner perhaps a bit better, but this is also a useful too. Especially for the daytime look because it does not put too much on, however you can build darker if needed.

Quick Take: superior, amazing
I have four eyeliner brushes: an angled brush, a wider flat brush, a thin traditional brush, and this flat brush. This Laura Mercier brush is the one I reach for day after day. The bristles are cohesive and of great quality. Gel eyeliner easily washes out and the brush retains its shape. What more could a girl ask for in a brush?

I have other flat brushes, but I bought this specifically for tightlining. It's soft, but holds it's shape well as I'm applying the product to the upper lash line. I wash it every other day and it's held up well.

I have a large brush collection. This makes my top 10. I use this everyday with a black or dark brown eyeshadow. I push the color into my lashline and it creates the illusion of fuller lashes. Ive tried other cheaper versions of this type of brush and it never works out. This brush stands up to multiple washings and uses while still retaining its shape.

Quick Take: synthetic hair, perfect for eyeliner
This is the perfect brush for eyeliner. I have other similar brushes that are cheaper, and they just aren't as good. I often find the bristles aren't perfectly straight or shed on cheaper brushes. This gives me a perfect straight line for eyeliner, when I use it with a gel eyeliner, or a dark powder eyeshadow. I'm glad I bought this, and will be using it a lot. Synthetic bristles so works on cream & powder products.

I love this eyeliner brush. However NEVER use the tightline activator. This is nasty stuff and ruins the brush plus shortens the life of the liner. They need to take this off the market

Quick Take: soft bristles
Well, the bristles are great. I think it really depends on what you're using the brush for. Since it is an eyeliner brush, I find the shape of it inefficient. It just doesn't give you the ability to work on details like a finer brush could. Returned it.

The best tighliner brush I've found

Quick Take: synthetic hair, firm but soft bristles
best brush for tightlining. Bristles are firm but don't hurt if you hit your waterline instead of between the lashes. Much better than cheaper brushes I own. I also have the travel size. Only needs a light touch to apply the Mercier cake eyeliner / tightliner.

This brush lets you apply the finest of lines - or you can dab it on to just get a hint of liner. I wouldn't be without it. You can apply it right next to the lashes so that it doesn't smudge or wipe off.
