I recently purchased the Clinique Brow Shaper in Charcoaled and am very happy with the product. I have black hair which I frequently tint with brown and red hues; my eyebrows are black, although sparse in the middle and fuller on the outersides. Charcoaled looks great with these hair and eyebrow colors. I use a soft angled brush to apply the product as, as others have mentioned, the brow brush included in the kit is way too stiff and hard. The product goes on nicely with a soft finish; no harsh lines or overly dark color. You can choose to keep the color of your brows a softer gray/black or darker gray/black depending on how much product you apply and whether you wet the brush before applying. The finish appears very natural and does not look like obvious eyebrow makeup. Wonderful find and worth the investment for dark hair/eyebrow girls!

i have been using this product for years and absolutely love it. i'm asian and have sparse eyebrows, so it was always a challenge finding products that look natural. i've been using it in shade charcoaled and it provides a perfect, natural shade for my black hair. i used to use this along with benefit's she laq which was discontinued, but have since switched to model in a bottle eyebrow sealer and i find it works just as well.

I never knew how to do my brows. So as a started I was nervous to fill them in too dark. I think this is good, it can fill in light to darker. I naturally dont need to fill them in much, but this does the job. I have the color charcoaled, and i naturally have black hair.

Great for natural-looking brows

I've never been an over-plucker, or desired too structured of a brow. This powder is perfect for filling in the sparse spots, while still looking very natural. And, it's not a huge commitment - you can just fill in where you wish. Sometimes if I want more definition I use this along with my Anastasia pencil. But, for daily use it's great alone.

I love the Clinique Brow Shaper. I am dark brunette and use the charcoaled color. It blends in perfectly, goes on easily and stays on until I take it off. Doesn't bother my sensitive skin. I have very thin brows that don't grow in and this is a wonderful shaper and brow definer for me. The compact is nice but a little heavy to carry in my purse.

I am a brow enthusiast! I spend way too much of my getting ready time attempting to perfect my arches. I really wanted to love this, as a good taupe is super hard to find...but to no avail. The color looks good in the pan but chalky when applied... Also the brush that comes with is so so bad! The cheapo drugstore Milani sets even come with a better brush. Not impressed at all.

For me, this brow shaper works exactly like any matte eyeshadow. If you already have eyeshadow that matches your brow color, you can definitely do without this product. If not, it's a great option.
I bought the Clinique brow shaper because it was cheaper than others on the market. However, I ended up finding the most natural look by mixing charcoaled and shaping taupe. So, after buying 2 shades, it's not really cheaper anymore. However, if you can get the right color with one shade, I think this product is a well priced option. (Honestly, charcoaled on its own would work fine on my soft black brows. I'm just being a bit picky).
The only small complaint I have is that a layer of caked-together product forms on top after some use. It may be because I wet my brush before using. So far, it hasn't affect my ability to get the product out of the pan though.
I have black-brownish hair and soft black eyebrows. I use charcoaled with a bit of shaping taupe mixed in.

I have always had thick eyebrows. But since I turned 50 they have thinned out dramatically. This product works great, It doesnt smudge and looks completely natural. I will purschase more when this one runs out.

I am Asian and have a light-medium skin tone with black-brown hair. I bought this brow powder in charcoal and it is very striking. I wear it with a bright red gloss for a night out. The brush is plasticky and kind of hurts but gives a nicely defined brow. I would buy another brush though. If I wore it out in the day, I'd get a brownish colour instead.

The Charcoal color is perfect for my Asian, dark brown/black hair.
I've tried so many different eyebrow products for the past 6 years and this is by far my favorite. I've tried various mascaras, drugstore eyebrow pencils and gels, and expensive eyebrow kits. The short, stiff brush in the box makes this ridiculously easy to apply. Just use a cotton swab to clean it up. A little tip: I use my favorite dried out drugstore mascara tube to lightly brush over my eyebrow hairs to add to the natural look of my brows. I prefer my makeup to look as natural as possible and no one has ever noticed that I completely fill in my sparse, almost nonexistent Asian eyebrows.
It's even got some water resistance to it. It won't come off with a short dip in the pool.
I like darkening my brows when I go out at night as well and building pigment is not a problem. This little $15 case lasts forever! A little goes a long way. The brush gave out on me before I used up even half of the product!
It's a more affordable and highly comparable counterpart to Anatasia without the bells and whistles.

VERY nice product for those of us blessed with dark-yet-patchy eyebrows...now it looks like I have normal people brows. The brush is VERY stiff, which is taking some getting used to, but on the plus side, it kind of also acts as a tiny brow hairbrush. Also the case is mirrored, which is fun!

I liked the color and the case, but the brush that comes with it hurts! It's very very stiff and the edges are made of a cheap plastic! I just use a different brush and all is well. I like this product.

I have thick brows with thin spots. This product covers and blends nicely. It does not hold up as long as pencils, though. May need to reapply during a long day. Works best with brow gel over it.

I have reddish-brown hair and have been looking for a replacement for my Benefit Brow Zing in the auburn shade that they stopped producing years ago. I was so glad to see reviewers here say (mostly complaining) that the soft brown has reddish tones in it- a benefit for me! Although the powder isn't quite as red as I would like, it gives great coverage and stays all day just like it should! I apply with the Sephora brow brush. A very suitable replacement.

This is PERFECT, I can't even think of a single thing negative thing about it! The brush is great, and the powder lasts forever (I wear makeup every day; I've had this over a year and I've barely made an indent. It's going to last me years!). Great value and a stellar product!
If you want natural-looking brows, this is exactly what you need. I have black hair, so I use "charcoal" which is a very ashy brown. When going for natural brows, you want a brow powder that is:
-a few shades LIGHTER than your hair (unless you're blonde, in which case go a few shades darker)
-NOT very opaque/pigmented
-NOT very rich in color (you want ashy, neutral tones, not vibrant dark colors)
-NOT very opaque/pigmented

I mean, would I use a thick black kohl eyeliner on my eyebrows? no way! If you have brown hair, would you use a richly pigmented, vibrant brown eyeshadow? no! For a brow powder, you essentially want something that creates a soft, ashy shadow to fill in the areas between your actual eyebrow hairs--and this does exactly that. The color is definitely buildable--you can still create strong, bold brows without it looking overly fake.
(my brow routine: I fill them in with this powder, then lightly use an eyebrow wax was to hold any stray hairs in place)

I originally bought this in 2009 and I am just now reordering another one. It has lasted me three years and I use it everyday. You cannot beat this for value. I have looked everywhere to find a comparable product and it is just not out there. This is the only brow definer that I use. Even the brush that comes with it is wonderful!
