Quick Take: not as expected
The colors that arrived weren't even remotely close to what was on my computer. Sorry, but this was a useless purchase for me. Next time, I will go to the Sephora store.

Quick Take: smooth, neutral, easy to apply, good value
I had been looking for a small palette of neutrals that had a warm golden tone. I don't wear neutral colors often and I didn't want to spend a lot on one. This one was perfect. Had all the colors and tones I was looking for as well as a very compact size, large mirror, and simple instructions.

Good warm colors

Quick Take: warm colors, easy for various looks
I got a sample of Clinique's eye shadows from my Aunt.
The colors were very rich and warm, but too shimmery for my taste. Depending on your look, you can go for a soft & sweet, or dark & daring. They took a little while to blend, but I should have had a better primer on! All in all, they are good for the price and quality!
Tip: Never EVER use a sponge brush, overtime your delicate eyelids will be rough and wrinkled. Always use a soft eye brush!

Quick Take: portable, good value, blendable, natural-look
I bought Clinique Color surge eye shadow quad in 'Teddy Bear' and it is my all time favorite eye shadow palate. The colors are creamy and have great coverage, plus they blend well not only with each other, but with all of my other eye shadows. I like to use this palate every day and I enjoy using it as a base for my other shadows as well.

I bought this in the blue-toned colors because I didn't have anything like it and really wanted a sparkly look for the holidays that wasn't so dark. All of these colors work so well together and are beautiful for creating a multi-dimensional eye that isn't super dark. The pattern they give for applying the shadow is very handy as well. It's nice to get away from the neutral browns that I normally pick.
Also, as compared to some of my other palettes, this one is very small and portable.

Quick Take: portable, good value
I like makeup but i'm not exactly good at it. The pink chocolate eyeshadow quad has a good selection of colors that complement my work attire without being in-your-face. I can create a number of work-appropriate looks with one quad, or zazz it up for a night out.

Pros and Cons of Teddy Bear

Quick Take: portable, natural-looking (teddy bear), not highly-pigmented (teddy bear), matte (teddy bear)
I bought the Teddy Bear because I wanted a matte palette that's small enough to be portable. I think I looked at ALL the small palettes and ALL the matte palettes Sephora carries (I'm not kidding: I searched on line several times and went to numerous large and small Sephora stores); this came closest to meeting both needs. It's okay, though I'm still wishing for the perfect portable matte palette.

• colors need to be more pigmented (I find I have to pass the brush over the color more times than with others I've used)
• #2 & 3 need some oomph; yes, this is a neutral palette, but a hint of pink or coral or something is needed (I considered Spicy and Choco-latte, which may have that missing oomph, but they're not matte)
• not very build-able: good for a natural, flattering-enough daytime look, but (a) would be more flattering with a bit more color in the middle shades and (b) I don't think you could add much drama for evening with these colors.

Quick Take: not worth the ptice tag of $27.00
The texture is velevety and the color shimmery, but that is all this eye shadow has going for it. The colors are so light ad similar you can barely tell them apart. It looks like you just have a snoball color on your eyes with no definition of any of the colors.

Quick Take: portable, good value, gorgeous, convenient, pigmented, lasting
wow. this is a great eye shadow quad for an everyday simple look. Its great Because i'm always on the go and it is very travel friendly. The colors are neutral, pigmented, and just what I need for a busy mom. I like the fact that it is basically matte. It it truly wonderful.

Quick Take: good value, expensive but worthwhile
I've been buying Clinique for years, since my aunt bought me my first makeup for a pre-teen birthday. I'm happy to report that Clinque's quad eyeshadows now include a makeup-by-number guide on the inside mirror. I find that extremely helpful, since I'm not very intuitive about makeup application.
I love the Choco-latte quad set, specifically the golden shade. I've received many compliments about that shade.
