I love benefit and it was honestly what first got me shopping at Sephora, which is now the only place I buy any make up. BUT this doesn't really feel like it does any plumping and while it DOES give a nice smooth look to my lipstick rather than showing a couple grooves....I feel like my color doesn't stay NEARLY as long as it does without this! That's the exact opposite of the advertisement. Maybe I'm applying too much or something perhaps help me out with it. But I feel a swipe of chapstick could do as much as this does for me when I wear lipstick.

Quick Take: drying
Wasn't sure what to expect with this product. I went to Sephora just to browse and didn't want to leave empty handed so bought this. It shouldn't be called Lip Plump because it definately does not plump lips. It isn't moisturizing at all either. The only use I've found for this is if I want a quick nude look, I'll apply this with a gloss over it. Won't be buying again.

Lip Plump prepares your lips for lipstick. It takes the edge off of too dark lipsticks and though it actually doesn't make the lips larger, it keeps the lipstick from bleeding and makes my lips appear much smoother. I've used it for many years along with other Benefit products.

Another winner from Benefit!
I only have to put three dabs on each lip (the box says two but I have big lips) and I'm good for the day!
It does dry a bit and I don't find that it plumped my lips any more.
I will re-purchase in the future for the lasting power. :)

I can honestly say this is the BEST lip product I have ever spent my money on! I bought this product looking for something to neutralize my lip color, because i naturally have darker toned lips, and i like wearing very bright pink shades. The Benefit Lip Plump has exceeded my expectations, giving me very full coverage, while maintaining the moisture in my lips. Before this product I used concealer or foundations to nude my lips over- for all the ladies out there that also have this issue, buy the Benefit Lip Plump! You won't regret it!

I purchased Benefit's lip plumper when the line was relatively new. There was a product you could use that would enhance your lips, really make them very noticeable. Nothing wrong with that, but once you came home and took off your makeup including the lipstick you had to wear over it, not an answer to a thin lip problem. I haven't used Benefit's lip plumper for years.

First things first, you must read the instructions before applying. Yes, if you apply this directly to your lips like a lipgloss, it will appear too thick and tacky. However, if you dot on and let dry, (apply following directions) this is a good lip primer.
I love nude glosses, but having very pink lips, the color always looks a little off. This primer helps my lip color look like is does in the tube when it finally gets on my lips. It also does plump a little, and I like that. Is is a lipgloss? No. So, its not going to be super moisturizing. It is more on the dry side. (It needs to dry before you can apply lip color over it.) I just apply a light balm beforehand, and that seems to work pretty well.
I really like this product. I would recommend it to any who can follow directions. =]

I don't understand why this gets good reviews. It goes on thick and gets very dry. The color makes any lipstick I use look much lighter. It doesn't do any plumping and it feels uncomfortable on my lips. Hard to work with and makes it difficult to use lip liner too.

I purchased this because I found a couple of colors I really liked in regular lipstick, but I typically use long-wearing kind. I didn't notice any plumping, but I did notice that it changed the color of the lipstick which defeated my purpose.

Gave it two stars because it does make your lips nude and works with any color lipstick. However, that's about all it is good for. Definitely a tacky texture and really dries out your lips. No lip plumping benefit and didn't really see any more extension of color than normal. Isn't worth this price just to get a nude looking lip.

a strange plumping/priming combination..I almost returned it and, then I just dotted on and when dry, applied lipstick and saw a change in fullness in my lips. works better than expected.

I LOVE this stuff! I have sensitive lips so I can't just throw on some concealer like a lot of girls can. This product is amazing! It does not irritate my lips (it may even help) AND it gives me that NUDE (like the shoe color) lip I want! Also it does wear off BUT evenly so you don't end up looking crazy! AND a little really does do the job!

Did they change the formula? It USED to completely wipe my lips out and used to make the perfect plump canvas to apply any shade i wanted! It is like a watery concealer and the lipliner (makeup forever waterproof) does not apply overtop.Granted I did not try any other lipliner but it was a huge disaster even before the lipliner was attempted.I even waited for it to set before trying. Too watery. I'll just stick to concealer and a lip plumping gloss.

Although I really like this product as a lip primer, I don't really think it plumps up your lips. It does make them smoother. That being said, I also use it sparingly as an eye primer and sometimes a dot under the eye when I have dark circles. Just a drop does the trick. Wish it were a little less expensive, as I use it every day.

I love this product. It does help plump up my lips and I wear it alone for a nude color lip color and add just a gloss on top for a real natural look . It is great for a quick, fresh look , even if you are older like me....enjoy
