I have relaxed hair and I use this when ever I need to detangle or refresh my hair after a braidout. Also the smell is lovely sort of like vanilla cake.

Fabulous for styling

Have used this product for years on my daughter's very fine but kinky curly hair. It smells HEAVENLY and I use it as a styling aid anytime I put her hair in ponytails to smooth flyaways. My older daughter uses it occasionally on her very thick, slightly wavy hair. She doesn't use conditioner as her hair gets oily so this is a great light product to spray on after shampooing. I don't like to use products with lots of synthetic ingredients and this is perfect for our needs!

I have naturally curly hair that is the bane of my existance. This helps. I use it on wet/damp hair and on dry to refresh my curls if I've frizzed during the day. And it smells delicious!

I bought this because it's "supposed" to be part of the moisturizing line. This does not moisturize my hair at all. Not even a little bit. I would have been better off spraying my hair with water. Seriously, whatever they added to this stuff turned my hair into an unmanagable, poof ball. After trying to comb it through I ended up looking like I'd just stuck my finger in a light socket. I'm just grateful I used it on my off day, so I had time to wash it out. For reference, my hair is very soft, with coarse roots and springy curly ends.The smell isn't all that great either, it smells like watered down vanilla extract.

For how much this is, I don't feel like its that great. But I tried it, because who doesn't want their hair to smell like vanilla? Maybe I'm cheap, maybe my hair is too damaged, but I don't feel like it did that much for me. Nothing better or different than a product I could pick up at any big box store for half the price or less. I was a little disappointed overall

I sprayed it... and brushed through... And wow!!!! Smooth, soft and I can tell right away.... My hair was so "in love" with this product!!!! My hair was so soft after I dried my hair and styled it.... It reminded me of when my hair was so healthy when I was younger!!! before I placed any chemicals, color, perm... You name it!!!! My hair was acting like it was completely healed!!!! Wow!!! This is a miracle!!! LOVE IT!!! And you don't need that much... Worth the price... It will last me a long time!!!! Very happy! :) I have very thick, curly, dry, African American hair... Thank you!!!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! I am so glad I bought it! :)

My hair is straight, but thick & there is a lot of it. This is great right after washing my hair. It adds a little moisture to my hair, helps to detangle it all while not weighing down my hair. If you have really dry hair, this may not be moisturizing enough for you. I love it & it works well for me.

I wanted to love this product, but no. Just no. I have frizzy/dry, medium wavy hair and was really hoping it could help lock in moisture. But it seemed like too much for my hair, I guess? Like, it would really weight it down & it made my hair feel oily and gross. I just didn't have a good reaction with it, unfortunately. But I did like the way it smells, so that's a plus.

I didn't really like this product. Though the product smells great, I was not at all satisfied with the amount of moisture this product provided for my kinky hair. It kept it "moisturized" only for the duration of me styling my hair and my hair was dry all over.

I have to say I'm a little disappointed in this product. It barely conditions and it definitely doesn't untangle. I won't be buying this product again. The scent it very overwhelming as well, I'm not a fan.

I don't just love Carol's Daughter products I adore them! I have previously used their Tui leave in conditioner, and loved it but my bf hated the scent (he was the only one though and I thought it smelled wonderful). So trying to be kind to him (and promote bathroom bliss) I decided to try the Black Vanilla... I will never ever buy another leave-in conditioner again. Not only is the product absolutely amazing and leaves my hair silky and soft, but it smells amazing all day. I have gotten so many compliments on my new perfume... Except its not perfume it's my hair and it smells and looks AMAZING!

I wanted to love this product but unfortunately, it's not what I thought it was going to be. I don't find that it moisturizes my hair at all, in fact I find it leaves my hair even drier and frizzy. I have medium length hair and was hoping it would help w/ detangling as well as adding moisture but it doesn't help with the detangling either. I thought maybe I was combing my hair too soon after spraying it on, so I've waited longer after I spray it on before I comb thru and it's still the same result... knotted! The only positive thing I can say is that it does smell delicious! It's called Black Vanilla, but I actually think it smells more like coconut, than vanillla....like a suntan lotion. It might work for some people, but just not for me.

Quick Take: for natural hair or curly weaves
If your a natural gal and need a product to use throughout the day to re-wet and add moisture to your hair, this is a great pick. Its light, yummy vanilla smell, really does leave the hair soft. I have in a weave, and i use it after ive detangled the hair. i just rather finish off with it because of the scent and ease when braiding in the hair for the night.

Vanilla? I smell no vanilla or any other desirable scent for that matter. I purchased the shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner. None of them smell like vanilla. Bottles are not worth price point, no way no how.
