Sorry - I couldn't resist the corny pun. Tarte has a non-drippy stain and a beautiful gloss to go over the stain once it's dry - a few seconds. You are left with subtle color that stays.

Really nice color. Very fresh looking. However the gloss hurts. The salesperson said, "oh thats the gloss smoothing out your fine lines." If God didn't smooth out my fine lines, I don't think Tarte will. Perhaps it will be better when I don't have wintery chapped lips. Anyway, love the color and will continue to use the stain side.

OMg My favorite lipstain ever!- 03.04.10
Quick Take: non-drying, long lasting, glossy, nice taste
It looks so natural and the color lasts all day. I've used other lipstains and this is by far my favorite. Plus it has a pleasant taste, while other lipstains tend to taste like chemicals. So glad I bought it. I'll be a fan forever!

Quick Take: drying
I purchased this product for the first time and really had troubles getting it to work like it should. The stain didn't have a nice texture and dried my lips out, the gloss was okay but I didn't like the texture of it either. Won't purchase this product again.

I don't really like the color, it's sticky and it doesn't last. I purchased this product because it was suggested to me by sephora online when I answered the questionare that is available on line. I've only used this once or twice and don't plan on using it again.

This stuff doesn't last very long at all, but most disappointing is the ugly color. It's so bright and candy colored it looks like lipstick for children. The color I tried was Nectar.

LOVE the gloss..not crazy about the stain. "nectar" is bright pink and has to be re-applied every hour or so. however its a good deal if you want some color, but don't want to deal with the maintenance of a lipstick or sticky lipgloss. boyfriend loves it.

This lip stain and gloss duo was better than I expected! The stain lasts longer than any other I've tried and the gloss is a pretty shade of pink and isn't super gooey looking/feeling. The only thing I would say is that I wish it came with more gloss! Also, the stain has a yummy vanilla/marshallow/cream soda kinda smell unlike many other stains that have a gross chemical smell, blech. Maybe the stain color I got would be a little bright for some other ppl, but it has that young, fun feel that I like! =) 5 stars!

I have been looking for a lip stain that I could were at work, at the bars...anywhere...I am so greatful that the Sephora sells rep helped me out in finding this gem. I like the option of not using the gloss. Sometimes it is just too stick for driving with the windows down in the car.

I ordered this product online and awaiting for it in anticipation. The second I received the package I tried the color on. First of all, by no means is this a cherry red AT ALL. It is more of a deep, black cherry (purple-y, red-y). The color is absolutely beautiful but definitely more of a blackberry/black cherry then a true red/cherry. The formula lasts about 3 hours perfectly, and then progressively starts to crack/fade. The plumping gloss is fabulous and makes lips looks so succulent!!! At first disappointed by the color-I am now in love with it!!!!!!!!!!! Warning: just don't apply to dry/cracked lips-WILL ENHANCE CRACKS!

Cherry is described as Candy Apple Red and shown as a clear red color. The reality is that Cherry, once applied, has a LOT of blue in it. It's not a true red by any stretch of the imagination.

Awful Color- 12.03.09
I think they must have gotten mine mixed up, I ordered cherry and it was a very dark purple, not at all like the picture or the other reviews, I am returning it today.
