Quick Take: non-drying, long lasting, great alone ot layereed with a quick gloss
I am a lip stain fanatic! this one is awesome! I dont like to reapply all day, and because I am an RN i rarely have time to "touch up." It dries nicely the color is fabulous, and you can add a touch of blistex or even a cute gloss but the stain remains. One of my faves!

I bought the Envious shade and love it. One application looks fresh and natural, while, with some layering, you can end up with a bolder fuschia color. I think the trick to having the tint last longer is to apply after brushing your teeth and patting your lips dry. The dryness in the lips soaks up the color better. Once the stain is completely dry, you'll be able to tell because your lips will no longer be sticky, I recommend a light application of lip balm or else your lips will be a little dry. You can get a more vibrant color with this lip stain than others due to it being a gel. It doubles well as a cheek tint. You'll want to keep this in your purse to reapply and the vanilla scent makes it a pre makeout session must have.

This lip stain has great staying power, smells and tastes great, and is versatile. The ability to layer the color is fantastic so you can easily use it for day or night looks.

why cant they come up with a decent lip stain? this was expensive, and it is truly a poor product. applies unevenly, wears off quickly. forget about applying a gloss or any thing else on top of it, it is off within 20 min!!! thanks to sephora for their fabulous return policy, this went right back!

I had to return this, not becuse it isnt a good lipstain but because of the colour. There are only 2 colours and they are both too pinky and bright (which does NOT look good with my skintone). Like someone else said, many other companies make lipstains and possibly better ones; there is realy no reason why you should buy this one as opposed to a different one...
oh and its very drying

Quick Take: something i use almost everyday
This is a little less blendable than some other stains I tried (I bought it for cheek stain) but it also doesn't take 5 applications to get the desired tint. It would be a dream if you were looking for lip stain, and the slight vanilla fragrance is heavenly. I personally prefer the Greedy, but both colors look very natural on my skin. It seems like this little bottle is going to last forever. Since I only wear tinted moisturizer everyday, the contrast of a single, thin application is perfect for that natural, subtle flush. It took me a little while to get the application down because I had been working with very thin, overly blendable stains, and this goes on best for me with a synthetic dense blush brush. If you dab it on, or apply with a foundation brush, it's not going to be as spreadable and blendable as others because it does set and stain immediately. But, it also has awesome staying power...

Quick Take: long lasting
This is probably a little weird, but I have the terrible habit of peeling the skin off my lips. So I tend to have areas of thinner skin on my lips. Well, this lip stain ended up showing up brighter in areas of thinner skin...it looked like I had a busted lip! And to make matters worse, the stain lasted for two days on JUST the areas with thin skin, even though I was actively trying to rub it away. It did have a beautiful color though - Greedy.

I really like the color, one coat leaves a nice pinky hue on me. Stays put well, and doesn't dry my lips when used with gloss. Applicator is great - easy to apply.
Need more color options and packaging that would fit easily in purse!

Quick Take: glossy, long lasting
I got the Greedy color, which was a great shade of deep red-purple. I really loved the color, however, I felt that after drying, the stain would start to get a sticky consistency. My lips started lightly sticking together and it got to be rather annoying.
The stain itself was pretty long lasting, which is normally fine, so I guess that's fine if it's not sticky.

Amazing color, perfect "soft red" for pale girls!

I've never uploaded a picture before or ever wanted to but if you have very pale porcelain skin, you know how hard it can be to find lip color! Either it's the same shade as your own lips or it's either garishly bright or way, way too dark. But I found my match in UD Lip Envy in Envious (the lighter color)!
What makes this lip stain fun and versatile is how layerable it is. Don't let the sample swatch online fool you, with a couple layers this lip stain gets quite deep. In fact, I've been calling it almost red. And I have never really felt like I looked good or remotely naturally with a red lip, largely due to my skin tone. This color layered on is something just short of red but softer. I can't recommend it highly enough from a color perspective. Especially for other pale girls like me, though I am sure it's a nice shade on a range of skin tones. I bought it while on vacation and found myself wearing it nearly everyday of my three week trip. It was fun for a day shopping or out to dinner and looks so classy with a little black dress and a night at the theater.
However, while I'd give the color itself a solid five stars, I do not find it to be as long lasting as I hoped. Is it better lasting than many lipsticks? Yes, it is. But I still needed to reapply every few hours. You'd be left with some color but not much and if you aren't careful, the edges of your lips keep the color but any licking your lips, drinking, etc, and most of the color is off leaving you with a dark lip liner look. Now your mileage may vary and it does take some experimenting but personally no matter what I did, it did not last anywhere near as long as I'd have liked.
Lastly, I have worn it both alone and with clear gloss over it (midnight cowboy lip gloss adds a really gorgeous shimmer to it, BTW). And both ways works. You CAN wear it alone but you may notice some dryness. You want to be sure it is fully dry before adding anything on top too because it's really easy to rub half the color off on a gloss or chapstick if you don't. I did find that the color lasted markedly longer when I wore something over it but even then, you're going to need to reapply throughout your day. Overall, I recommend trying it in the store because the color is layerable and in my opinion very different from the swatches here (the darker shade was extremely purple on my lips, by the way, and also much darker than the swatch). I'm in love with the color enough to deal with repeatedly reapplying but know that you WILL be reapplying and decide for yourself if it's worth it.

Still searching for the perfect lip stain

What I like about this product: it stays on for several hours, which is one thing I was looking for. It goes on nicely and smells good.
What I don't like: it only comes in two colors. I thought this color would work for me--I was looking for a natural, berry lip color. While the color was okay, it was still too pink, and this was the darker of the two color options. So, I'll probably still wear it occasionally, I'm still searching for that perfect lip stain.

Quick Take: long-lasting, tastes great
I love this product! It tastes great, and it will stay on through anything! I test drove it while I was fire eating, and it did not melt off in the heat or rub off on the torches, even after about four hours of practice. I went on a date after that, and it survived dinner, and a make-out session. I still had color the next morning. I wore it tonight out dancing, and never had to touch up once. Amazing stuff.
