Quick Take: disappointing
I went into Sephora specifically asking for a mattifying primer and was it was suggested that I purchase this. What a waste of 50$. I have never been so unhappy with a product! It did not mattify my oily skin at all, and it did not hold my makeup in place at all. Not only that, but a weird slick residue was left on my skin. I am really disappointed that this was suggested to me.

Quick Take: ineffective, expensive
I must have the oilest T zone in the west! I was hopeful after so many positive reviews and having to get on a waiting list for it to be back in stock, all signs that many people liked it, I thought. But sadly, when I used it, my matte T zone only lasted about 2 hours.

I don't think some companies understand the definition of MATTIFYING = no oily shine skin.
This product not only burned my skin, but it also made it oily and shine. If you touch the area where it was applied, it peels off like dandruff.
It's a horrible product.

Does provide a matte coverage. I use light - slightly medium coverage foundation and I'm very oily. It helps a lot with shine control. Not a staple product of mine but I won't send it back

I've been using this primer for several years for my very oily skin. Suddenly this spring it's gotten impossible to find. While it still appears on the Sephora website, it has been "out of stock" for months. Is this product being discontinued?

VERY VERY VERY DRYING ON THE SKIN! Especially if you use it together with the Matte Velvet foundation. Big NO NO! It will make your face soo dry and the foundation will look extremely splotchy. I would use this with a more dewy foundation for best results, otherwise youre going to dry out your skin and your foundation is going to look chalky.

Best Primer for Oily Skin

This primer is a godsend for my oily skin. I used to use 3-4 blotting sheets a day, but I am down to maybe one with this and the MUFE Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation. This makes my skin stay oil-free and my makeup look flawless. On "lazy makeup" days, I use this and MUFE Microfinish Poweder to keep the oil at bay. The bottle sucks since the product get stuck to the sides, but I use a q-tip until it is gone. Amazing!

This is by far the best mattifying primer I have used! I apply my makeup early in the morning. When I use this, I don't have to blot until mid afternoon. If I don't use this, my nose and forehead are a grease ball by lunch.
The only thing that irritates me (besides the price) is the pump. The product is thick and sticks to the sides of the bottle. The product doesn't sink down to the bottom. So at a certain point, the pump stops working but there is TONS of product still left on the sides of the bottle. I have to use a Q-tip to scrape it out.

Unfortunately, this product did not make any difference whatsoever. It did not even come close to removing shine with long lasting results. I ended up taking this product back to the store to exchange for other items. I am still on a search for a product that actually does control my oily skin.

I've been trying All Mat off an on over the past year, and I just can't say that I notice any difference. My makeup doesn't go on any better, and it sure doesn't make my face less oily, nor keep the makeup on my face any longer. I'll use up what I have, but I won't be ordering any more. I'm still on the hunt for a primer that can actually stand up to the oil.

Quick Take: fast-absorbing, pore filler!
Its expensive but it lasts forever because a little goes a long way! This primer is a gel like serum that goes on your skin smoothly filling in EVERYTHING! As far as the mattifying part.. it works best when paired with their MAT foundation!
If your super oily and cant find any product to absord it.. try Milk of Magnesia.. it may sound weird but it does the job! check out reviews on youtube!

I have very oily skin and this product really does help reduce shine. I love the velvety like texture and it doesn't feel too thick. Most of the time I don't need to blot my skin because it doesn't get crazy oily like before. I wouldn't say it keeps my skin totally mat though, just enough to where I don't need to blot but my skin looks dewy. Which works out great because I don't want to look totally mat either. My make up glides over this stuff super well and doesn't feel greasy. Definitely one of my top and favorite make up primers.

the lady who i bought it from said that it was going to really even out my textured skin. i have sensitive, acne prone skin and this product did help with making my skin less textured. but i feel like i have to use a lot of it to achieve that effect. i don't feel like this product has made me break out more than normal so i'm definitely liking that!

I have very oily skin. i also struggle with hyper pigmentation. After reading the reviews i just had to try this primer and the mat velvet foundation. The first few days i noticed that i seemed to be even more oily than before. I stopped using the primer to see if the foundation worked any better. unfortunately it didn't. unfortunately these products did not work for me.
