Improved skin texture and fewer breakouts!

Quick Take: easy to use
The best $25 I ever spent. Feels amazing on the skin, provides gentle exfoliation, and cleans the skin better than anything wash or scrub I have previously applied with my fingers.

Cleansing Massage Brush

Quick Take: easy to use
This brush is the best brush. It's really soft and lather's well. I use it with the Shiseido cleanser and just a little dab goes a long way. I would recommend this brush to others because it's really gentle on your face.

This is the worst product that I have ever bought from Sephora. I bought one for my sister and one for myself, and we both hated them. We returned them both. The brush was to soft to do anything. It didnt do anything. Avoid buying this product!!

Soft and effective
-01.14.13
I have been using face brushes for a while now but haven't found one that didn't irritate my skin.
I have oily skin, so that equals large pores. I have tried all different types of scrubs/treatments to make my pores look smaller but no luck. When I started using face brushes, I started to notice a difference, but my skin was bright red because the other brushes I used caused my skin to be irritated. When I use this brush, I wouldn't say it's a miracle worker, but my skin significantly looks smoother. My pores aren't as obvious, and my skin isn't irritated. I use it once a day, when I shower.
By the way, I hang it in the shower with a string next to my loofah.

I use this every day with the Shiseido extra gentle cleansing foam. Works and feels great. It also comes with a stand that is nice for standing it up on your sink

Love this brush
-01.03.13
Quick Take: easy to use
I've used this brush for a few years (I take good care of it - wash, air dry etc) and it didn't frey a bit! I started using it with liquid face cleanser but sometimes can use with facial soap, too (although I feel like the liquid cleanser is better for the bruch). It is very gentle and great for removing makeup (not as gentle as some other brushes that don't have silicone cushions). The only con is with the cover - it does not stay on firmly and keeps falling off the brush.

Soft and gentle
-11.05.12
Quick Take: soft, gentle
This is the first cleansing brush I've ever bought in my 25 year of life! It is soft and gentle..however, I find it easer to cleanse my face just with my two hands...I only used this product twice or three time and it's kept somewhere in my closet ever since.........

I bought this brush as an alternative to the Clarisonic. I didn't have the money to buy that one! I like the feel of my face when I'm done using it ... soft and clean. I use it every night!

amazingly soft but....
-10.24.12
Quick Take: easy to use, hard on nose pores the brush head is too big
Ok, I bought Shiseido foundation brush first and I was simply amazed how fantastic soft is it. So I decieded to get this gentle cleansing brush. And after I tried I think it is just ok brush! Well what I dont like that if it gets wet, then the hair clumps together. 2) it is only suitable with foamy cleansers, forget gel cleansers here 3) I would still would not use it every day as I guess it still exfoliates skin pretty strong even the brushes are the super soft and mild. 4) the brush head could be smaller as it is impossible to get to the nose pores and the pores around it. so you still have to use your fingers there. I did not know if I would put 3 or 4 stars but I would say it is amazing brush but you can still be fine without it. just use your scrub every second week. Or you can use this brush together with Kanebo silk exfoliating powder. Well the skin is very soft and clean after this brush but the nose area is still dirty. So think twice about such an investement.

I love this brush
-09.20.12
It's a light-weight brush that is used mainly for everyday exfoliation WITHOUT irritation. If you want something more harsh than this is not the brush for you. This brush is meant to help do a daily clean-up of your face. When I'm done using it I rinse it out and let it dry on the drying holder it comes with on my counter because if you leave it in the shower it never has a chance to truly dry and it can start harboring bacteria. I love the little rubber bristles inside.

didn't work for me..............
-09.17.12
I really hope to like this product, but after using it twice it really irritated my face. I think is also because I have very sensitive skin with rosacea. I can’t use normal scrub, so I was hoping I can use the brush as after reading a lot of the reviews and most said that is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin, but unfortunately not for me.

-09.03.12
Quick Take: easy to use, gentle effective alternative
This product is gentler on the skin than the clarisonic. It leaves the skin clean and gently exfoliated good for everyday use. I highly recommend this product as a gentle alternative to clarisonic.

Finally Acne-Free
-08.30.12
Quick Take: easy to use, maximizes cleansers, soft bristles, exfoliating
This will maximize any cleanser you have. I've suffered from moderate to severe acne since I was 11. Though I cleared up at around 17, 18, it came back pretty bad on my chin and neck/cheek area when I turned 21. Given how long I've had acne, I know a bit about ingredients and products.
I switch between 2 cleansers: Dermadoctor Ain't Misbehavin' and Boscia Clear Complexion Botanical Blast Cleanser. Dermadoctor in the PM and Boscia in the AM. Dermadoctor has the chemical exfoliation (BHA) I need, and the Boscia is its organic botanical companion. Both cleansers are pH balanced and have amazing ingredients. I need both to balance out how hard I am on my skin when I am using treatments. Since I have been using this brush, I seldom need to use the acne treatments I used to. With just these two cleansers, my skin has cleared up drastically and I'm proud to say I'm acne free. I still have acne scars but those have been fading every day.
Before this brush, I'd use my fingers like any one else to wash my face. The usual -- work into a lather and then work in small circles all over. Since the summer months in LA are crazy hot, my oily skin made me break out more and my nose had more blackheads than I'd ever seen. No masks or pore strips would make them go away. For two weeks, I painfully used an extractor to remove the blackheads. Sometimes, this would leave scarring and it was just a bad experience in general.
I bought this Shiseido brush because I trust the brand and because it's way more affordable than a Clarisonic (which, as a person who gets facials sometimes and as someone who has friends who use it, I know it's not worth the money). I was a bit skeptical, and probably a bit desperate, but I am being 100% honest when I say that this brush has single-handedly cleared my skin.
I don't work for Shiseido (or Dermadoctor or Boscia for that matter), but I write this review so that hopefully other people with acne out there can get clear like I have.
-- How it Feels on Your Face --
The bristles are silk and I've read that the tips are rounded, unlike most other face brushes. Thus, there' s NO poking whatsoever. They glide over the surface of your face and you do feel an exfoliating feeling. The bristles are also so smooth that there is absolutely no buildup of product. With a quick rinse, this brush is perfectly clean and reshaped just like when it was brand new. This is a truly hygienic way to wash your face.
-- How I Use It --
Since the brush works for me, I hope this helps some ladies out there:
(PM) Dermadoctor Cleaner: At night before I go to bed, I use a makeup removing cloth (I like Korres) and wipe all over my face to get off the oil and dirt. I wear a tinted moisturizer and concealer and powder, so I like to get that layer off so that my bare skin comes in contact with the anti-acne ingredients of the cleanser. My skin is moist after I wipe it down, so then I put a dime sized amount of the Dermadoctor cleanser onto the **DRY** Shiseido brush and gently work it clockwise and counterclockwise all over my face. The switching of directions is EXTREMELY important...when I do this, once I rinse off, my pores are so clean that they almost disappear. Instead of blackheads, all I see are very small skin-colored dots. Once I put on night cream (Korres Sleeping Facial), my pores vanish. My face is clean and soft and smells like roses when I go to bed.
(AM) Boscia Cleanser: In the morning, I wet my face with warm water and the Shiseido brush and put two pumps of the Boscia acne cleanser onto the brush. Then I work it into small circles (again clockwise AND counterclockwise) on my forehead and upper cheek bones (areas that have a rounded shape) so that the brush gets a nice thick bubbly lather going. After the later is pretty opaque white, I begin to go all around my face, all the way to the edges of my face -- by my ears and temples, the underside of my face and chin, etc. Once I have gone all over my face in small circles in both directions, I rinse and dry my face. It is REALLY clean. You might notice when all the bubbles are on your face and start to fizz away to reveal your skin, there is a brightness there that is sorta glowy, like you just got a facial. I LOVE that feeling when my skin is bright like that. It makes washing my face more fun and enjoyable than just regular washing.
***TIP***
When you rinse your brush off after you use it, it's going to be pretty wet. So, be sure to press all the bristles to one side of the brush to squeeze out the few excess drops of water, then shake the brush in your sink to flick off any water that's left. THEN put it back in the little brush holder. If you don't do this, the brush will drip and there'll be a little water puddle under the brush holder; not very sanitary.
-- My Results --
Dry or wet application, this brush really makes your cleanser work for you. The results got better and better over the course of 3 weeks. I noticed that my blackheads were clearing up already at the end of my first week of using this brush both AM and PM, but by week 3, my blackheads were gone. No more extractor, or pore strips! I still use a charcoal mask to spoil myself, but before when I'd see little sprinkles of dirt on the surface of the charcoal mask as it was drying on my face, now I barely see anything. It's more for the cooling and condition sensations! And the mask is even more effective than before since it seems like my skin is more receptive to other products since I've used this brush to cleanse it!
If you have sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin like I do, I think you would really benefit from this product. The Shiseido brush is not abrasive and really works your cleanser into your pores -- so finally, those cleansers that say they are "deep cleaning" will actually clear your pores now.
Like makeup, I've realized that sometimes the products work, but you just need the right tools to apply them or the right preparation of your face for it to work.
In this case, the Shiseido face brush is the right tool to wash my face. When I use the Dermadoctor cleanser, I make sure to wipe my makeup off first.
I have not had to use my fingers to wash my face since I bought this brush and I've never looked back. It especially works great for the sides of your nose; I used to really try to use my fingers to work cleanser into those areas, but this brush is much more effective and hygienic to do that.
I know this is may seem like a super long review, but I just wanted to share how I use this because it works for me. Skin is so important, my face is my first impression, so I believe this a truly worthwhile investment. I hope more ladies get clear skin like I did from using this brush. I do not work for Shiseido or any of the brands mentioned and I won't get anything for writing this thorough review. I just know how it is to have bad acne. And I hope this brush can help you, too. Good luck and wishing all of you beautiful, glowing skin!

I really wanted to love this but it was WAY too gentle.. very luxurious look to it. Its okay for taking every trace of makeup off, even the eye area. But I love the sephora one better sine it exfoliates perfectly and gives a glow.

-08.12.12
Quick Take: easy to use, soft, gentle
I kept hearing great things about the Clairasonic, but my skin is pretty decent to start with so I didn't want to spend all the money on it. I love Shiseido products, so I bought this as soon as I saw it. The brush is extremely soft, not scratchy at all. It helps remove my dead skin and minimizes my blackheads to the point that they are now invisible! It also feels great as a massage aspect too! I'm VERY happy with my purchase!

Way better than the Clarisonic!
-06.09.12
Quick Take: easy to use
I rarely write reviews. However this brush is so wonderful, good for all types of skin. I have acne prone skin and I tried the Clarisonic which was too harsh, and it cause me to breakout more. Then I change the brush head to the delicate one, still break me out like crazy. Finally I decided to try the Shiseido brush. I can see results in just 3 days (only at night). My skin is smoother and less breakout. This brush helps foaming. It also removes makeup very well. To be honest, I hate the Clarisonic and should have brought the Shiseido one earlier.
