Quick Take: hydrating, non-acnegenic, evens skintone
this is my first product review as a VIB on the Sephora website. i never write reviews because most products ive tried are good but nothing special. however, the shiseido bio-performance whitening cream is EVERYTHING to me. i have combination skin; dry in the t-zone and oilier around which ive noticed most people have become lately. i was hesitant to purchase the moisturizer because of the "whitening" title it was given until i read boinninja's review. i also am a guy with acne prone skin which leaves behind dark acne spots after the breakout is long gone. i use the yu-be cleanser with my clarisonic, shiseido eudermine softner, and this moisturizer. my skin has never been more clearer from any moisturizer ive used, it's truly a miracle cream for me. it looks heavy in the jar, but to the touch its very silky and melts into the skin without any irritation. most anti-aging moisturizers are very drying to those with sensitive and dry skin because of the tightening element in the cream. this is a must buy even though some will think the price is crazy! its just enough moisture to balance the skin, corrects and brightens acne spots without forming new ones, anti-aging without irritation, smells zenful, and diminishes any signs of flaky, scaly skin. i deff recommend this moisturizer to anyone with problem prone skin!! they say guys have thicker facial skin, so if that's the case and it worked wonders on me then im sure the girls will love the results as well :)

Quick Take: moisturizing
Being that I'm asian, I had a tendency to purchase things from Shiseido... It's my go to brand in case of emergency. I know that whatever product I get from them, I won't break out. My face is okay with their chemicals.
That being said, I purchased this product and the results... the result is... No much difference - if any at all. You can buy the regular day or night cream by them and you'll be just fine - better because you'll save alot of money.
I gave this 3 stars because although it is pricey, it does work to keep my skin hydrated. Also, this little bottle does last quite a while. However, in terms of whitening - it has yet to do anything to my face - it does not "diminish the appearance of uneven skintones and fine lines.

Finally found what I have been looking for! I was hesistant at first because of the price but it it definitely worth it. It is lightweight, hydrating, and brightens your face instantly. I have been using this cream for 6 months and I am in love! My face has never been this radiant!

I use this cream primarily for use during the day. The performance has been consistent. It is not greasy and sits well on the skin. It also, very gradually, evens the complexion.

Wonderful moisturizer

I absolutely love this moisturizer and the way it makes my skin feel after cleansing and softening. Does not make my skin massively oily (t-zone does get oily at night as my skin recharges) and it hydrates well. Unfortunately I have not seen any whitening action occurring and truthfully I have not seen any whitening from any product that claims to whiten (except for the simple whitening of Crest Whitestrips!).

Great Softener, but don't expect Whitening

This cream has a very unique kind of texture. Despite many reviewers who thought this was lightweight, I actually feel like it's quite rich and thick, like it's very concentrated. In any case it absorbs immediately, is SUPER moisturizing without causing any breakouts. I call it a "softener" because it really does soften my skin and gives (especially on the edges of my eyes and forehead where I am started to develop some fine lines) a "soft focus" effect, which is wonderful.
Here are some negatives: It has a thick and almost gooey kind of texture, and leaves my skin feeling heavy, and I don't really enjoy that feeling as much as other lightweight moisturizers like Clinique Moisture Surge or DDF Ultra-Lite Dew... perhaps that's the price I pay when the lightweights don't get the job done! The other downside is that the whitening aspect is very slow and almost unnoticeable. Sure my skin looks bright and healthy at application, but I don't believe there is that much long-term effect of "brightening" or "evening out" the skin. In fact I basically stopped expecting it to treat my discolorations and use it purely for when I need my anti-aging moisture perk about once every other day.

I bought this for my grandma. As she ages, she tends to get more dark spots of sun spots, and this works really great to reduce the spots! Shiseido products are overall really good for sensitive skin.

Shiseido's BioPerformance Advanced Super Revitalizer Whitening Formula works okay, but I would not make any repeat purchases. I have light olive skin that is very sensitive to the sun. The slightest outing without sunscreen will result in the darkening of some sun spots I have along my cheekbones. It is a very rich cream, so I only need a little bit. It provides plenty of moisture for my normal skin. Because it does not have SPF protection. I only use it at night. In all honesty, I do not think that it fades my spots on its own, but it helps other brightening products to keep them faded. Because I have not noticed any anti-aging benefits either, I would not repurchase this moisturizer. I would use the mask and the serum from Shiseido's brightening line, though.

I'm a male and I have sensitive skin. I've been trying different moisturizers for my face that wouldn't irritate my skin or turn it red. I couldn't find anything for men that I liked. I ran out of ideas regarding men's products, so my girlfriend suggested I try her cream (this product). I was blown away. It moisturizes my face and feels light on my skin. But, what really amazed me was that it SIGNIFICANTLY reduced the appearance of my acne scars and made my complexion more clear and balanced from only two weeks of daily use. I'm now getting compliments ("your skin is clearer" / "you look younger") from my female friends and they even ask me what I'm using on my face because the difference is apparent. This is definitely worth the price.

I bought this product after reading the reviews here. I was skeptical, and since it was so expensive I wasn't sure if I was willing to risk it. I'm so glad I did! I actually bought it for my mom who complained about having uneven skin color on her face. She loved it! However, she was unwilling to buy another one because of the price...so I just bought another one for her. Great Christmas present for her!

This cream has helped my acne scars fade away quickly. I am not sure about fine lines because I don't have any yet. This lasts a long time, about 6 months for me. I only use at night because it's so expensive. Other than that, I recommend this for dark spots and pigmentation.

i hardly ever write reviews on any products but for this one i feel like i should. Ive been using this cream for about a week now and so far, its been amazing! i love it! I definitely see some improvement in my skin, my face is less dull and feels a lot better. i love the way it feels and its great as a night cream. I highly recommend to anyone who wants brighter skin.

I am just so hooked on this entire Shiseido line. I will say that this does not radically lighten the brown, sun damage spots that I have, but it DOES lighten them to the point they don't show thru my tinted moisturizer. This is a very nice, rich moisturizer without being heavy and greasy. It is concentrated, so you don't need gobs of it! I just dip my finger tip in and that's enough. So this does last 3 - 4 months, so it's really not that expensive. I've tried Clinique, Arbonne, Skincueticals, and Dermalogic. THIS has been the best product for me and I'm not switching any time soon.
