This is a great moisturizing toner. In the colder months, I definitely have to follow up with a moisturizer (I use coconut oil) but in the summer time, it's usually enough on its own.
I don't use a cotton pad to apply it because I think it wastes product and I'm cheap so I buy the cheap-o cotton pads that leave bits of fuzzies and lint on my face. I just dump a few droplets into the palm of my hand, smear my hands together, and then gently pat it all over my face. I feel like it hydrates better that way.
The best part about this product is that I've definitely seen an improvement in the brightness of my skin. Most of my hyperpigmentation and acne scars have disappeared so I no longer am a slave to concealer.

Quick Take: hydrating, moisturizing
Great product! I used to have bad skin in high school but after I started using the Shiseido 3 step program my skin has stayed clear for years. It's a little on the pricey end but it lasts forever and it makes my skin feel so soft and smooth I can even get away with skipping the moisturizer.

I think Shiseido was honest in saying that this softener prevents rather than treats dark spots. I've used this product for more than 6 months so far. Since then my face has formed fewer discolorations from acne breakouts. I'd breakout about once a month, and the pimples used to leave hyper-pigmentation behind, making my fair face look red in some areas. The hyper-pigmentation I get now is lighter. I do not like the consistency of this product too much, for it's superb sticky and has a faint chemical smell.

This is the best softener ever! The only skincare I use are from Shiseido, and this is my favorite toner compare to the moisturize line. This makes my skin very soft and give me a bit of a nice glow. If this had spf, I wouldn't need to use a moisturizer haha.
If you have dry skin like me, before bed when my skin is very dry, I applied this and it makes my face very hydrating. I will use this forever! Unless they change the formula.

Best beauty product line on the market

I had heard wonderful things about Shiseido for years, but wasn't sure about spending the big bucks if it turned out to be all hype. Well, it's not all hype. After even 1 or 2 days using the system, I noticed my skin brightening and evening out. Plus, it all smells nice. I would highly recommend the Shiseido White Lucent system to anyone of any skin type that's looking for a beautiful healthy glow

I use this "toner" after washing my face and prior to putting on serum and moisturizer. It's feels comfortable when I put it on and helps my face to better absorb the serum. This is part of my daily routine and something I cannot live without.

I bought the entire Shiseido White Lucent line, in the hopes of finding my holy grail product line. After about 3 days, I started to get some red spots, but thought that my skin just needed to get adjusted to the change. However, after about 2.5 weeks, I definitely had some noticeable pimples here and there on my face. I, being stupidly stubborn, still stuck with it for one more week, hoping the the whole purging theory was true, but my breakout did not clear. I'm not sure whether it was this particular product was the cause. It may be something that is in the entire line or just one of them, but I did not want to stick around testing for that any longer. I do have extremely sensitive, combination skin though (to the point that it is annoyingly sensitive), so take this with a grain of salt.
Now for this particular product, I was very please with the texture and how my skin would feel so plump and soft after applying this enriched toner. I would definitely still recommend this product to those whose skin is not as sensitive and tends to be more on the drying side.

I needed to try something different for my skin care. The Shiseido Rep (Denise) talked to me about the line and gave me samples of the White Lucent Line. I came back a few days later to buy the Softener since it was amazing! Feels amazing, smells great, non-tightening, and definitely smooths my skin.

Hardly lighted my spots. I use a zinc oxide 50+ spf as well, in order to prevent any further darkening, but the product just simply doesn' twork

Quick Take: refreshing, non-drying
i have been the sort of person who skips out on toner because it dries my skin. But recently i decided to get my skincare routine perfect and decided it was time to buy one! This is wonderful not only because it doesnt dry your skin but because the bottle is HUGE. My only concern is that i wish it would absorb a bit faster into my skin.

Using this, combined with the night lotion and eye cream, my skin feels unbelievably soft! The thing I like about this product is that it is really easy to dispense. I also like how Shiseido keeps all these products protected in opaque bottles and the creams/lotions are not open to the air.

Quick Take: non-drying, moisturizing, even toning
I have olivey brown skin, but with reddish under tones, i scar easily and my skin tends to get "uneven" really quickly, but NOW its slowly becoming amazing! :D I never really toned my skin after cleansing because every toner i had ever come across seemed to be very thin and very drying and extremely alcohol (or witch hazel or whatever other stinging product) based. So when I first tried this out in the travel size that came with the shisheido 3step cleansing system starter, I was extremely impressed by it! It has a runny gel type of consistency, it moisturizes my extremely combination skin (without leaving it oily), and it actually-really-truly helps tone my skin! I use it morning and night after cleansing and prior to moisturizing, and in 2.5 weeks I really saw a difference. I am so glad I went and purchased the full size bottle. :) The only down side is that it is a little on the expensive side; especially if you use it after cleansing both night and day, the big bottle might only last 5 weeks. I've had mine about 2 weeks and I've used a little less than 1/2 the bottle. Maybe as I keep using it I will be able to use less, or just once a day. But if the cost was better I would not mind keeping it up twice daily. Nonetheless if you want amazing even toned skin, I would highly recommend this product.

I have been using this product over a year. I love it! I love the smell (that is the most important for me to choose skin product) and it helps to avoid breaking out from the dryness. I enjoy using twice a day!
