I love shiseido
-05.21.13
My mom just bought this the other so I gave it a try. It come out liquids but turns into like a powder once you rub it into your skin. Weird but its a really good sunscreen. It did not affect the application of my make up and felt as if I wasn't even wearing it. I would recommend it to all of you.

Quick Take: non-greasy
This seemed to prevent oil accumulation better than the oil-free moisturizer I've been using over winter (which is a very basic normal-skin formula that is starting to be too heavy for spring weather). I needed to use quite a bit, as sank in pretty quickly/didn't blend out much, and the white tint never really blended away. That was okay for me though, because it evened out my pale skin a bit like a primer. I eventually returned it because I didn't like the way it felt--again, it felt like a primer, which I dislike on my skin after a day's wear--but I debated a lot whether to keep it and I didn't have any problems with breakouts, so if you like that primer look and feeling this might work for you.

Great face sunscreen for a day at the beach
-05.09.13
Quick Take: non-greasy, blends in easily
Great protection with none of the greasy, pore-clogging qualities of body sunscreen. Lasts the full 80 minutes as advertised and very water resistant. Highly recommend!

Too White
-05.08.13
Quick Take: non-greasy, thick
Sunscreen works great, but can't be used as an every day sunscreen to wear under make-up because it leaves skin much to white. It's pretty thick so it doesn't blend into skin. It leaves a white haze over your face.

more matte than the lotion version
-04.29.13
Quick Take: non-greasy, blends in easily
I have used the lotion version of this sunscreen before this one, and surprisingly, the lotion was oilier than the cream! This one is definitely more matte. However, it does "whiten" my face quite a lot; I couldn't use my regular foundation after putting this on because my face was becoming way too white and scary. Other than that, great sunscreen.

My mom loves this sunscreen! It goes on smoothly and isn't greasy. My mom is really particular about things, and she really loves this sunscreen for her face!

Great protection
-04.17.13
Quick Take: non-greasy
I went to the Caribbean and wore this on my face and shoulders and had great coverage the whole time. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because I feel like it doesn't blend in well. I wish it were more sheer instead of making me look like I'm wearing white foundation. Otherwise, I think it's doing it's job as a sunscreen. I didn't get burned.

Shiseido Face Sunscreen
-04.15.13
This is a really nice face sunscreen. It does absorb SUPER quickly, almost too fast. However, I have not found another sunscreen that I prefer more so this is the best that I have found so far.

HIGHEST SPF/UVA Sunscreen in America
-04.13.13
Quick Take: unparalleled uv protection
This ultimate sunscreen is literally the strongest sunscreen in USA right now. Unbelievably high sunscreen protection... It was recently reformulated and the old version was not as high-level as this new one. Here are the active ingredients:
OCTINOXATE 7.4%
OCTOCRYLENE 3.0%
TITANIUM DIOXIDE 1.7%
ZINC OXIDE 19.3%
I am a sunscreen fanatic, so I am familiar with basically all the brands in US and Canada (and much more in Asia), and although I haven't tried every sunscreen of every brand out here, I can still read the labels and obtain the percentages of active sunscreen ingredients. The bottom line is that it really doesn't matter how high the SPF or PA factors any sunscreens claim to have on their labelling. Many are misleading and provide much less sun protection than they claim. The only accurate way to accurately reveal sunscreen products' protection level is by looking at the percentages of the sunscreen ingredients. This one is INSANE - when applied enough, you might just never get wrinkles or grow spots for the rest of your life! Fine, that was a little exaggerated of a line...
The only product currently in US (that I know of, there is a slight chance I might be wrong) that even come close to this sunscreen's UVA protection (but still not as high) is Diorsnow's White Reveal UV Shield. The rest of them (Clinique, Murad, Origins, Laura Mercier, and even Caudalie, just to name a few), even ones with the same "SPF 50 PA +++", when compared to their actual sunscreen ingredients... most don't even add up to half of the sun protection level this sunscreen provides.
This sunscreen does leave some white cast, so either put it on early enough (for me it takes about an hour for the "whiteness" to completely go away) or find a way to shade yourself with the right foundation (a little darker will help). But even if you don't like the white cast, EVEN if doesn't feel great on your skin, the unparalleled SPF/UVA level is simply worth it - you can thank me 20 years later when you realized you looked the same since you started using this ;)

Great product/ great service
-04.11.13
Quick Take: non-greasy, blends in easily, excellent coverage, great for sensitive skin/rosacea
I was looking for a full spectrum sunscreen for my sensitive skin-- the sephora salesperson was so helpful, this did the trick in the Florida sun! Not too heavy, but complete protection.

This stuff is great. It has a soft creamy texture and works well on face (I also use it on my neck and hands in a pinch). However, it does leave a slight trace of a white-ish tint that is likely more noticeable on darker skin tones (I'm freakishly pale and still notice a slight ghostly tint that is easily covered with foundation but if you're wearing it on it's own be mindful!

Save your skin with this product

Why use anything else? It won't clog your pores. It washes off completely at the end of the day. I can be in the water all day and will only have to reapply once. You will NOT get burned and it won't sting your eyes if you sweat.

White Cast City!
-04.09.13
Quick Take: leaves white residue, thick, smells foul
I was just sure I would love this as I love everything Shiseido. I was wrong! This leaves my face whiter than any other sunscreen I have ever tried and made my face feel like it was burning the whole time I was wearing it and even after I washed it off 3 times. The smell was disgusting!I will be returning this and trying the Shiseido Urban Protection line. If that doesn't work, its back to Clarins for me.

I was a faithful user of Shiseido's SPF 55, but then the FDA regulation changed on SPF labeling and they no longer had the SPF 55 version. I was told that this was the same as the SPF 55 and just labeled differently, but I found that there were some differences with the SPF 55 version. This one has a different scent. Not exactly bad or anything... just different. This one also seemed a bit thicker in formula and left my face noticeably whiter. You'll have to do a lot more blending when rubbing the cream in. Also, this formula seems more oily. Before my makeup would not budge and now I'll see it moving at the end of the day (as in melting?). I find that my makeup rubs off as well, which didn't happen before. I only changed my SPF and nothing else in my makeup. Lastly, I think this SPF may be causing me to break out. I have not yet confirmed if it is causing my break out, but it may be the cause.

I feel extremely protected from the sun when using this cream, but it's extremely drying to my skin. It leaves my skin with a white layer. I would definitely put this on over my day cream when i know i'll be out in the sun all day, but it's not going to be my daily moisturizer.

Don't believe the hype
-02.25.13
Quick Take: chalky
I'm not really sure why everyone is raving about this item because I have absolute disdain for it. First of all, it doesn't absorb into my skin at all - I know it's the repercussion that comes with high SPF, but still. Second, it gives me clogged pores, and consequently, blackheads. I returned this item after using it for three days.
