Wouldn't Do Without
-06.12.13
Quick Take: protective, nice base
This product glides on easily. Works as a base for your lipstick or gloss. Has staying power and truly prevents lips from burning and chapping. My lips chap as much if not more in the summer than they do in the winter. I would not go outside without this product. Shiseido does not market it as a lip primer but they should.
It feels light weight. Most importaintly IMO it's worth the price. It goes without saying you must reapply but it does have staying power.

Feels like a nice lip treatment; not sticky, no strong taste, works over or under lip color without messing it up. Very well done!

SPF 36!
-05.08.13
Quick Take: highest spf i can find!
If you're looking for a lip moisturizer with a high SPF, you buy this, no questions asked. It goes on smooth, does have a slightly white-ish hue. I happen to like it though. Sometimes I apply lipstick over it (after waiting a few minutes for it to set in) but I think it looks ok without it, just depends on what you like. It does provide moisture, but the reason you should buy this is mainly for the SPF. So if you're looking for a product to really moisturize and "treat" your lips but don't care about SPF, then don't buy this. There are much better moisturizers out there for those not as concerned with SPF.

Looks white, but it stays, so I just put colored gloss over it. Couldnt find anything with a higher SPF.

Nice but white lips
-05.03.13
Quick Take: protective
I love the SPF coverage of this. The only negative is that it makes my lips look slightly white or pale. It does not seem to be clear. But I want to protect, so I use it. I did not notice luminosity.

Very good lip protection
-04.23.13
I used this on vacation in Hawaii; overall, I found this product to be effective and easy to apply, with a nice lip-feel. It does give your lips a bit of whitish hue when you first apply it, which is why I didn't give this five stars. Otherwise, it's exactly what I was looking for.

Good Lip SPF
-04.19.13
Quick Take: effective spf
There's not many strictly lip spf products in a lipstick form on the market. After realizing that most lipglosses, lipsticks, etc don't contain spf and actually attract sun rays (in the case of sheer, sparkly lip glosses) I figured it was time to add one to my daily routine. This one is very effective (spf 36!), creamy, slides on smoothly. I also use it around the eye area. It's much smoother & easier to apply than push up sunscreen sticks. It's not a "treatment" for dry/cracked lips, as it's rather matte. If I have dry lips, I apply a rich balm first. One star off as it does not taste the best but...it's sunscreen so I guess that's to be expected.

Great Lip Skin Protection
-04.18.13
I was looking for a Broad-spectrum for lips like this one. Is very complete. Regularly, lips protection products only has SPF 15 (protects against UVB rays - that cause skin cancer), and do not have Any protection against UVA rays (I call them: Ultra Violet "Aging" Rays - those affect directly Elastin and Collagen) which is determinate by PA. In this case PA++, the 2 crosses (++) means that protects during: 4-6 hours.
This time, I'm impress by Shiseido.
Great Lip Product.
PD: PA+ protects during 2-4hrs; PA+++ protects during 6-8hrs.
+ If you considerate put lipstick on it, wait at least 5minutes before applying it.
++ This product would be harsh for lips with sensitive skin, for the chemicals ingredients.

terrific high spf lip treatment
-12.06.12
Quick Take: great for those needing high spf lip balm
THis is a great product. Applies easily, doesn't look chalky like some other high spf lip balms. I have very fair skin and wear sunscreen every day regardless of the weather. I needed a good lip balm with higher than 15 spf. This is the one. Application is also easy since it comes in a lipstick -like tube.

Shiseido Sun Protection Lip Treatment SPF 36
-07.09.12
Quick Take: rich and emollient not sticky
Fabulous, plain and simple. It moisturizes my lips and keeps them soft without the need to reapply throughout the day. This is the highest SPF for lips that I have found and love that it has a pleasant smell and taste. The white disappears, leaving a soft sheen. Does not change the color of my lipstick either. Love this product and will continue to use it as part of my daily regime.

Love this lip protectant for the way it glides on smoothly without being sticky or tugging at my lips. It is white but instantly disappears so it does not change the color of my lipstick. My lips are soft, and protected from both UVA and UVB rays. Love that it is full spectrum. Leaves lips kissable too. Living in a sunny state means this will be indispensible year round. BONUS: It has also eliminated those little wrinkles on my lips. I put this on when my sunglasses go on, in fact I store it in my sunglass case! Thank you Sephora for carrying this product, and a big thank you to Shiseido for creating this wonder!

Stars for SPF
-06.05.12
The only reason why this gets a 3 star rating is because this is the only lip treatment I've seen with this high an SPF. If you have any pigment to your lips this is weird looking - it leaves a streaky white film over it. It's definitely of a nice silk consistency but it has zero staying power, so you will be reapplying and it gets taut and dry so it's not hydrating or moisturizing. Don't buy this without the set - face lotion 55SPF, cleansing bottle etc to get a good deal on it because it's not worthy on it's own.

smells nice, tastes funny, SPF for your lips!
-05.25.12
Quick Take: protecting, emollient, effective, safe, summer essential
I went on a lip SPF bender recently due to sun damage on my lips (really unpleasant-- WEAR SPF ON YOUR LIPS, FOLKS) and picked this up for days when I am out in the sun more than usual. This is fairly emollient, has a lovely scent, but a funny taste. It will give your lips a slight purplish tint due to it being white and all, but this does have a slightly glossy finish so it looks more like a neutralizing lip color-- layer it under your lipstick if that bugs you. Also the whitish tint softens once your lips warm up...

Quick Take: hydrating
I'm so happy to have found this product! It's not easy to find a lip treatment with a high SPF, never mind a lip treatment that wears nicely with a high SPF. Is definitely a whitish glaze, but not so much that it looks ridiculous; those with darker colored lips may actually like this effect. Wears like a soft, smooth lipstick. Lovely.

seems to irritate my lips. Makes sense because I am very sensitive to many sunscreens. Will save this for days when I will be outdoors for extended periods.
