No thank you! If you are dry, stay away from this product. I even applied a moisturizer prior to applying this powder and it still looked dry and flakey!!

I've been using this foundation for over 20 years. I've also used other brands and nothing came close. I golf every weekend so require additional sun coverage other than sun screen.

Tons of coverage!

I was amazed at the coverage, considering this is a powder foundation. My skin looked flawless...no pores! The rest of my makeup went on beautifully and I felt amazing. So quick to apply and knowing that you have SPF is a bonus and why I chose this for summer. Will definitely purchase more. I have fair to light skin so I purchased the second lightest shade. It does have a yellow undertone, so caution to pink undertone ladies. Love it !!

Quick Take: high quality staying power great spf
Hi ladies,
I have been using Shiseido's SPF 60 in the cute blue bottle for years and it has been a superior product. Sadly, as my skin has aged, it has started breaking me out! So I needed to make the switch to something that didn't break me out but provided awesome coverage. Firstly, I picked up Murad's Essential-C Day Moisture SPF 30 and it hasn't broken me out at all (and smells delicious) but I still wanted more coverage with some color so I have added this Shiseido powder as my foundation cover up. I have medium skin and thanks to previous reviews chose the 40 and it is a fine match. As this is a powder meant to be used for serious sun protection, it does go on heavier than say your average mineral powder or high end powder with a little bit of spf tossed in and I like that. I use Tarte's buki brush to buff it on evenly, being careful to not be too heavy handed with the application. Over a layer of sunscreen it looks great, a nice even finnish. When I use it over my LeTeint Touch Eclat, which is luminous but sheer, I do start to look a bit overdone but the wrinkle phobe in me just can't resist that last layer of protection! Although I haven't used the sponge for a wet application, the sponge is a great addition, very nice quality. I would give this product 5 stars easily except for two things. When you order, it doesn't come as a complete package and you need to order the container which is plastic and a bit iffy. I'm worried that if I ever happened to drop this, it would be goodbye to both the packaging and the powder inside. Other than that, another wonderful, serious business sun protection product that I trust.

Quick Take: long wearing, good coverage
I am skeptical of powder foundations, but this one is not cakey at all. It has great coverage immediately (you do not have to apply a lot) that lasts all day. I have very light skin but bought the SP30 due to other reviews saying the SP20 is orange, and it works for my skin tone. Also I have mild rosacea which this foundation covers up with no problem.

Quick Take: oil-free
I bought this after my dermatologist recommend it to me, to apply at midday, when I get out of my office. I like the fact that it protects against sun damage but I find that this isn't good as a main foundation, because it feels too heavy on the skin. I don't believe it looks natural.

I golf twice weekly and am in the sun over 5 hrs each time. Been using this for over 20 years. Great coverage for my freckles with 32 SPF for sun protection. Easy application with a spongeI also use the Shiseido sun screen with 60 SPF so I'm totally protected.

Quick Take: buildable coverage, mattifying
Like other Shiseido foundations, it blends very well and provides great, natural coverage. It's more potent than a loose powder in terms of providing a lasting matte finish.
I have medium Asian skin tone. With a tan this summer, SP50 is too light and I had to return it for SP60. SP50 should work great in the winter though.

I use the SP20 shade. My skin is very pale, and this does add color, but it looks natural -- like I used a light dusting of bronzer. The sponge works great to blend it in and helps blend around my hairline and jaw so there is no obvious line where the makeup ends. I always carry sunscreen with me, and this is great to use OVER makeup when I need to re-apply. For me, the texture and color are better than Pur Minerals and Peter Thomas Roth.

I've been using this product for 5years in every summer season. It is really great product for keeping your skin looks healthy, and as a sunscreen, it is pretty effective!
However I would say you should be careful for choosing color. I am always confused between 40 and one tone lighter color. (I am typical north eastern Asian skin like light yellow.) 40 is sometimes too dark for my face tone. so I would recommend one tone lighter color. : )

I am extremely impressed with this foundation! The coverage is fantastic. I have broken capallaries on my cheeks and it covers them wonderfully and lasts all day. I bought 2 more for stock up I usually wear light color foundation but I listened to the other reviews and got the 40 spf and it was perfect. Great stuff!!!!

So far I love this product - to rvg18 I have fair skin and couldn't decide between the SP10 and SP20. When I went to the store I was shocked! The SP10 looks pinky orange and looked so much different than I expected. I tried the SP20 and it is a perfect match. They look very different in person than online and I would definitely go try it at a store before writing it off. I love the high SPF and it gives a flawless finish. It does however bring out dry spots so you need to be sure you are well moisturized before applying.

Can we please talk about how most of these good reviews are from people with medium skin tones?
I ordered the lightest shade (SP10) and it was so orange and ugly. And I am fair, but not in an extreme way mind you.
I am not one of these people who can never find a light enough foundation color - I am not that pale, but the lightest shade in this foundation is too dark and orange. I am so sad because I really loved the idea of having sun protection in a powder foundation.
Does Shiseido not test their products out and notice the lightest shade is too dark and orange? Who has an orange skin tone? It's so unnatural and freakish looking to be the lightest shade!
Does anyone know of another powder compact with sun protection in colors that are actually fair and not orange?

I'm so glad I found this product. It does everything I need and like my foundation to do: it provides great coverage with a smooth finish, and has an SPF of greater than 30! And it really is amazing how comfortable it feels when on. I used to use philosophy hope in a tinted moisturizer, which isn't bad at all, but this stuff has been so great that I don't think I would ever go back. Its such a quick, efficient way to look great AND be protected--without adding yet another step to your morning routine--that lasts all day and doesn't leave you feeling like you have a ton of product on your face.

I have been using this product since 2002 and I have lived in 11 different countries for business purposes but this foundation never failed me in any kind of weather. Great flawless coverage. It does take 30 minutes to settle and look natural but thats no biggy.

Used this for 4 years. Ride horses in Fl. sun and heat. This stays on all day even when I sweat (a lot) riding in the sun. Works better than any sunscreen I've tried over many years. Love it!
