This is the best mascara I've ever tried. It really keeps lashes curled and won't smudge. I have short thin lashes and after one swoop my lashes are full, long, and curled. It is difficult to remove with out using Shiseidos eye makeup remover.

This is probably the best mascara I've used to make my tiny lashes look fuller and curled. Its ability to hold my curl up really made my look, and I got a ton of compliments on it. However, it is extremely hard to take off at night, even with makeup remover, so it was more of a hassle in this regard than I would have liked, so this is a good mascara to have for special occasions.

Quick Take: defining
I am very, very particular about mascara, and for the past 20 years I've found that my Lancome has been the best and only waterproof mascara that will keep my straight lashes curled and smudgeproof, but this mascara is GREAT! It is easy to apply and doesn't smudge after wearing it all day. I would certainly recommend this product. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that is has a strange perfumey smell, but I'm sensitive to smells. Otherwise, it's great.

I love this mascara! I have long straight lashes and most the time when I used an eyelash curler and put on masacra, within the next hour, my lashes will go limp. With this mascara, my lashes stay curled for more than 10 hours.

love the LL1 shisedo mascara, i hope they don't discontinue! the small brush makes it easy for me not to get spots around my eyes, and gives me the precision to get to each lash.

As previous reviewers have stated, this mascara not only curls, but it lifts and keeps your lashes in place all day long (for me, after 10 hours my lashes were still curled). I curl my lashes first with a lash curler then I use one layer of this mascara and it did not flake the 1st time I used it (it flaked a little the 2nd time, but I think this was due to leftover mascara the night before). The only downfall of this product is having to purchase a different type of make-up remover because it is waterproof therefore more difficult to remove. Another thing that's a slight downfall is the bristle brush which would be nice if it was more fluffy. Other than that, I've used it 2 days straight and so far it's living up to it's reputation as a dependable, waterproof curling mascara.

Quick Take: holds curl
This mascara does what it says. I have straight lashes. I need to use a curler on them otherwise there is no point in applying mascara. So I curl them, use this mascara, and they stay curled all day. It doesn't budge. No raccoon eyes. No crumbles. Just great looking lashes.

I have been searching for a mascara that lasts, deosn't flake, and hold the curl from my eyelash curler, and this is it! It is absolutely fabulous. I don't know if it is considered waterproof, but it definitly stays on and doesn't even wash off with cleanser, it has to be removed with eye makeup remover. Other than that, this is my favorite mascara by far! Worth every penny too.....

I'm prone to oily skin and frequent perspiring--can be a problem if you want your makeup to stay put. I have pin straight, thin shortish lashes. My best feature? My hazel asian, asian eyes. I've been looking for a lengthening/volumizing/curling/waterproof mascara that doesn't smudge or flake off (i don't think this is too much to ask!) ;> That being said, i usually like more dramatic eyes so I tend to go heavier on the mascara (3-5 coats) to get better length and volume. This usually results in clumps or droopy lashes.
Shiseido Lasting LIft mascara--great definition/length/volume/hold curl all day, but stiff like a starched collar(!)/minimal smudging. The only complaint I have is that it has a tendency to shed a tiny mascara grain or two into my eye occasionally! I think it might help if I make sure to comb out any clumps with a separating comb to avoid any flakes or grains that could fall into my eyes! It bothered me enough to try other mascaras in hopes of replacing it... I still use this one every now and then because it performs quite well, but I'm still on the look out for the perfect mascara!

I have really oily skin, and I've try many other Mascara. So far, this one is the only one that doesn't run at all. Definitely very lasting. Worth a try. And it looks natural. If you wanna build up the eyelash volume, you can apply more than one layers. IT's great.

I have tried so many waterproof mascaras and I still have raccoon eyes. I have tried the tube technology mascaras and they just don't do anything for my lashes. This mascara is great! It stays on - I never have raccoon eyes! It comes off easily with eye make-up remover. It is, however, a bit of a pain to apply which is why I gave it 4 stars. I have to wipe the wand on the sides before applying and I often still end up with a clump here or there. Don't get me wrong - its a great product! It just could use a little improvement.

I have tried a zillion different mascaras and though some are quite good, nothing is AS good as this one. My blue eyes are the best feature I have and I like them to really pop with long thick black lashes. If you use this close to the lash line and than sweep up, as opposed to just at the ends of your lashes, it will look as if you have eyeliner on, and as if you're wearing false lashes. By false, I mean tha's how thick they will be. The brush is not thick which allows you to single out each lash if you have a need to do that..
It's just the best mascara in the world hands down. For 5 years now I've been looking for something even better, trust me there isn't anything better.I think it's time I stop looking. . My only complaint is that the top does not close tightly and that causes the mascara to dry out sooner than it should. You have to work to get it closed real tight. They should fix that. That is my ONLY complaint.

I cannot believe how this mascara lifts, curls and holds the curl ALL DAY! I have FINALLY found the mascara of my dreams!! I have straight eyelashes. They do not have any curl at all. I curl my eyelashes with an eyelash curler and put this Lasting Lift Mascara on and my eyelashes stay curled ALL DAY!!! Amazing!! Please don't stop making this one!!!!!!

This mascara is the greatest. I've tried a few others (DiorShow Waterproof, CARGO's Texas Lash, etc.) and none of them compare to this. This stays on through a good cry, a swim in the pool, and a sweaty summer day. It also makes my regularly tiny, unnoticeable lashes look long and curly. I hope they never discontinue this product, but I will be purchasing another ASAP just to be sure. BUY THIS!

I read all the reviews on Sephora and I decided to give this mascara a try. I'm the typical asian with straight, thick lashes. Up until now, I NEVER found a mascara that held a curl. I resigned to accepting the fact that my lashes would forever aim downwards. After using this for about 2 weeks daily, I can say that this thing holds the curl like nothing I've ever used!! At the end of the day, my lashes look exactly as it did when I applied it in the morning.
Cons:
- Can clump easily. I just wipe off the excess around the cap and carefully apply. After, I take a Qtip and quickly wipe away clumps before the mascara dries.

- Might feel hard/stiff to some. To me, curl-holding capability is more important so I'm willing to sacrifice how the lashes feel.
- Difficult to remove. I use a cleansing oil to remove the mascara. Sometimes I get it all off, sometimes not. I noticed that it helps to place the oil over the eyelid and let it soak. Then I gently run the oil in a downward motion over my lashes (with my eyes closed).

I have VERY straight eyelashes. I use an eyelash curler and curling mascara, but my lashes always revert to straight. This mascara curls my lashes and they stay curled. All day long. I will never use another mascara.

Simply put, I can't live without this mascara. I have become so addicted i feel self-conscious whenever I'm not wearing it; that's how good this baby is. I literally get compliments alll the time on how pretty people think my eyes are. And, honestly? It's all thanks to this. I seriously don't know how I ever managed without it!
As for specifics, this is the ONLY (and I do mean only) mascara which even comes close to holding a curl for me. My eyelashes are the STRAIGHTEST things ever: I used to have to curl, apply mascara, and then curl again. And even then, my curl would barely last an hour. I was positive I would just have to settle with limp lashes.
And that's why this is simply a miracle. I curl once, apply this mascara, and voila! Gorgeous eyelashes, ytet somehow my eyelashes don't feel rock hard. It must be magic, honestly. This provides great volume and INSANE length. One coat creates a very natural look, and two coats instantly creates lashes that are so long, thick, and curled they literally look FAKE. One of my friend's actually asked me if I was wearing fake lashes to school. It was a glorious moment.
As for clumping, I've experienced no problems whatsoever. In fact, I was rather impressed by the definition this mascara provides. I do have a little trick though: after letting the mascara dry slightly for a minute or two, I use my index finger to "rub" the underside of my lashes. I know, I know, it sounds strange, but it instantly de-clumps.
The price is perhaps a bit steep, but I would pay double for the effect that this has (and this is coming from someone who counts every dollar I spend). All in all, please, please, for the sake of your eyelashes, reward yourself with this Holy Grail of a mascara.
