LOVE my Balm Shelter Lip Gloss! Use both "Material Girl" (alone) & "All American Girl" (over-top of my lip stain) & love the look every time. The moisturizing jojoba oil leaves lips dewy & soft & its a total bonus that it is not sticky nor does it leave any yucky residue! The sleek packaging makes it sooo easy to take my "shelter" with me where ever I go so I can have the protection 24/7!

I really enjoyed the texture and color of this gloss. It definitely was not sticky, which is something I truly do not like in a gloss. The smell was amazing!

Quick Take: moisturizing, spf, long wearing, smooth
This gloss in Material Girl has been my go-to for about 4 years. I've also used Pin-Up Girl and liked it. It's great to have SPF in the desert. The color is a little darker than my (naturally dark pink) lips. For a gloss, it lasts a pretty long time, and it makes my lips feel great afterward. I just wish it was a little cheaper so I could afford to use it every day.

Quick Take: non-sticky, moisturizing
I love this lip gloss. I bought it in the clear, All American Girl, because I wanted a somewhat glossy lippie for over stains. This one is perfect. It isn't heavy or sticky, stays a pretty god time, and it's delicate scent of bananas doesn't remind me of some teenage lip gloss, but of a more refined one with still being fun.

Quick Take: non-sticky, bad smell
My first impression of this when I opened it was that it smelled like a teenage girl. Not that I have anything against teenage girls per se, but I'm not one :)
The smell is powerful and oddly fruity - not something I want in a lip gloss. The texture of the gloss is great. The color was very sheer and didn't notice much of a difference from my actual lip color.
I bought Girly Girl and Daddy's Girl and actually compared the two at once (one on top lip, one on bottom lip) and you couldn't tell the difference.
If the color pay-off had been awesome I would've kept them despite the smell, but the lack of color payoff + bad smell = returned to the store.

Quick Take: tasty, kissable, non-sticky, too sheer
tastes awesome (and im not usually a fan of banana flavor) and definitely non sticky, but SO sheer. i got pin-up girl, which is supposed to be a berry red, and looks red in the tube, but it is almost completely clear. if i layer it, it goes on with more of a red tone, but as soon as i smoosh my lips together to rub it in it is back to clear.... and is now thicker so more likely to get stuck to my hair or boyfriend. i bought it basically for its "kissable" quality, meaning non-sticky and i can kiss while wearing it, and for that purpose it is perfectly adequate. only wish it had a bit more color payoff. minus two stars for false advertising as "berry red," plus one star because i am in love with theBalm and my disappointment is surely only because i had such high expectations. of my CLEAR glosses, this is in the top 3, even though i consider it more of a balm than a gloss because it isn't very glossy at all. maybe i will try using it over my new BalmGirls lipsticks, which sephora does not sell but is the only lipstick brand I have ever tried that doesnt collect on the dry patch on the right corner of my lip that has been there since childhood.

best lip gloss

I love this lip gloss for several reasons, MOST OF ALL is that it's not sticky!!!! I hate hate hate sticky lip gloss. This gloss goes on smooth and stays smooth. The colors are amazing, not too bright so you can wear them over a lip stick or alone. An added bonus is SPF 17, as a nurse I'm very careful of sun damage, I know all too well what the end result looks like. My only gripe is that my local Sephora does not carry it in the store so I have to order it. But it's a small price to pay.

This is the best colored spf product for lips. It has UVA protection (VERY important to prevent aging), is very moisturizing, and Daddy's Girl is the perfect, natural pink for me. I use this as my lip spf, lip color, and balm, so it's a 3-in-1 product for me. The scent of this is pleasant, but not noticable. No stickiness (a problem with Smashbox's SPF gloss). This makes lips look much younger/less wrinkled than lipstick as well. I will go into mourning if this is ever discontinued.

This is my second tube of "Valley Girl". It has a great texture, goes on easily, isn't sticky, tastes great and lasts a long time for a gloss. The color is very flattering for my lighter skin.

Let me start off by saying that I am not a lip gloss girl at all, but I love this product. I have this in "Pin Up Girl" and its a sheer Christmas red. It smells great, its tasteless, and its incredibly moisturizing and not at all sticky. I find myself reapplying this several times a day just because it hydrates my lips so well. The glossy-ness doesnt last but the color does linger for awhile. Its a goner after eating or drinking as is the case with most lip products but it never leaves that nasty ring around your lips that so many other glosses do. This shade would be perfect for those that have a hard time finding the perfect red lipcolor or arent quite confident enough to wear a full on red. I have the original packaging that has the sponge tip applicator and it just glides on. 5 stars!

I love this lip gloss- adds just enough color not to look overdone and adds the look of gloss without being sticky and gross. Keeps my lips moist and protected from the summer rays. Just not sure what sephora's buyers/management was thinking to stop carrying the line in store. Only available online at least in California - really sephora - BRING IT BACK TO HAVE IN STOCK IN STORE

This "gloss" does not feel or look like a gloss on your lips. I purchased it specifically because it was classified as a gloss and it has SPF. The consistency is strange; it absorbs into the cracks of your lips and appears dry. Not glossy whatsoever. Would not recommend.

This lip gloss is the best. It is not sticky, the color is cute and subtle (Daddy's Girl), it smells good (but doesn't taste like anything), feels moisturizing, and it is SPF17! My tube is almost empty, and I can't wait to get a new one.

This gloss is the balm! I've used so many different lipglosses over the years that never lived up to the hype, but this one is different. It's highly moisturizing, goes on smooth with the doe foot applicator, and has SPF 17. I will keep purchasing this product for sure.

I have this in "girl next door" and love everything about this gloss. My lips feel super moisturized after using this. It's not sticky at all and has a great fragrance and taste. This delivers the perfect amount of color and lasts longer than most glosses I've tried.

This lipgloss goes on well and is not sticky at all. It's a lipgloss you can wear with your hair down. There is a banana scent but it doesn't bother me and it goes away quickly. The glossiness doesn't last as long, but the color does and you are left with more of a glistening that is very pretty. It makes my lips feel great and I like that it has SPF. I first got Dream Girl and I like it. It's a nice soft pink color. I went back and got It Girl and like that even better. It's MLBB. I would recommend this.

This lipgloss has the most unique texture of any gloss I've ever tried. It feels extremely soft and moisturizing on the lips and the smell is delicious. The feel is definitely more of a balm than a gloss. My favorite part about this gloss, though, is that it's much more natural looking than any other gloss I've tried. Because it's more of a balm in texture, it's not as glossy or overtly shiny as other glosses, which makes it look more natural.
