An unnecessary extra step- 11.20.09
I used Bareminerals foundation with a passion, but I found that their primer does nothing to enhance the longevity or matte-effect of the foundation. It feels greasy when applied, though it absorbs quickly. I think oily skin such as mine is better off without an extra layer of stuff.

This was just o.k.- I have tried so many of these primers and the best one is smashbox-clear no color primer. but unfortuanately it is one of the more expensive ones. My next purchase for primer will be that one.

Makes a good produce better- 11.19.09

I was skeptical at first because doesn't silicone clog things up? Make things stick? I was worried it would clog my pores. Then when I felt the product on my finger, I was sure this couldn't be good. But what a surprise!!! I only have to use a small amount, smaller than the size of a pea, and it covers my entire face. But the best part is how SILKY it feels! My skin feels so soft and silky and the bare minerals foundation goes on smoothly. I have rosacea and was a bit afraid of how my skin might react. No problem!

I use the bare escentuals line because I have sensitive skin and it does not break me out and I thought the primer would be the same, but I was wrong. It's silicone based and broke my skin out with pimples like I have not seen in years. If you have sensitive skin stay away.

It didn't seem to keep my makeup on longer or control oil. The good thing is it didn't make my skin oiler or break me out. I do like the texture of it. It's light weight and my brush does glide better. So for those reasons it's okay. I'm still looking for "the" primer.

Prime time is essential when using bare minerals foundation. It truly smooths my skin and helps my makeup to last all day! It even softens some of my imperfections like scars and large pores so that the foundation doesn't build up in those spots. I do not recommend skipping this step in the bare minerals process!

I love bare minerals and have been using it for years...i wanted to try this primer because i thought it would be as amazing as all of her other products i have tried. And to my sadness this primer made my pores appear even larger and my face over all verrry oily. Not to mention made my foundation clump and appear caked on especially on my nose and t-zone.
