I am 54 and was looking for something light for our hot southern summers. The Sephora sales person said pointedly, "the more makeup you wear, the older you look, so try tinted moisturizer". I spent some time with 4 different brands--Tarte, Laura Mercier, Lancome and The Balm. Balm Shelter has by far the lightest and cleanest texture and still gives me great coverage while staying out of my wrinkles--I have some redness and general wear and tear. Great price point, too. What a great find!

Great foundation- 03.13.10
Quick Take: contains SPF, lightweight
for having such coverage the colors blend well. I got light medium, I am not fair but would not call myself medium, they are out of light. Smells just like covergirls tinted moisturizer so that kinda sux. I dont really like that and the moisture did not last that long. I use Bare Minerals foundation and veil and it makes my face dry and itchy. After like an hour of putting TheBalm on it started to lightly itch, Well it's hot here in Phx so my face was sweating. I dont know, it's alright you have to just experiment. Some will love it and others not so much. I just got it so thats why I am giving it a 4 I need to give it a week I think it has great coverage it just made my face kinda shiny and dry.
I mix this with my moisturizer and love it. It gives beautiful, dewey, light coverage and I have gotten compliments on how great my skin looks when I wear it.

I love this product. I first bought it a year ago and my first bottle lasted the entire year. It adds just the right amount of color and moisturizer without feeling heavy or caked on.
I've used this product for a year now, and am still extremely happy with it and will buy it again. It gives me a fresh, dewy look, evens out my complexion, and provides SPF 18 - wonderful combination.
I love this tinted moisturizer. I do not like a heavy makeup feel but need my skin to be evened out. This evens out my skin without a makeup feel. My skin is on the dry side so I do use moisturizer and eye cream before I apply this. My skin feels dewy all day but not greasy or shiny
I bought this tinted moisturizer at least 2-3 months ago and I still have a good amount of product left in it. Aside from that it moisturizers well and gives you that dewy look without the greasiness, plus it's a great value! A++
I LOVE this tinted moisturizer! I don't like wearing any foundation or powders so I'm always on the look out for the best tinted moisturizer and I have finally stuck with this one. I highly recommend it. :)

I LOVE this tinted moisturizer!! I bought it in both light and medium, so that I can wear light (in the winter, when I am at my lightest) medium (in the summer when i have a nice tan) and so that I can mix both together to create my own "light/medium" (for the spring time.) - This TM goes on very smooth and gives nice coverage, not too sheer, but not heavy at all. It lasts all day and doesn't let my skin get shiny like other tinted moisturizers do. Also, the SPF 18 is a plus! GREAT PRODUCT :)

great tinted moisturizer- 02.18.10

I got this moisturizer because I moved to Hawaii, and wanted the SPF. It works well on my sensitive skin, but It is more like a foundation than a tinted moisturizer; the coverage is pretty thick. Also, I have pretty light skin, so I got the light/medium color, thinking it would be good to transition myself to more of a tan. The color is still too dark for me, so I'll have to wait til i get a little more tan before I continue using it.
this stuff is great. unfortunately, i have the DRIEST face of all, so for me it wasn't AS moisturizing as I had hoped, but for someone with normal skin, this stuff is amazing.
ok, it's just too cheesy, i can't complete that sentence. however, i can give this product a rave review. i LOVE this tinted moisturizer! it's super creamy, very hydrating & a decent SPF - leaves the skin looking dewy and fresh! i'm not a foundation kind of girl, i just need a nice sheer coverage and this fits the bill beautifully. you don't need too much so it lasts quite a while. my only problem is this isn't available in Canada (even though my local Sephora carries the line) so I have to travel south to stock up.
i lovee this moisturizer! it just blends in with you skin, and doesn't feel caked on. I wear it all the time, and its lasts.

I *love* TheBalm Tinted Moisturizer. I don't normally use it during the summer b/c of humidity, but during the Winter / Fall, when it's drier it is *amazing*.
