Surprised by quality

Quick Take: good value
I bought this for a trip and where I would be leaving it in my 2nd toiletry bag and used for trips only. To my surprise the first time I used it, the color was bold, blended well and lasted for a fairly long time. I bought the neutral color for a more natural look during the day but was easily altered for a deep smokey look at night. Because of the color and quality of the powder, I added it to my daily make-up routine.

Completely what I'd expect from Clinique. Nice soft colors that blend well. I ordered "Come Heather" and the light cream is the largest one, not the light purple. Doesn't bother me though. I combine with shimmery shadows since this set is completely matte.

Great everyday shadow trio

Quick Take: just as advertised from a trusted company
I have been using this shadow trio regularly since I bought it. I thought the two darker shades might not be right for everyday, but they turned out to look very good against my blue eyes. After I put the medium shade on the lids, I use a make-up sponge to blend it in a bit, because it does look a bit dark without doing that. This is a nice matte trio for a "neutral" look, while adding some color and depth to the eyes. I also really like the darkest shade for lining the upper lid and use one of Sephora's liner brushes for that. I have used various Clinique products for years and typically find them to be of great quality and very good for sensitive skin.

I've always liked Clinique and this group of colors, totally neutral, is great. Good for everyday, and if you use more of the darker shade, good for evening as well. Goes with everything.

Quick Take: good value
I love the colors and it blends very easily.I purchased with Sephora and didn't pay any more than other retail stores and I think the service was excellent for a holiday weekend. The girls at Mohegan's Sephora really were wonderful and very professional on a busy time of the year.

Quick Take: good value
This is the first Clinique product I have ever purchased and I love it! I bought Coral Reef and the colors are beautiful. They glide on smooth and silky. I forgot to put my primer on and it didn't matter...no creases or rub off for me! I usually wear UD eyeshadow and I love those but I think I'm starting to like this little trio even better! The ONLY complaint I have is the little brush that it comes with. It was pretty much useless for me.

"Come Heather" Not as Pictured

Quick Take: portable, lasts all day, not as pictured
I used Clinique's eyeshadow in the trio "Come Heather" for about a year.
The colours were beautiful, flattering, and lasted all day. I know I have bought this palette three times.
But therein lies the problem. The mini palette itself did not last very long, not more than three months usually. Even so, I liked it enough and it was good quality.
However one day I bought this eyeshadow and instead of the mid-tone being the largest colour as pictured, it is now one of the smaller squares. The largest part is now the palest colour. This meant that this palette wouldn't last very long without that mid-tone, so I bought a Nars eyeshadow in D. Gorgeous which is a perfect replacement for that colour.
Then I found that this eyeshadow didn't blend well with Nars. I was annoyed enough that they changed the palette, so I have found other replacement colours. I now use Urban Decay's "Virgin" and "Rockstar," which a near exact shade to that darkest colour in Clinique's trio. The other shadows I have bought are much better quality.
I would actually buy this trio again if it were switched since it was extremely convenient to carry around in my purse, and the set looked flattering no matter what I wore.

Totally Neutral Is Totally Versatile

I bought the Totally Neutral trio to replace a more subtle (as in more office-appropriate and, admittedly, boring) neutral eyeshadow duo by Clinique that was apparently a special edition and no longer available. At first, I was afraid that the darker shades would be too khaki or olive on me and not as neutral as I would have liked, but I've really grown to love this trio. It's the perfect everyday neutral eyeshadow palette because of the range of shades (very light, medium, and dark neutrals) and the texture (velvety with just a hint of shimmer). In addition, it seems to have better color payoff than Clinique's eyeshadow duos, so a little bit goes a long way, especially if you're fair-skinned. While I use this primarily for my daytime/work look, you can also easily use it for a more dramatic, brown smokey-eye look.

Quick Take: good value, good value for quality of....not the order of colo, i will only order "solid" color shadow.
The product is great, but I would like to ask why there is always more of the brow accent then the actual two colors that are used the most. I am running out of the second color for eyelids, still have adequate of the darkest color and enough of the lightest for several pallets. The cost is too much for this particular "distribution" of colors.

The application is a little powdery for the darker colors and doesn't go on very evenly, especially for the darkest color in the crease. It doesn't last all day. It is perfectly average eye shadow; definitely not the best for pigment and staying power, but also not the worst I've ever tried in terms of flaking.

Quick Take: chalky, wears off quickly
I received the Heather trio as a gift from a relative. I thought the colors were pretty, but the application is horrendous. The brush is garbage because you can't control the application. Even with my own brushes, the consistency was very chalky and splotchy for the light colors, and extremely low in pay-out for the dark. Oh, and you better use one heck of a primer because this stuff has no staying power. Won't be purchasing.

I got this in Totally Neutral and love it. Every bit as highly pigmented and blendable as Bobbi Brown eyeshadow at a fraction of the cost. The colors are lovely taupes, great for daytime looks on fair skin, but maybe too subtle for darker skin tones--is buildable for more drama. I didn't have any trouble with creasing. This is not as smooth or pigmented as Lorac or Stila, but also not so shimmery, good for more natural looking makeup.
