SEPHORA COLLECTION Classic Retractable Travel Powder Brush #51

What it is:This brush applies all types of powders evenly to the face and retracts into sleek handle for easy storage and travel. What it does:The lightweight metal encasing moves up and down the brush head, allowing you to open and close the brush as needed. When closed, the bristles are fully covered to avoid any in-transit damage. You can adjust the brush and use it for all types of applications. Fan in out fully to sweep powders, blushes, and mineral makeup, or bring the shaft up for more concentrated pigmentation with eye shadows or bronzers.

Bristles fall out
-05.21.13
This brush was recommended to me. I like the feel of the bristles but they fall out really bad!

Good make-up bag brush
-05.12.13
This is a good bronzer brush and the fact that it's retractable makes great for make-up bags but I wish it didn't shed quite so much.

Great brush!
-05.04.13
This brush is perfect for applying mineral makeup! Smooth and soft - feels great against my skin - the results are perfect every time! The brush stays in great condition due to the retractable case, making it a great buy with longer lasting usage! :)

Quick Take: soft bristles
This is a great, soft brush for keeping in your purse. I use it with my NARS pressed powder for touchups throughout the day. I have no complaints about it at all. It doesn't shed on me, it's compact, and the lid stays shut. Make sure you leave it open to dry completely when you wash it to prevent mold from growing on it!

Great brush
-04.06.13
I love that this brush can be protected by retraction. I don't have a problem with the bristles coming out. I use it for my powder. It travels well also.

Bristles Fall Out Over Your Face
-03.15.13
Quick Take: what ever hair it is it falls out
I am taking it back as soon as I get back from this trip. The bristles fall out all over your face and I had to give my face a shot of air from the blow dryer to get the bristles off. For $29.00 Sephora should do a lot better than that. I have been happy with most things I get from Sephora but several things in this $200.00 plus batch of make-up I bought before my trip were real losers.

Perfect!
-02.08.13
It's soft, protected by the handle and it distributed the powder evenly. Who can ask for more?

Good Everyday Brush
-01.30.13
Quick Take: soft bristles
I do not have the problem that the other reviewers have with bristles falling out of this brush. Mine has held up just fine. I am a "brush snob" and all good brushes will cost you mad $$$$ so I tend to take care of the ones I have. You will have to care for this one as well as all the Sephora brand brushes. It is a good quality brush for everyday use. Soft bristles but highly controllable. It is a great brush for bronzer. Some brushes just squash or pick up to much powder. This one does not. Clean it every week and it will be fine. This is the brush I carry with me for fast touch ups. It has not disappointed me yet.

favorite blush brush :)
-12.12.12
Got this because the blush brush that came with my blush was falling apart. I absolutely love it. It's soft and gives you a soft but defined blush on the cheek. Although it is a little stubby and wide, it still fits in my makeup bag for home and travel. :)

Good
-10.18.12
I have had this same brush for a couple years. It has worked well, but after multiple cleanings the bristles are breaking off. They area black and make it look like I have small black hairs on my face. Time for a replacement!

Bristles are not soft
-09.21.12
Although I liked the size of this brush, I returned it because the bristles were too abrasive. I instead purchased the Sephora Pro Flawless Light Powder Brush #50 which i LOVE.

Bristles Fall Out
-09.20.12
Quick Take: sheds
I bought this brush because I was looking for a powder brush that wasnt too flimsy or too stiff and it seemed perfect. When I first used it I noticed some of the bristles falling out and figured it was just because it was new. I have had it for a few months now and use it daily and the bristles STILL fall out, and not just a few but at least 10-15 each time I use it. I don't know how there are still bristles left in it! I have tried brushing it out and I take good care of it but nothing has helped. It is a great brush but the bristles falling out has made it not worth it for me.

Sheds :(
-09.04.12
Quick Take: soft bristles
I guess I can say it's an "o.k." brush.
Pros: soft (but there are better), convenient for travel and cleans easy.
Cons: Sheds a lot and a bit expensive for what it is.
If I had the choice, I would not buy it again.

Nice Brush
-08.30.12
Overall, this is a good brush. My favorite part is that it is a covered retractable brush, which is great for purses. My biggest problem is that the bristles fall out all of the time. However, I searched a lot for a brush like this to no avail. So if you are looking for a travel-ready blush brush, this might be your best bet.

Too bad
-08.27.12
Was so looking forward to having a quality brush with a nice travel feature...
...too bad the bristles fall out EVERY time I use it and they end up stuck to my face. Poor quality.

It's aight.
-08.17.12
I had been looking for a good retractable brush & I got this at Sephora. There's good and bad:
+soft bristles
+fairly compact/travel friendly
-the hairs fall out easily
-hard to clean
It's alright, but I stopped using it after awhile. Maybe it could just be that I don't like retractable brushes.

Positive: Retractable and easy to travel with
Negative: Bristles will fall out all over your face and clothes
