Quick Take: long lasting, doesn't feather, good color
This is one of my favorite lip stains. It's a cream, so it doesn't get streaky when you apply it. It does tend to get a little dry quickly, so if you want darker color, layer it a little at a time and add a lip balm over it a couple minutes after applying it. Altogether it's the best one I've used to not feather or fade and give me that old lady lip-liner look.

Quick Take: not a real "stain"
Usually I like Laura Mercier and use a lot of her products. This so -called stain stayed on for 4 minutes before fading and left a strangely chapped feeling on my lips. So I went back to using her regular lipstick, which at least feels good--although it too fades in a matter of minutes.

I love this! I don't usually wear stains, But this stuff is so nice. Even though I got anyone lighter color, shy pink, it still lasts long. But the best part is it doesn't over dry the lips and has some gloss/shine to it. I love the shy pink color, a your lips but better color. Wish they had a larger color selection!

This lip stain delivered a nice opaque color, but it was much more like a lipstick than a lip stain--the color rubbed off within five minutes!

Quick Take: non-drying, long lasting
Inwas looking for a nude lip look that didn't make me look like a corpse and this stain was recommended to me by a beauty consultant.
She paired it with a LM nude lip gloss and the effect was beautiful. I never would have looked twice at a product named Shy Pink without the recommendation.
Because of how light the color is, I can't say how well it stains the lips, but the color does seem to last.
I'll be trying this out in other colors, as well as replacing the shy pink, which has since been lost.

love lip products and this is an instant favorite. if you google my website, my boyfriend hates makeup, youll see my swatches. love this. highly recommend if you like marker stains.

Pretty, but not perfect

Quick Take: natural, not long-lasting
A really easy stain for on the go, I got this in Shy Pink and it's a nice natural go-to color for me. It isn't as stain-y as some other products, it's much more of a creamy lip balm than a stain, but I sort of knew that going in. If you're looking for a great color and a simple apply-with-your-fingertip product that's what you'll get. But don't expect it to be particularly long-lasting.

A very demure color- this is nice, but almost too light for my lips which are naturally quite pigmented.
Lasting power is better than a lot of lipsticks but not as good as some liquid stains.
Def. need a lip brush to apply which isnt awesome for touch ups.

I purchased this in the color "Sugar Violet" and it provided a beautiful color on my lips. I can wear it really lightly for a stained effect or apply a little more for a more dramatic dark violet.

I'm very pale skinned and I got shy pink. It actually lightened my lips! Although I like the creamy consistency, I have to put much darker lipstick on it. Lip gloss??? I don't think so.

Quick Take: non-drying, long lasting
I have been looking for a lip stain that doesn't immediately spread like a Popsicle stain on your lips; that is NOT unevenly distributed. In short, that has some GIVE. This is it! This lip stain is lovely. I bought Sugar Violet, and I am extremely happy. It doesn't stay all day; however, it's not drying, and it's easy to revive the color - which looks good applied intensely or lightly - with a lip balm. I use my finger to apply ... and I can just press it gently. I've tried Stila cherry crush, DuWop lip venom, Gap lip stains, Benetint, Tarte lip stain. Nothing works like this does. It's smooth, nonsticky, non-goopy. It goes on easily, and settles into the lips slowly - as in, you have time to press your lips and move it around, and it's still moist.

I'm very pale and struggle to find a lip stain that doesn't make me look like i'm wearing costume makeup. This stain is awesome! I only gave it 4 stars because it tends to wear off in a couple hours. However, I use the retractable lip stain brush from Sephora and put a little color and then close it. Hours later, I open it up and apply it! Viola!!

Quick Take: great pigment
I bought this in Shy Pink and Sugar Violet. Overall I love the color that they both give off, however there a couple of things that I'm not a fan of: First, I find that these really dry out my lips for some reason. I know the description says it has the "comfort" "of a lipgloss", however I did not find that when applying either shade. Second, it does not of the staying power of a traditional lip stain. This is more where it is like a gloss, in that the color is pretty temporary. I'm giving it 3 stars because I think the colors are gorgeous, but I have to smother my lips in a balm and continually reapply the product in order to maintain the color throughout the day.
