I deducted a star because, while it evens out my pores, it doesn't last as long as I would like. It also goes quickly, and I wish I could find something this good cheaper. Other than that, it did an excellent job.

Its a very nice product for oily skin, but doesnt do the job 100 percent. After 5-6 hours my oil starts to show through, but this is the only primer thats made my makeup last that long, so if your skin isnt super crazy oily like mine it will work awesome for you.

Quick Take: lightweight, fast-absorbing, hydrating
I've been experimenting with several different primers over the past few years and this is my current one. I really like it, it's lightweight and makes my skin feel fresh and hydrated. I bought this one for the summer because I tend to get a little oily when it's hot out and so far this has helped keep my makeup in place without looking greasy.

Quick Take: lightweight
I used to be OBSSESSED with this product, now its sitting on my counter untouched. With the weather transition from coooold to hoooot my skin no longer has chemistry with this primer! Perfect for dry winter skin but not so good for oily summer skin.

Very nice... It didn't make my t-zone oily, but it didn't really control the shine either... My makeup did last quite a bit longer, and my pores were virtually unnoticeable.

Great light primer for summer

This product works well. Goes on light and holds makeup in place even during the most humid of days. A little goes a long way. I chose the light due to it being oil free which prevents any unwanted breakouts. I've been using it for several years now and would recommend it.

Heard that this was a holy grail product so I thought I would give it a shot but ended up returning it. It did make my face smooth and ready for a good foundation application but got oily very quickly and melted my foundation off. Gave it two stars because it was smoothing otherwise 1

Didn't Work for My Oily Skin

This was recommended to me by a Sephora associate- and I have never been led astray by them until this!
I have quite an oily t-zone so I went in looking for a primer with mattifying power and the ability to make my makeup last for a full day of work. This not only did NOT do the trick, but made it worse! It also did not seem to smooth my skin or make applying foundation easier or more seamless anywhere else on my face.
I would not recommend this to someone with sensitive/ oily skin at all. I have much better luck using Tarte's Amazonian powder to set my foundation.

I went into a Sephora store today, and was recommended this. I put it on half my face in-store to try it and compare to no-primer, and after a 5 mile run in humidity the side of my face with this on was still very very matte. I'm so happy I finally found something to help control my ever-oily skin!!

I've tried so many primers...the bare escentials one...the benefit porefessional one. I always come back to this one because, while it has a bit of a chemical smell, it does the job perfectly. It smoothes out all the fine lines and it doesn't leave my skin dry either. The Benefit one tended to make my skin flakey - this one doesn't do it! Plus, the largest size one is good bang for your buck!

This is by far my favorite face primer. It goes on smoothly, covers my pores nicely and leaves behind a velvety finish. It does not aggravate my skin nor does it cause breakouts. I've tried many other brand samples, but always return to this one.

this stuff is great! at first I was like do I really need a primer? and the answer is yes! I got the original-colorless in the small beauty to go size and that will last me a long time. It really evens my skine tone and works well with my Nars foundaton.

This primer was very nice at first, but it didn't make my foundation last all day. I have combination skin. I want oil-control, easy application of foundation, and for my makeup to look good even when I take it off. I found that the Hourglass primer did the trick.
