I am pretty happy with this device. It does hurt a little but it's quick so it's not tha big of a deal. I think the key is to find the pimples when they are just little bumps under the skin and then zap them 3 times a day. I have had pretty good luck with this tool.

So Disapppointed- 10.29.09
I was really excited to get this product and begin using it, convinced that this was going to be just the thing that would finally clear up my acne. However, I saw absolutely no improvement in my skin. In fact, I actually think that the blemishes were slower to heal and were more difficult to conceal than before treatment. I am sending this product back.

Quick Take: awesome!
let me just start, if you don't have at least a moderate to high tolerance of pain, this may not be the product for you because it hurts! (for a fraction of a second only).. besides that, i think the pain and expense is worth the results. i use it everyday, even during period and it works on everything from small to large. i even used it on big ones and white ones and popped ones (which it advises you not to) and it works within a day, at most 5 days for the bad ones. use it right when you feel a pimple coming and you'll never see it.

Quick Take: fast, easy to use, gets rid of pimples, recommended
I used to use the Zeno device, which worked, but I rarely used it because it took so long to use! Thermaclear is so fast and seems to work even better! I have fair, sensitive skin that gets red easily, but I have little to no red marks after using this. Also I don't have to replace the head! yay!

had to return item as it did not work for me. it did bring some pimples to the surface but did not rid of them the way i wanted. i mean who wants pimples on the surface anyway? the device may have raised them earlier than anticipated but in the end i still ended up with a blemish and a post acne mark that takes forever to leave. two stars since it did not hurt and the cost was good .

not a miracle worker- 10.15.09
i bought this about 3 months ago, and used it for a bit over a month religiously, it seemed to help a little, but not much. i then stopped for a few days to see if it would get worse and it didn't. i'm still using it every day right now, but i'm still getting acne in the same areas..i'll probably return it soon to see if there's anything that works better.

I've only been using this product for a few weeks, which is a pretty short time to see results, so I'm giving it 4 stars. I picked it because in the long run it's much cheaper than Zeno and it only takes a couple seconds.
It' was a little scary at first, but after the first couple times, the zap didn't hurt as much.
I haven't noticed an immediate deference, although I'm seeing fewer of the bigger, painful zits. I've gotten almost as good as results as using Clean & Clear spot treatment, but I'll keep on using Thermaclear to see if it helps more long-term.
My biggest advice- read the instructions before using- it says you can make your skin worse if you zap your skin when it's trying to heal.

It worked for me, but not sure I'll but it...- 10.11.09
Quick Take: effective
Ok, so my sister got this back when it came out. A little after. I initially wanted the Zeno (it seemed cuter somehow, lol) but then I read a review that compared both the Zeno and the ThermaClear and while the Zeno was supposedly less painful/bothersome than the ThermaClear, it also supposedly took longer and wasn't as effective. So I convinced my sister to get the ThermaClear if anything and she did. She let me use it and I have to say, using it like 2-3 times a day on a zit really reduced it. It's not a miracle worker, but I sometimes get painful cystic acne (not a lot, like 1 or 2 every so often) and this really took the pain out of it. It does sting and I find that unpleasant, but it's momentary and tolerable. It does initially bother a cystic pimple so use with caution if at all for that, but seriously, it did help me. I can't say I'd shell out the money for it myself because I'm now on the pill and that seems to be helping my problems with zits, plus a good cleansing routine is an important foundation to clear skin. But if I had the extra money I'd easily buy my own one. As of now, I'm still waiting. But odds are I'll eventually get one. Again, not perfect and not a miracle worker, but it does help so if money isn't a concern, I'd at least try it.

Ouch- 10.11.09
Was trying to treat deep painful acne. Thought this would help. Sadly I still have a red patch on my face where I used this, a year ago. Might be better suited for shallow simple breakouts, but can leave damaged areas if you try it on deep acne. I did find that it would 'freeze' the acne's growth and it would sort of 'die out' on the inside, but ultimately the product left me with red areas that still won't go back to normal.

it is a quick sting because it is short burst of heat, it's kind of like burning your skin. It might slow a zit but I didn't see any results. It's an expensive gadget.

Quick Take: efficient, effective, awesome
I love my ThermaClear. It's a little scary to "zap" and there's a slight "sting." But, I really love my ThermaClear. It seems to help heal the acne from the inside out. Drying out the blemish, and/or bringing it to the surface. To me, it's worth the price. I have oily skin, so I do not experience any drying. Don't know what it would be like for people with sensitive skin, but it has not caused any bad side affects for me.

I ended up returning this item. I gave it about two weeks and didn't notice much difference in my skin. I used my normal skincare routine the whole time and it really didn't speed up clearing my "problem spot". I could have given it more time but I thought it was just too expensive for the lack of results.

So this thing zaps you...kind of hard! It hurt so much on the more sensitive parts of your face like your cheeks, but didn't hurt that much on your forehead for instance. It also worked more effectively on the less sensitive parts of my face and got rid of the pimple within a day. But parts like my cheeks, it wasn't that effective. Plus, I'm kind of traumatized from getting zapped by this thing! I say not worth the big bucks.

I was really excited to get this product after I read the mostly excellent reviews. I have to honestly say that I am very dissapointed with it. I have acne that kept popping up in the same places-chin and side of face so I thought this would knock it out since nothing I've used has helped. Well, it seemed to actually make my acne worse and spread it clear down the side of my face and all over my chin more than it initially was. I gave the product a good month of use hoping things would change-but they didnt. Also, I did sanitize the device with an alcohol pad every time I used it so I m quite sure I was not spreading the acne due to my not sanitizing. I really wanted this to work :(

Quick Take: fast, powerful, incredible
I am so, so glad I bought this. For the same price as my harsh, drying prescription gel, I can get clear skin, WITHOUT flaking. While this doesn't work on little whiteheads, it works INCREDIBLY fast on those big, ugly, painful cysts. I simply zap them twice a day and they disappear - usually within 2 days! I can't recommend it enough.
