Made of an easy-to-clean faux leather, there are
interior nylon pockets on the left and the right are
made to fit all brush sizes, and the center pockets are
designed for a kabuki brush on top and a bronzer brush
underneath. An adjustable strap allows for the belt to
be comfortably worn around the waist or
over-the-shoulder. When you're done, simply cover
brushes with the nylon flap, then fold the belt in half

holds alot of brushes- 12.03.09
As a part time MUA this belt comes in very handy! It is very spacious which is great since it can hold lots of brushes and you can wear it several diff ways but i like to wear it around the waist. I read reviews on the velcro strap...i never really used it , for my personal use i lay my belt flat on my counter since it has my brushes organized for me already. I do not roll it up. About the SMELL....yess it is very overwhelming when you take it out of the plastic. Yuck! After awhile the smell does go away you just need to air it out. It's synthetic leather so that's what you get with it. My brushes haven't sunk in the pockets so far but its great to have for a makeup artist or even for personal use to keep your brushes organized!

Almost perfect- 11.23.09
I've been searching for a combined brush roll & belt. It's so logical I'm surprised there's not a lot more out there. This one seemed perfect until I put the flap over and tried to use the attached strap to secure it closed. The short strap (midway on the left in the photo) has the velcro on the wrong side. I'd have to twist it over to use it. I'm not sure if this is a manufacturing defect or not. Perhaps I'll exchange it for a new one to find out.

Makeup Artist Brush Belt Info- 11.17.09
It's an excellent way to organize your makeup brushes, it has plenty of room and is just great to use. The only major downside is that it smells like Moth Balls and no matter what I've done to clean it the smell just wont go away, now all my brushes smell like moth balls!

I love this because it fits all my brushes and they are all in one place but..... it stinks-literally. I aired it out for several days before using it and it has been a month now and it still smells like vinyl/plastic. My brushes even smell too. so it is a catch 22......

MUA brush belt- 11.09.09
Love, love, love, keeps my brushes organized and clean with options to wear on my hip or over my shoulder. I am able to put quite a few brushes and utensils in it. Excellent for MUA and everybody in between. As a MUA, I travel with a lot of brushes, I would, however, like to have the option of a larger size.

I would of given this bag a 5. but because of the smell i did not. The smell does go away after a while or isnt as strong. Small or larger waste can fit! or can be held over the shoulder! I hold all types of cards and other types of things to give to my clients! I am a walking makeup station with this belt! Great for home use as well to keep everything nice and organized!

Brush Belt Bliss- 07.20.09
Quick Take: fantastic
I love the new sephora Makeup Artist Brush Belt. It is not only a great buy, it holds all of my brushes and allows me to be able to quickly access my brushes when I am working. My only wish is that they sold them in the stores in stead of online. I shope the local stores and hate to have to pay shipping for something I should be able to get locally.

I love this bag. The smell goes away after a few days. There is one problem-- the strap that holds the bag closed is sewn wrong. The short piece of velcro has to be taken off, flipped over and re-sewn. It is an obvious manufacturing defect but it is not too hard to remedy and the bag is worth the effort.

I am a professional and have had difficulty over the years finding a bag to hold my brushes. I would change a few things but overall if is a satisfactory product. There is a terrible odor though and I would have paid more for it to be in leather - or even a canvas.

Love it! Does the job!- 04.02.09
Quick Take: fabulous
I am a photographer with a deep addiction to makeup and I do the makeup in most of my photoshoots. This belt's very handy, it makes it so much easier. I even use it when doing my own makeup. Everything's right there. I'd say buy it even for personal use. It's really great. Plus, you can't beat that price.
The only thing I did not like was the strong stinky smell. I can't even describe it, but it is smelly. Some time has gone by and it still smells bad. I am hoping it will eventually go away.

Versatile, Roomy, but a bit Smelly- 01.12.09
As a part-time makeup artist, this was purchased for my budding musical theater star to keep her Sephora professional brushes organized and protected. It is difficult to find a brush case that will hold all the brushes needed for stage work.
This case (apron) has plenty of room for all the basic brushes and even more for specialty brushes. It also has a couple of pockets to hold pressed powders and shadows.
Overall good materials and solid construction, should hold up for many many years. But make no mistake, this is not a brush case to just carry around in your purse. It is geared toward the makeup professional.
There was one small complaint. When we first received it, the man-made materials had a very strong smell that took a few days to air out. Now it seems fine.

FOLLOW UP REVIEW!- 12.30.08
Quick Take: good with a little tlc!
As of my last post on 12/22/08 I have some additional info on how to keep the "odor" out of the brush belt. I originally put fabric softener in the case before I roll it up...after 3-4 weeks I stopped, because, I thought that it was under control...I was wrong! I started the fabric softener sheets inside, again, & have started washing the outside material with liquid febreeze & a dish towel! So far this treatment has been working! I know that this seems like a lot of work, but, the brush case is REALLY great & has more than enough room for all of my brushes,sponges,etc. I just wanted to update all beauty lovers on my "solution" for the odor! Hope that this helps!!!

Surprising!- 12.22.08
Quick Take: worth the work
I really like this brush belt. But, it has the worst smell to it! I have found a solution for the odor...I put (1) fabric softener sheet inside before closing it up. After (1) week I replaced the fabric softener sheet & put a fresh one in! It really absorbs the odor! Continue process until smell is gone(about 3-4 wks.) w/fabric softener! On a positive note, ALL my brushes fit & then some!

Catch 22- 12.20.08
Quick Take: practical, smelly, spacious
I actually am a "Color Expert" in one of the Sephora stores. My representative was in the store one day and had this bag and I simply needed to own it! So I ordered it for work and was so excited when it finally came. I love the space and the compartments. They left no details out including a spot for my business cards! However with the good comes the bad. The bag smells terrible which is due to the cheap synthetic leather that is used to make it. I thought it was a smell that would pass as the product was used and aired out. However, this is clearly not the case. The smell just wont dissipate and it is rubbing off on my brushes. Another issue I have is that the strap is very smooth and is constantly getting twisted around in the metal pieces. So before I put it on for the day I always have to twist them back into place which is not an easy task. If they were made of a material that had a little more resistance it would have worked better. The last downfall is again I guess with the material, though I am not sure. My body gets so hot under the pouch and there is not room or ventilation for my skin to breathe. Whenever I take it off at the end of the day I tend to have perspiration underneath where the bag was lying. At times it gets very hot to the point of it distracting me. I don't really know how they would correct this issue though. All in all I really do like the product but would like it a million times better if it were made from different materials.
