Not 100% convinced
-05.21.13
Quick Take: easy to use, a little goes a long way
A lot of the reviews mention how this is moisterizing and lightweight. Awesome for them! Although, the first time i used it, i was unsure of how much to use. I used a quarter-sized amount on the ends of my hair when it was wet. Once i blow-dried it, i noticed that the ends looked really greasy and waxy feeling - moral of the story: a little goes a long way.
Depending on how much you use, it can be lightweight. If you use too much, it will weigh your hair down. If you use a litte, it's perfect!
I do feel like i have thicker hair when i use this product. I havent noticed much increase in shine or decrease in frizziness. I trust putting this product into my hair because it feels natural and healthy - rather with other products, i feel like im exposing my hair to chemicals galore!
So, if you would like to use a product that is natural, makes your hair feel healthier and stronger, a little goes a long way, doesnt make a HUGE difference, and smells great - then this product is for you! It's different for everyone; but from my personal experience, im not 100% convinced that this is a must-have.

hair balm is the bomb!!!
-05.14.13
Quick Take: lightweight, non-sticky, easy to use
I like this product because it does not weigh my hair down; but it does the job of adding sheen and manageability for my hair.

Good smell
-04.27.13
Quick Take: too thick
Smelled good but too heavy and left heavy grease in hair that could be seen even when rubbed through.

Strong Scent and Greasy
-04.25.13
Quick Take: greasy, too highly scented
I am disappointed in this product. It's even too greasy for my daughter's hair which is extremely curly and frizzy. I have been using the teeniest amount but even that goes on too strong. I bought it for myself thinking if I didn't like it, she would. The scent is WAY too strong, so even if I would maybe treat my hair at night and wash it out in the a.m., the scent would probably never leave my pillow. I continue to like and use Carol's Daughter shampoo and conditioner but this is a no go for both my daughter and me.

Quick Take: concentrated
Works good but when it says use a small amount, use a very small amount. I have a lot of hair and a dime size is plenty.

I use this for when I put my hair up - I like the idea that while it keeps my hair back its also conditioning my hair. A little goes a long way.

After loosing my hair to chemo. A girlfriend introduced me to Carols Daughter. I have always wore my hair with a perm so going natural and my hair coming back curly is new me. I love the balm cause it keeps my hair moisturized without a greasy feel.

Meh... use it not to loose money
-03.07.13
Quick Take: non-sticky, heavy, greasy, strange smell
I bought this to get repair for my hair after I bleach them. I used it the same way it was indicated and my hair looked so greasy!! Like if I never took a shower in my entire life! I had to jump back in the shower to wash back my hair. I tried to put it as a mask, but with small amount and even heavy wash was not able to make my hair look normal. I have fine hair, that's probably why! I found a way! I use a small amount (like a dice) IN my conditionner, let it for 2 minutes and rinse ++++ It is working just fine, but I am always anxious that I will ned up woth a greasy head. I am trying to use it because I don't want to loose 10$ ++. If you have fine hair, don't buy this!

great product
-02.11.13
Quick Take: awesome
I have natural hair with a tight curl pattern (i.e. kinky) and am always looking for products that don't make my hair feel greasy. This balm fits the bill. I use it in conjunction with the Carol's Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey on my scalp to make my hair soft and manageable. It smells good too. Just a dab will do you.

Hair Balm-Liquid Pomade
-02.04.13
I thought this product was to give your hair a natural soft hold when doing pompadour or bump-its, though I've noticed it can quickly look greasy if using a finger-tip amount of the product.
I really want the vitamin protection so I'll keep trying to figure it out.

Make 4C hair shiny!
-02.04.13
Quick Take: healthy oils, shine aid, coconut oil, moisturizes
Look up how to make dark, coarse hair shine in an encyclopedia and you will see a picture of this product... okay you won't but you should! It really makes my hair shine and doesn't have the bad stuff that some shining products have. A little goes a long way. My hair is so thick and coarse you can't see through it and its shoulder length, yet I only need a dime size of it for a burst of long lasting shine. It has a strong scent, which I like, but if you're scent sensitive then this is not the right product for you. The scent does go away after about an hour or so on me.

Love it and the smell...
-01.27.13
Quick Take: lightweight, non-sticky, easy to use, shine booster
Smell is subjective. I see some reviewers complained, I actually like the smell. Any way if you use just a few drops like you're supposed to the smell goes away after about 10 minutes. The shine is AWESOME for 4B/4C hair natural or pressed hair. When my hair was relaxed I didn't care for it as much, but I love it on my natural tresses.

First time user of Carol's Daughter
-01.10.13
Quick Take: lightweight, non-sticky, easy to use, bad smell to product
While I did like the effect of this product and what it does for my hair, I do agree with another woman who wrote a review that I read after ordering it. The "odor" is not too pleasant. It probably is an ingredient and I do wish something could be done to mask it as it is a good product but my hair smells unappealing when I use it.

More Trouble Than It's Worth
-01.03.13
Quick Take: sticky
I would like to begin by saying I have a lot of hair. Every time I go to a salon the stylists will remark that I have 2-3 times the amount of their typical client. That being said, Using a dime-sized amount of the balm leaves my hair feeling (and looking) so greasy and sticky that I need to wash it again. This product really sticks to your hair and as such, is difficult to spread around without tearing any out. Even when applied properly I noticed no more manageability or shine than I get using similar products. The product smells nice and is organic, so it gets an extra star, but honestly, for something you are supposed to use so little of, it should spread more easily. (It is still very sticky after rubbing your hands together for two minutes.) I do not recommend using the product anywhere near your roots as the bottle says, as it will leave your hair looking matted and greasy, no matter how little you use.

A little dab will do you
-12.16.12
Quick Take: good for guys too!, moisturizing, shine-enhancing, curl-defining, cost-effective, long-lasting
Without this product, my hair is frizzy and dry-looking. With it, my curls are shiny and defined, so pretty that a stranger asked to touch my hair at a party! I've read the comments about the smell, and yes, it is herbal-scented. But just don't use too much. It's a pomade, so a dime-sized for a short, cropped do like mine is just enough to last all day. Great product for shine, moisture and definition for men and women!

A little bit goes a looooong way!
-12.10.12
I got this to strengthen my hair as I have brittle dry ends. I used a dime size of the product and worked it through my hair starting at the ends. It was great at first and then felt greasy by the end of the day. I think the mistake I made was putting it on dry hair instead of damp. I still think it is a good product....but more of a night time repair as opposed to daytime.
