Both colors in Dragonfly are shimmery and a perfect match. The description is exact, a Beautiful Soft & Smokey Purple, & a Soft Shade of light/med Gray.
These are so pretty for Spring... But I've used these in creating a Stunning smokey eye for the Winter also.
These colors look hot with a cat-eye black liner, and Stila's Diamond Eyeshadow in the inside corners of the eye.
Just Remember to buy the Refillable Single Pan Compact! It's not an exact fit, it works and it's the closest you can get to fit the Duos... I L o v e these shades together. Dragonfly is a beautiful choice.

Quick Take: good value, portable
Love the colour, love the dark shadow on my lids with the same used wet with an angle brush as a liner! Great shadow! great for when away since both colours are in one palette, and a great size since I never finish the larger ones!

Love the colors- 01.03.10
Quick Take: portable, vibrant long last color
This duo is fantastic. The colors are really vibrant and the pigments are really rich. With my eyeshadow base the formula didn't crease and it lasted all day. It looks good applied without a base as well for a look that is not as intense. I only wish the packaging was a little nicer.

not what I expected... but surprisingly good- 01.01.10
Quick Take: good value, portable
I have really been looking for a red eye shadow. I thought Kat Von D would've had a good one, but I settled for the Stila duo. It wasn't the red that I was looking for, but it was a shiny and saturated color that looked more sophisticated that I would have thought. The only thing is that the case is plastic and you need to use it as a refill... it won't really travel well on it's own.

good product, lousy packaging especially at this p- 12.28.09
Quick Take: good prodyct horrlble packaging
I was very disappointed with the cheap plastic packaging and lack of an applicator. The colors had come unglued and were cracked with the package partially opened I opened them up to press them back in to send back and got the shadow over my fingers. Instead of wadhing my hands a rubbed it on my lids-and I was sold. The color pigment is fantastic and can be used as a liner or shadow-with your right toolls. I decided to keep the product despite my initial anger. It's that nice.

This product should strictly be sold as a refill. I did not realize that I had to buy the compact carrier separately, I really just liked the color combination and wanted to try the Stila brand for the first time. I found this Duo to be over priced when considering the cost of the carrying case and the product itself to be nothing stellar. I will look for other options.

Quick Take: portable, gorgeous, novel
These duos are wonderful: after buying my first, Lily, I had to buy more! I now have a small collection, and they're all lovely. The shadows are well-pigmented, stable, and wearable.
Surprisingly, having to buy the pans separately doesn't bother me (I totally thought it would); they're cute little pans and have magnetic bottoms. Do these shadows fit perfectly? Not all the time. For some reason, the two halves of the circle are a) not in the same metal "tray," but two separate half-circle entities, and b) not always perfectly matched. Some of my sets are perfect matches, and they fit perfectly; others, they are slightly too big and thus overlap slightly in the middle. Luckily, there's enough room in the pans for them to stick up and still keep the lid on without breaking them, and the magnet underneath is strong enough to hold them in place.
The individual colors in their own half-circle trays offers a lot of freedom -- one can mix and match different sets' colors, stick them in a pan, and -- tada! -- instantly have a personalized pallet without having to take extra colors.
I only wish one could buy the colors individually, as well. The orange in Lilly is absolutely beautiful, and looks much better on than I ever would have imagined. I would love to have a full-sized tray of it, but Stila doesn't offer it and I can't seem to color-match it with any other brands.

Quick Take: imposible to fit in the box
It is a dissapointment, that neither of the two shadows that come in a Duo that I bought, were able to fit into the Stila box . The only one that fit are the single ones. They fit perfectly in the hole intented for (supposedly) single and duos shadaws . Whe you try to put them inside the hole, they do not fit both. One of them defenetly brakes.

Quick Take: good value, portable, intense
These shadows are amazing! Unfortunately, the only duo I own is the Kajiki :( Very intense colors that make my eyes pop (I have brown eyes, light/fair skin)! I actually add in the Wheat single shadow as a highlight along my brow, which really adds another layer to the "look". I have read other reviews of these duos, and I found that URBAN DECAY's Eyeshadow Primer Potion is the best for achieving the long-lasting shadow look that I see in photos. It is inconvenient that this is split into two separate trays for the refillable compact Stila offers, but the nice benefit is that you only buy a few and keep recycling them for different shadows. The only downside to these duos is that there aren't individual shadow "halves" that you can buy if you use one color more than the other. Overall, a great product that I am addicted too!

I liked the selection of colors available and I like that it doesn't make me break out. However, I found it annoying that you have to pay extra for the 'pan' that they need to fit into. Otherwise you have to be really careful with the plastic package that it comes with so it doesn't fall out. (which is why i gave in and ordered the pan too). It wasn't particularly long lasting on me though. It faded. Annoying.

I got four of these duos in Stila's Shock Value set (no longer available)- Borealis, Fandango, Orchid, and Terracotta. They're not SUPER pigmented, they look better wet. Orchid and Fandango are probably my favorites. It was really, really annoying that I had to buy separate pans for them. Another $2 and they were hard to get in!

I wasn't too impressed with this product. The eye shadow didn't fit too well into the refiller pan (it's magnetic and mine were repelling each other at one point). I bought the orchid combo (have brown, asian eyes) and I think the lighter shade is too sheer, while the purple one makes me look like I have a black eye.
