Quick Take: powder format, portable, non-cakey
This is probably one of the best translucent powders out there (next to perhaps Kryolan's). I have recommended it to both men and women because it blots shininess, it gets rid of a bit of the nose redness, highlights and it does not show as make up even up close. Fantastic product, it even has a little mirror... The downside... not all Sephora's have it in store and I have had more than a few of these break into bits from conventional transportation in the make up kit. The make up still works mind you, but in crumbled form it's much harder to open the case and not get the powder dropping to the ground. So I do recommend you buy if you are planning only to keep it at home.

Matte-y Mama!- 11.16.09
Quick Take: mattifying
I was sold on the packaging alone, but the powder is great, too =) I wanted something to take along in my purse instead of using my usual finishing powder which can BE messy at times. It helps to mattify my makeup and it's great for touchups in the middle of the day to freshen up. I also bought the Hot Mama and Bahama Mama and this translucent powder if perfect for making those two bolder colors look more natural. It doesn't have a brush, but I tend to find that a retractable brush always works better than a powder puff or flat compact brush anyway.

I love this stuff... My skin can turn oily after an hour but not with sexymama! I can't live with out it. I put it on under and over MUFE Duo Mat Powder Foundation. It really controls the oil and I don't feel like my makeup has melted off. If I need to reapply makeup during the date or night, I brush some more on under and over my foundation and it doesn't look cakey! This is worth every penny. Where have you been all my life TheBalm - Sexy Mama???

Colorless and mattifying, this powder is lightweight and very portable. It has a magnet closure with a mirror inside, which is very sturdy -- once closed, there's no budging, cracking, etc. as with hard-case powder compacts. Perfect for mid-day touchups.
EWG's Cosmetics Database rates it as a safe powder too - receives a "green" rating of only 2, which was a major reason why I purchased this:

Fantastic at controlling oil- 10.23.09

I love how this powder feels on my skin and how it makes it look without being chalky or powdery looking.
It was slightly smaller than anticipated, which is why I took a star off, but it's very easy to travel with and to use.

I did not have very high expectations, since my skin is very oily and nothing helped me before for longer than an hour. However, this majic powder keeps me matte for several hours, which is much longer than any other product out there. It is very light and gentle on my skin. By the way, the packaging is so cute and compact! Love it!

I read the reviews and was disappointed when I didn't have such great results, myself. This actually worked great as a mattifier when I used it under my normal powder foundation, or when I touched up in the afternoon. It didn't really provide enough coverage for me when I used it on its own. I do like the packaging, though.

This is so far the best powder I have been able to find. It is really great for a night out in the summer when you don't want to have any shine. My only complaint is its a little light, so you definately need a bronzer with it. But it really covers skin imperfections well, travels easy, makes my complexion look MUCH better. highly recommend. i only wish it lasted long...

I bought this powder mainly because the packaging is so compact. It comes with a decent amount of product and is just about as big as a business card holder. There is no mirror, but it travels well. The powder is nice too and eliminates shininess wo caking on.

Sexy Mama powder = less shine- 08.21.09

Really like this product. Powder is light and silky, although be careful not to use too much since there is a pigment you can overdo it and it has the potential to get a little cakey. I find I need to apply this twice a day when my skin is oily, but otherwise it's been great, and of course the packaging is so much fun. I only gave 3 stars though, because this product does not come with any kind of applicator, taking away the convenience of using it in public. You have to use another brush or puff from your collection. Also, it would be nice to see more natural ingredients.

This worked particularly well on my forehead. I put the product on with a compact puff but then had to buff it with a makeup brush because it left a color on my face. Once I did that though it was fine.
