I found Ole Henriksen's toner to be a pleasant smelling, gentle toner, but I have very oily skin and need the additional ingredients of salacylic acid to help keep my breakouts at a minimum. This is good for someone without the need for blemish protection.

Disappointing- 07.10.09
I love the scent of this product, and so I was hoping that it would be something I could use on a semi-regular basis to relieve stress, both for my skin and for my senses. However, upon following the directions and placing the mixture of water and toner on a cloth to pat across my face, I found it left a horrible burning sensation and redness on my skin. I have never had problems with the ingredients in this product before, so I am unsure what it was that caused the reaction; still, I'm very sad that I cannot use it regularly. I may be able to utilize the concoction as a steam-treatment, but I doubt its full potential will shine through that way. I'm very disappointed, as I generally enjoy this brand's products and was hoping I could use this one frequently.

Nice- 02.16.09
Quick Take: orangey
I felt like it really opened up my pores to let them breathe. So often people don't realize the cleasers and tones and lotions and other products they use leave a thick residue on the surface of the skin. The pores cannot breathe underneath all that. This was nice. And orangy?

a wonderful treat- 09.11.08
Quick Take: delightful for the senses, calming
It takes a little effort to use this product but it is quite simple once you figure it out. You just swirl it into a sink half full of warm water and get a clean terry cloth (wash cloth size is good) and soak the cloth in the mixture. Wring it out gently and apply the cloth to your face, inhale GENTLY GENTLY GENTLY (I found this out the hard way) and repeat the process up to 10 times. It's even better if you get your other half to do this for you while you relax in the bath. But all in all it is wonderfully relaxing and wonderful for your skin. And on this site it's labeled wrong...it's not a toner, it's a tonic. I was confused when I first got the product but since I have figured it out I hope this will help others.

Disappointing- 09.01.08
I failed to scroll to the bottom of the page, and then click on the tab that said "Suggested Usage" (that's a friendly, easy way to get info, Sephora!). When I read that something is called a "toner" I expect that it is applied to the skin. Not so. You have to mix this up in your sink, lean over the basin and breathe deeply. If that's your idea of relaxation, go for it. I found it to be a pain to mix up and not at all relaxing. My almost entirely full bottle is still in my drawer - shortly to be poured down the drain.
