Great product, tube...not so much
-05.07.13
Quick Take: lightweight, absorbs quickly
I love this product. Four stars because I do not like that the dispenser "hole" of the tube is too big. It causes waste of product.

Hope in a Jar SPF 25
-04.30.13
I have used Hope in a Jar in the past and love the way it sinks in to my skin with no greasy feeling. I decided to try this for the sun protection for an upcoming trip to Florida and Texas summer. It does not sink in like the original. Certainly will not wear under foundation again...I was an oily mess before lunch. Glad I only purchased the small jar.

Only sample I ever threw out
-04.12.13
Quick Take: smells bad, heavy, oily, disappointing
I got this as a sample, and really tried to use it all up, but unfortunately the smell just made it impossible to put on my face. It smelled like wet dog to me -- I don't know if that's the scent of all of the Hope In a Jar products or if it was the sunscreen, but I just can't bring myself to try any others. It also seemed very heavy and a little oily to me, and my skin is already oily so it doesn't need that. I was disappointed.

USED to love this :(
-04.11.13
Quick Take: absorbs quickly
I really loved this moisturizer (I actually used the dry skin version most of the year) but unfortunately it contains oxybenzone (read up) so I have to stop using it. I'm going to get my spf from a natural bb cream (love tarte) containing no oxybenzone and will prep with a natural moisturizer with no spf (korres) to avoid that ingredient. I wish Philosophy would remove it from their products!

Love this Moisturizer! !
-04.09.13
Quick Take: lightweight, absorbs quickly
After trying many different moisturizers with an SPF, I finally found one the my skin likes. I've been using this one daily for about 3 weeks and I can't be more satisfied. It absorbs quickly and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. It goes great under makeup and doesn't give me that shiny oily look I hate. I use a nickle size amount and it's enough for my face, neck and decollete.

Use in morning for SPF
-04.03.13
Don't need a lot..Glides effortlessly on skin & blends in well. Doesn't sting sensitive skin. I use this in a.m. & follow with Clinique Dramatically Different for Dry/Combo at nite. Work awesome together.

So unfortunate!
-03.25.13
Quick Take: intensive
First off, I love Philosophy products, so I was really disappointed that this wasn't the product for me. I didn't mind the sunscreen smell that some people mention because it faded pretty quickly and I liked the texture even though it was a little heavier, but I was using it for a majority of winter, so it worked.
The thing that did it for me was the red splotches and itchiness it caused. Even though I gently rubbed it in, I would end up with red splotches on my forehead, cheeks, and partly down my neck where I stopped applying the lotion. I'm just really shocked that a Philosophy product would react like that with my skin! I can't say my skin condition has worsened since using it, but it certainly hasn't improved. (It took me a while to realize it was the lotion. I assumed it was because I was taking showers that were too hot.)

This moisturizer made my face very oily. Sometimes it would also clump, which I find gross. I would buy the Sephora brand moisturizer --works much better at a better price!

Not my favorite
-02.21.13
Quick Take: oily, smells bad
I was excited to try it, but I really can't make myself love this product. It goes on nicely, but feels somewhat oily. It has a bit of a strange scent as well. It did tend to break me out a little bit, but not terribly. Overall, a decent product, but I have used better.

Great Lightweight Moisturizer
-02.16.13
Quick Take: lightweight, absorbs quickly, smooth
Unlike some other reviewers, I really like this product. I think it goes on smooth, blends well & really hydrates. I don't think it smells like sunscreen at all, but rather has a herbal lavender scent that I find quite pleasant. I buy the smaller jar, apply every morning to my face and neck, and it lasts 2-3 months. I'd say it's a great product at a good price!

Love it!
-02.06.13
Quick Take: lightweight, absorbs quickly
I have been a user of hope in a jar for years, so I know how great this moisturizer is. I decided to spring for the added spf, and there is a slight sunscreen smell, but it doesn't stick on you all day! Love it!

This is a lightweight, creamy, non greasy, moisturizer for your face. I like to wear it on my days when I'm not wearing make-up. I've never had a problem with redness or heaviness on the face. Really nice product!

Good daily SPF moisturizer
-12.31.12
I change moisturizers regularly. I'm not married to a brand and I think it's good for your skin to switch it up. As long as it has SPF protection and nourishes the skin that'll do. I used this one during late summer/fall and it was fine for my combo-dry skin. Now that it's winter I'm using their dry skin version which is hydrating my skin as well. The scent for both is SPF-ish if you know what I mean but the smell goes away after a few minutes. The white cream doesn't look white on you which adds another plus to this review. Not a 5-star again due to the smell but that's just me. To each their own. Sephora has a great return policy so try it.
