I got this in the shade Riviera. While the colors look gorgeous in the package they looked horrible on my eyes, the formula was very chalky and very hard to blend. I returned it.

Quick Take: cheap
This is first of all extremely expensive. These shadows are so poorly made they are comparable to bad drug store brands. They are almost pure thick glitter particles, that does not stick to the brush, and does not stick to your eye. Even with primer or cream on the eye, these shadows are not pigmented enough and do not stick to the eye. It is impossible to get any noticeable color on your eye. Really disappointing. I see some people had the same experience below. Don't understand how people are raving about this.

Quick Take: excellent texture, beautiful, super pigmented, long lasting
I absolutely love love love ysl eyeshadows. They lend very easily and are creamy (if that makes sense). These colors are perfect for day or night smokey eye. The color payoff is excellent so you don't need much product which means it lasts a very very long time! It is very pricey but once you try it you will absolutely love it!!!

Great greens

This YSL shadow applies well, stays on, no sparkle loss on the rest of my face, the green colors vary from bluer-green to more yellow green (#5 Garden of Eden) and complement my eyes which are blue/green/gold. The palest green looks almost grey in the palette, but works with the rest nicely.

Not pigmented enough

Quick Take: colors don't stay on, low pigment
I was so excited to buy this due to the beautiful colors, but have been disappointed and will not be buying again. There are several problems with this palette.
Firstly, the fallout is CRAZY. my beautiful center highlighter color is smudged with so much brown, and is ruined, as i can't scrape it off.
secondly, the orange and gold are kind of useless....they're very sheer and not flattering for even my golden brown eyes.
i was only using this for the brown and the highlighter. but the brown does not go on pigmented. you have to use a LOT of it, and definitely with a primer. it's not as dark as it looks. and like i said, it's messy, and it smeared all over my highlighter.
A similar color to the gorgeous shimmery beige is Urban Decay e/s in Vanilla. I have been looking for a similar brown, but haven't found one. But like I said, I won't be purchasing agian, because the colors do not stay on!!

Before I got this, I spent ages looking for the perfect colors that would complement my dark eyes and hair. I needed a brown color for the lower part of my upper lid, and some brighter colors for the rest of my lids to create dimension. I couldn't find a brown that wasn't too dull, nor was it easy to find brighter colors that (a) weren't obnoxiously bright and (b) perfectly complement the brown that I chose.
Then I found this.... ahhh. The colors are perfect, pigmented but not loud, very classy. I don't use the gold for daytime but it'd look beautiful for night. I also have a phobia for shimmer/glitter - but this did not bother me at all. Very natural.

I'd like to think that this is very Pocahontas. :) Expensive... yes. But since it's so pigmented, I usually only need to apply the colors once. Been using it for 4-5 months now, the brown's not even 1/5 gone. Love, love, love this. It'll be the only thing I need for my eyes from now on.

Colors are very pigmented. Can be used day or night. Colors are shimmery so if you don't like that.. you may want to pass. However, I love shimmery shades so I don't mind.With a primer my eyeshadow lasted a good 13-14 hours... until I washed it off for the night.

I was in my local Sephora and thought I was purchasing the YSL Pure Chromatics palette No. 3, which is a blue and brown palette, but this palette was stocked in the same place. This was my first YSL purchase and I wasn't familiar with the numbered palettes, so I thought I had the right one (both are No. 3 in their product line). After leaving the store, I wanted to check out my new digs and found myself disappointed that I had picked up the wrong one. However, the colors were pretty, so I thought I might give this one a try. The eyeshadows are smooth and shimmery, coordinate perfectly together and look beautiful against my dark brown eyes. I dye my hair auburn brown, so this palette works really well for me. It has become my go-to palette when I want a natural, office-ready, everyday look. I'm pleasantly surprised.

i tried these color on my hand and they are so beautiful. I decided to buy it. After I came home, I putted that on, but the gold is not natural enough for eyes. the gold palette is perfect for those who want super special looking. for those who buy eye shadow for daily uses, i recommend you not buying this.

A fantastic collection of great shimmery, gold-based colors! But they are very light and not very buildable. I have a medium caramel complexion and the colors are very sheer & barely noticable. I hate the silly sponge applicator. I mean, who uses those anymore? I wish YSL would create a compact that includes a small BRUSH applicator.

Quick Take: portable, good value
Colors are rich and vibrant yet neutral enough to wear everyday....I love the set and plan to take it when I travel. I suggest wearing a vibrant mascara to offset the neutral browns in the set but it is not necessary.....The set is beautiful enough to stand on its own.....a must for anyone's eyeshadow wardrobe.
