i LOVE the brushes as much as brushes could be loved. the only thing is i got medium and its too light for my skin color but dark would be way TOO dark too.. if you're planning to invest in a starter set then you should go to the store first and get a consultant for help with which matches your actual skin tone. another thing is that my friend said its really noticeable that i'm wearing powder on my face (maybe b/c color is too light), so ill try to use even less in the future.. but on a positive note, it really does make your skin look better even if ppl can tell youre wearing powder

This product is soo easy to use and gives a fantastic natural finish. You can confidently go out in daylight without the question of "does my makeup look ok". It'll look like you're wearing none at all (if that's the look you want) or a perfect finish. The brushes in this set are worth the value alone (although I bought a 2nd set and I must say the brushes aren't quite as nice in that set).

After a short hiatus with liquid foundation, I'm back to Bare Minerals. I'm still in love. Previously, the brushes in the kit were harder but the new one's are nice and soft. I get great coverage and much less oiliness. I was having a problem with acne and its gotten better. I like the feeling of Bare Minerals because there really is no feeling, it just feels like skin. The only problem is that it's not as long wearing as I'd like it to be, days are long and it doesn't last. I use the primer and veil but it doesn't really matter, it still wears off. I'm still going to get Bare Minerals because that's just a small price to pay for a nice, non-masky, oil-free product.

This is a very good product and does exactly what it says it does. It may take you a while to get the application right, but once you get it you got it! I love the PRIME foundation that Sephora added as a bonus, it makes your skin so soft! I was recommended this and I would recommend it to anyone, especially those with sensitive skin and want something all natural.

I have really fair skin and I usually wear foundation only in the winter to even out my skin tone and conceal a few blemishes. This is the only foundation I can use. The brushes are fab.

I was super skeptical about coverage from a powder foundation so I waited a year before trying Bare Escentuals. This kit is really great to figure out what colors work for you and the how to information is really helpful. I have to say that I am now a believer and will stick with this product.

Quick Take: good value, the light not the medium kit
I had horrible acne in my teens and early 20s. I took Accutane and it helped a bit, but I still had stress-related and hormonal breakouts. Facials helped, but not enough. So, my aesthetician recommended I try mineral makeup. This kit from Sephora was great! It helped lessen my reluctance because it had everything I needed to get started at a great price. It's been two weeks and I love that it is so quick and easy to apply. The finish is flawless! I get better coverage than I ever did with concealer and liquid makeup! Plus, it also looks flawless in pics and lasts all day! My skin is also so much better! I get a hormonal pimple here or there, but not the huge ugly breakouts! Definitely a mineral make-up convert! I recommend it to anyone with adult breakout prone skin, but only in conjunction with a good skin care regimen and frequent moisturizing.

Admittedly, I tried a shade too dark for my skin tone. That said, what I disliked about the product had nothing to do with the color. I have oily skin and the shimmer in this mineral make-up exacerbated that problem. I felt that the powder settled into every fine line and wrinkle on my face, highlighting them. The size of the containers vs the size of the brushes made application far messier than it needed to be. That said, I loved the brushes and still use them with other brands of mineral makeup. I also loved the level of coverage and until my naturally oily skin mixed with the shimmer in the powder I loved the way my skin glowed. I'm thinking about trying this product again, making sure I get the right shade, but I'm apprehensive because of the issues I had in the past.
