Quick Take: hydrating
Love this product for my sensitive/combination skin. It is perfect for summertime when heavy moisturizer is not required. Though it contains plant oils, it dries matte. It works like a primer, creating a smooth, dewey surface for sunscreen/makeup.

I used this daily for several months last year before moving overseas, and I have to say, I STILL miss this product. Where I'm living now (China), it's available in department stores and Jurlique shops, but the price over there is more than double what you'd pay in the U.S. Can't afford it. BUT I'll explain why I still miss this product: I used to have horrible adult-onset acne. Furthermore, I have really fair skin with dark circles and a proneness to redness across the nose. This product is phenomenal. It evened out my skin tone, made the texture of my face unbelievably soft, seemed to firm everything, did not irritate my sensitive skin at all, and made makeup go on beautifully. I also feel like it helped blemishes heal faster (at least the red marks they would leave would fade faster).
I've tried other moisturizers since then. Origin, Korres, Dermalogica, but nothing comes even close to comparing to this. I'm honestly shocked that some people have recently given this bad reviews. It has a medicinal smell, yes, but you can also certainly smell the rose, and the herbal/medicinal smell fades quickly. And yes, the product is runny, but it is a *serum.* A serum isn't supposed to go on like a mousse or a paste. It is a liquid. And what's particularly awesome about this is that, while it helps keep skin hydrated in winter, it's also AMAZING come summer, because it's not too heavy, and there's absolutely nothing greasy about this at all.
It does what it claims to do. And then some. And it's true; you don't need more than one pump to treat your whole face.
Yes, it's a splurge. But it's absolutely worth the money. You'll get so many compliments. And you will seriously see your complexion smooth out and brighten in just days. That's what sold me on it; I saw drastic improvements before I even finished the tiny sample packet Sephora had sent me once upon a time. I bought the 1 oz. size within weeks.
Okay, I'm done reminiscing here. Reeeeally wish I could use this product again. I looked so much brighter, healthier, younger. Try it. I can't imagine you'd be disappointed, but Sephora has an awesome return policy, so you lose nothing by trying. This is incredible stuff.

I've been using the herbal recovery gel for about 3 weeks now, and I've been getting so many compliments on how "creamy" and "dewy" my skin looks. It's very light, but provides a nice boost of moisture without being greasy or heavy. Combined with a good skin primer over top of this gel, it's a winning combo!! I just wish it wasn't so expensive.

From a pale, sensitive skinned, 28 yr olds perspective, this stuff is great. Doesnt clog pores, soo lightweight, day or night. One little pump is all you need, maybe 2 for the whole face AND neck. My skin feels SO soft and hydrated after having this for about a month now. Will buy again and it will be a staple in my regimen.

I used the sample packet that was sent to me for three days, and on day two I was already able to skip foundation which is something I'm never able to do. I love the non greasy moisture that Philosophy's when hope is not enough imparted, but Jurlique actually made my face better and got rid of all my redness! I'm sold. I honestly expected the gel to do nothing, so was I shocked at the results! I just wish they sold bigger sizes, but you need so little product that the price really isn't terrible. Only 4 stars for now until I can do a more full review later.

I received a sample size of this product and I liked the way it smelled and made my skin feel, so I decided to take the leap and purchase the full size. I'm so happy I did! I've been using it consistently for 5 days and I'm already starting to see results. My coworkers noticed something different about my skin and said it looked brighter and glowy. I, too, have seen a noticeable improvement in my skin's tone and texture. However, I find that I need to use a light moisturizer in conjunction with this gel sometimes because it's not all that moisturizing. Overall though, it's a great product!

I've tried all kinds of moisturizers, eye creams, anti-aging serums, but this product is everything in one. After washing my face this is the only product I use under makeup. It instantly tightens and brightens skin without any irritation. Its worth the money!

This gel hydrates wonderfully. As it dries, it seems to tighten my skin - not an unpleasant feeling at all, just firmer. In my area's high humidity summer, I use this gel by itself without additional moisturizer. It feels good all day. It also has a great herbal scent.

Smells fresh and natural. Nicely hydrating and did not make me break out. Fine lines seemed soothed, but only temporarily. Love the lack of synthetics. I'm not sure I'd buy again. If I did, I would use this as an everyday moisturizer, but not as a treatment.

I received this as a sample and adore! the smell. It felt good on the skin and I did not experience any stickiness as others have stated. I would purchase this product for the way it made me feel good to put the product on and experience the fragrance. However, $48.00 is a little too much to,just smell the roses.

Okay, from looking at the reviews people either love this stuff or they hate it....well, I love it. It gave my skin a dewy complexion and I love the smell. I have extremely senstive skin and eczema and this did not burn or break me out in hives......dang Sephora and their addictive little samples...now I'm forced to buy the full sized bottle of this stuff because it's so awesome!!

I honestly don't ever write bad reviews - but this stuff didn't work for me at all. It doesn't absorb completely into the skin and leaves a sticky residue, and the smell is awful. It reminds me of my grandmothers perfume. No thanks! This might work for someone with really dry skin.

I had several problems with this product, the first being the smell. It is so pungent I was tempted to not use it. Smells strongly of rosey florally type perfume. Second problem I has was with how runny the product is. When I applied the product to my face it stung a little and I got red splotched on my forehead. My face felt firmer almost immediately, then the product started to flake and about an hour later my face felt more oily than normal. I thought ok, new product maybe my face just need time to adjust. Nope, used it for a week and had the same problems. My face did not feel hydrated or firm.

I got a sample of this, so while I can't say anything about the long term benefits (which is why I gave 4 stars), this product was an absolute treat to use. It smells gorgeous, has a nice texture, and is very soothing (though slightly tingly) on the skin. I'm in love!
