Gritty and Sandy.

I purchased this because i loved the lancome single eyeshdows and i thought it would have the same quality but i found it very gritty and sandy. The pigmentation was OKAY but really i was very not impressed. I would buy the quad from bare minerals, its the same price and it isn't gritty, and it applies AMAZING, its also natural :)

Quick Take: portable, everyday look, smooth silky finish, blendable, classy elegant look, light and not cakey
I've had this little palette for years now in Modern Edge. I got it from a free gift set at the bay when my mom bought an expensive lancome lotion. So I've never paid for mine really. Anyways, I am absolutely in love with this product. The colours are very smooth and subtle. Sometimes, I feel like the really expensive palettes have an issue of being WAY too pigmented and shimmery to the point of no return. The lancome shadows here are very blendable, light, and satin smooth. The creamy light beige is my favourite. I use it as a highlighter for my eyes. I didn't have a problem with any of the shimmer, sheen, metallic or even the matte finishes! They were al soooo easy to work with! I think the modern edge palette would really suit older women 25 and up. It gives a really classy and elegance look! My suggestion is to wait for the bay to have a lancome sale. It is pretty pricey on it's own. Best of luck!

Quick Take: portable
These eye shadow quads by Lacome are amazing. They are blendable and long lasting. However, they are $43 for the four colors which is a bit overpriced for such a small amount of makeup. I think that although they are great, it is not worth the price. If you are into saving money, the closest to this Lacome product would be the Bare Essentials READY eyeshadow quads for $30

I have the old packaging of this quad but the colors are still the same. I used up all the colors bc they are so versitile and easy to use.

Quick Take: portable, good value, long lasting
i got this eyeshadow last year and i love it! it is great for every day wear and for more formal events. its container is durable and portable. the eyeshadow itself is long lasting, pigmented, and has some shine in one of the quads. it neither over powers nor over shines. its the perfect quad.

Good colors in the palette

Quick Take: portable
I bought this palette because I was desperate to find a mauve color that I had nearly run out of. The colors in this palette are really nice and work well for me with blue eyes and rather fair skin. The price seemed a bit steep for the amount of shadow you get per color. The only thing I don't love about this palette is the shimmer. The glitter really seems to fight with my eyes and causes me to get really dry eyes, so be cautious if you have allergies. Other than that, I love it.

Quick Take: portable, good value
I previously have had two Lancome Sensational Effects Eye Shadow Quads which I didn't really like, for a variety of reasons. I unexpectedly received a free quad to make up for a store error, after I received a gift with purchase at another store, since my gift was missing a similar (but not exact) item that should have contained four shadows. I'm glad I was given the Sensational Effects Eye Shadow Quad instead, since I ended up a good one. The purple shades in the quad I was given look great with my brown eyes, and lasts longer and better than did the shades in the previous two palettes I had. The case protects the shadow well, and is easy to transport. I'm glad I got another experience to try these Quads, because clearly the third time was the charm... Clearly some are better than others.

Quick Take: portable, seems dated
I unexpectedly got one of these shadow quads in a makeup trade. I traded some of my cosmetics for a box of unopened and unused make up products. Lancome's Sensational Effects Eye Shadow Quad in Glamour Era was in the box, although it wasn't what I was trading for. This is my second quad from this line, and once again, I'm glad I didn't buy it. (I think the other was a gift, which I got a long time ago). While the quality is excellent, and I'd expect nothing less from Lancome, this seems high priced for what's inside. I like palettes with more variety. This one seems dated, especially for the cost, although the compact is more solid, and better for travel than many of the cardboard ones being featured these days. Regardless of those issues, Glamour Era is too harsh for me. I'm sure it would be great for creating an intense smoky eye, but the shades just don't work for me. I prefer creating my smoky eyes with less contrast. While the quality is excellent, this doesn't rate more than three stars, because there's similar shades included in many palettes which include a variety of more usable shades. However, if you want to stay to a model/magazine perfect smoky eye, you might want to consider Glamour Era.

I have green eyes and my mother has blue eyes and we both use it. The quality is amazing too, it can be applied wet as an eyeliner with water on a brush or dry.

Quick Take: portable
This is one of those impulse buys that you later regret. I can't believe I spent 42.00 on this. There is nothing special about it. I was traveling and needed a small portable set as I left my full size sets at home, but really I think I will return it. I am so used to using eyeshadow brushes now and not those foam cheap brushes that come with drug store eyeshadows. For 4 colors not worth it. There are so many great eyeshadow sets that Sephora carries that are such a better deal, like the Lorac Box office sensation (which I love) and the Sephora Color Diary (which is a great value, but not so easy for every day use because of the big case). Even the Smashbox brown, blue, and hazel eye color sets are such a better value at 59.00 because they come with so many great products and not just the eyeshadow.

Great colors. Some metallic and some matte so good for both day and evening. Subtle or strong so I can wear every day to my conservative workplace and also ramp it up for times I want a more dramatic look. Not too much shine, just enough! Goes on smootlhy.

I got the glamour era quad and swallowed hard at the price. That's until I used it at home. It creates the perfect smokey eye that stays all day and night. Does not fade or smear. In the end, worth the money.

Nice eyeshadows. The haute-sunset colors are subtle. I bought a primer to appreciate the colors because without it, it does not blend that great. I used better ones like givenchy. The shadow feels a bit dry which applies well with a brush as opposed to the applicator. I have dry skin and brown eyes. Nice shadows but I would not buy them again.

Quick Take: portable, good value, crease resistant, long wearing
I purchased the enchanted evening and Glamour Era. These products are great and perform as well as the YSL and Dior shadows that I have at a fraction of the price (probably just due to packaging). These products can be very professional or evening depending on application and are long-wearing and crease resistant. The glamour era creates such a beautiful smoky eye and the colors do not look as beautiful on the computer as they are in person.
