Quick Take: not moisturizing
My skin becomes very dry after I shave (especially in the winter) and I was looking for an after-shave that restored moisture into my skin. After shaving, I applied the After shave balm and was disappointed. My skin felt drier than if I had not put anything on my face at all. Especially for the price of this balm, I was disappointed.

Quick Take: cooling, soothing, scented
I use the shave cream first, awesome close shave(just like waxing). Then I use this balm, I have NEVER gotten a bump or rash afterward. I highly recommend All THE ART OF SHAVING products. Not just for men.

Got this for my boyfriend, and he loves it, and all the art of shaving stuff. Definitely likes the scent too -- he's into taking care of himself, but definitely doesn't want the guys at work to know that, so anything too fussy isn't his thing. :)
And I definitely agree...smells great!

I'm not sure what sandalwood is supposed to smell like because every company's interpretation appears to be different. AOS sandalwood scent is fantastic. Most sandalwood scents that I have tried in the past have left me smelling like an old man however AOS sandalwood is fantastic. Very soothing and moisturizing. I highly recommend this and their sandalwood shaving soap as well.

I bought this for my fiancee and he liked the smell and that it was alcohol free ... but looking at the ingredient list, it didn't seem like there was actual sandalwood in it (just other essential oils)... does anyone know?

This is my husbands favorite after shave. He has sensitive skin and this really seems to help. I know that if he didn't like this stuff, he would search for another brand, but he hasn't. He even asked if I could order it online!
