After getting a sample with a previous order, my husband has been drooling over this product. He has very sensitive skin and has to be picky about his products. The smell is clean and not over powering.

Quick Take: just what you need to keep your lady happy
I bought this for my fiancé and its sooo good! He Actually enjoys shaving now. His skin has improved drastically it looks so much healthier and I couldn't be happier with the results. I Recommend this to all men..

Quick Take: manly smelling, leaves skin smooth, rich
I bought this for my fiancé, and he absolutely loves it. It smells nice and he feels pampered after using it. His only complaint is it is time consuming with his razor and we think it might be ideal with an old fashioned razor instead. Regardless, his face is baby butt smooth after he uses it.

My boyfriend shaves his end with an old school merker razor and he wanted high quality products. I remembered that Sephora carries A.O.S products so I bought him this kit for his bday and he loves it!

My guy has medium golden brown skin, normal to dry skin, medium thick facial hair. His skin is prone to ingrown hairs, razor burns, breakouts which in turn lead to scarring.
Results: Extrmely close and smooth shave. The cream and oil are incredibly conditioning, moisturizing, and allows a perfect flawless barber shop like shave minus the barber's razor. Everytime he uses this stuff, his skin is free of burns, ingrowns, and break outs. With in less than a 2 month use, his facial hair has grown back a lot finer and all those breakouts and scars were something of the past for good. Note- a little goes a long way. My guy shaves every am, its been 7 months now and he is just about ready for a refill kit. For a guy whose got a little grooming problem or whose got everything, this makes the perfect gift. If you're guy isn't afraid of smelling sexy, get the sandalwood. The scent is strong at first, but lingers lightly throughout the day. I love it!

It really is the perfect gift for the guy who has everything as they hardly ever put a lot of attention into what they do all the time-shave! It has given him the best shaves whenever he uses it and has even helped with the occasional breakouts. Plus I love the smell of the Sandalwood- very manly.

I got this set for my guy for Valentine's day two years ago and he is still using it. He says that the set gives him a really close shave and softens his skin. It has also made shaving fun for him. It also smells nice and subtle which is great for me. :)

I bought this for my boyfriend because he has sensitive skin. He likes that shaving cream but the oil gunks up his blade. He still cuts himself but not as much (He actually threw away the oil and after shave!!). The badger brush is nice.
I gave it 4 stars because yes.. the oil does clog up your razor but you just have to patiently rinse off. I definitely didn't cut myself (which usually happens). The smell is nice and leaves skin soft.
This is definitely better than shaving with regular cream.

My husband loves the Art of Shaving products, particularly the Sandalwood. He refuses to go back to other shaving products after he has tried this.
The brush is very high quality for coming in a set, but make sure you track down one of the stands. You can get a matching plastic stand for $6 or $8 and it is well worth it, since it helps dry out the brush after use.
My husband says his skin is much smoother, he loves the subtle sandalwood smell, and he definitely notices a difference from what he was using before. He said that he nicks himself less frequently and has fewer issues with razor burn or bumps.
Although they said the sandalwood scent dissipates after an hour, we noticed on my husband's skin that it lingers all day. He likes the subtle scent and chooses not to wear cologne on those days (but could if he wanted to). He has a travel size Lavender and that scent definitely dissipates quickly.
Bottomline, great gift and great product for men.

i got this for my husband (who is impossible to buy for) for his birthday and it was a huge hit! it is a little pricey but lasts a long time. i now buy him the refills as he neesds them, i am not sure he will ever go back to any store brand. i also love the light scent of this sandalwood. it is still masculine without being over-powering

As a long time wet shaver and a straight razor user, I think of shaving as "me" time. Shaving is a ritual that is best enjoyed and not hurried through with a disposable razor. I find to get a nick free shave every time you need to start with a sharp razor, a freshly showered and exfoliated face, rub some oil on your beard and neck, then whip up some shaving creme with a brush. I make enough for 5 passes, I like to look clean shaven for work. Art of Shaving makes a superior creme, it can be whipped up better than many imported cremes! The brush is real badger, although its not best badger or silvertip badger or first rate badger, its pretty decent and the brush is very portable and isn't a shedder. Its way better than boar bristles for creme.
I do not use the Shaving Balm on my face. I use it on my arms and legs. My face does not need any more moisture after the oil and creme, infact I need an astringent (non alcohol) and salcylic acid. Even at 48, I have oily skin due to the year round miserable hot and humid Hawaiian weather.
Honestly the best shaving creme I have ever used and I consider myself an afficianado.
I do not use the Shaving Balm on my face. I use it on my arms and legs. My face does not need any more moisture after the oil and creme, infact I need an astringent (non alcohol) and salcylic acid. Even at 48, I have oily skin due to the year round miserable hot and humid Hawaiian weather.
