Ok so far- 11.21.09
I've only been using the powder for a few weeks and I'm still figuring out if I really like it and if it actually does help with lines. The coverage applies matte at first but I think it absorbs in and adds a glow to the skin. The colors are off because there are only 4 shades available. I'm not dark enough for the medium shade, but the light shade is a bit too light and whitens out my skin tone a bit. It is pretty expensive so I should love it.

HALO is not angelic- 11.18.09
Quick Take: full coverage
After hearing all the fabulous reports about Smashbox Halo, I thought I would try it. I have to say that the coverage was wonderful and appeared to give my skin a glow, covering large poors and hiding fine wrinkles. However, within 2 hours of using it, my face felt like it was on fire. I had a sever skin reaction that resulted in cracked, flakey, dry, itchy skin that is still not entirely healed after two weeks. I emailed Smashbox customer service and asked what the ingredients were in the product so I could be tested for an allergy to those specific ingredients. They not only did not send me the ingredient list but also blamed the skin problem on many other factors, none of which could have caused the problem for me. They refused to take the blame for their product causing my skin problem. If a company can not stand behind their product by supplying pertinent information about the product, it is not a company I want to ever deal with again. I will never purchase any of their products in the future.

unfortunately i didn't like this product much at all. i am a regular user of bare minerals, and this product was recommended because of the increased size (in comparison to bare minerals) as well as the lack of oxidization of the product. the coverage was limited, however, and left my skin looking cakey, and the product settled into fine lines i didn't even know i had. i eventually returned this product and went back to bare minerals, which provides ideal coverage.

Halo-Not worth the money- 11.13.09
Quick Take: too cakey, color was off
I had been using Bare Escentuals for over a year until I bought Halo a few weeks ago. It was NOT worth the money. The color the sales associate gave me was too pale on my face, and it made my skin look very cakey even when I barely used any product. I returned Halo and bought my usual Bare Escentuals, which was half the price and ten times better. Nothing works as well, though I will say that the Smashbox primer is my favorite.

I have used this for about a week now, but have not decided if I like it a lot, or not enough. The past couple of face powders I have had, were for medium/sheer coverage, and this offers more of a full/matte coverage.

I had hesitated to purchase this powder because of the price but I was finding that the BE mineral foundation no longer worked for me. I have very sensitive skin and don't do well with most liquid or cream foundations. The HALO powder makes my skin look bright and smooth but not shiny....and the color FAIR matches my skintone perfectly....I couldn't be happier!

My favorite so far- 11.12.09
Quick Take: oil-absorbing, sheer coverage, wear it with the primer
I'm not a make up person. I prefer the natural look. This powder does that. It's soft and looks natural. The secret is to wear it with the primer. I like the primer that has SPF (the pink one) but the others are also OK. If you have oily skin, wear it with less primer. For dry skin, wear it with a lot of primer. I have it in Fair and Light (one for Winter and one for Summer) Try it. It's a good buy. Worth the price.

This was reall just okay for me. I bought it because it claimed to have a hydrating effect-which it did, but throughout the day, it kind of had a metallic like look.. it didn't have much coverage either. Wouldn't buy again.

not sold on Halo yet- 11.11.09
I don't wear makeup everyday, mostly just for important events or pictures. In the summer I really like Bare Minerals as I have slightly oily skin in the T-zone and that loose powder seems to minimize the shine and oil, it also looks natural. So, why Halo? Well, I still have shine in the winter, but in MN my skin gets drier and I heard this powder was supposed to help retain moisture in the skin. It's OK. I used it just over my moisturizer the first time and I could see the brush strokes and they didn't seem to melt in to my skin as I had expected. Next I used it with the sample primer and it went on much better, but then my skin felt heavy/sticky all day. This might be going back.

This is my second purchase of this product. When it was gone, I thought I would finish some mineral powder makeup from another name brand before buying more HALO. I didn't even make it a week. I have tried just about every loose powder under the sun, and this is by FAR the best I've ever found.
A++ for coverage, realistic looking color, blends right into skin, spot covering blemishes, and also it's noticably been good to my skin. I don't have to wear any foundation underneath - just a little concealer in certain spots.
I was reluctant to purchase b/c of price but used every day for over 8 months and just had to purchase a new one so actually turns out to be cheaper than constantly buying bare escentuals or clinique powders!!

Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder- 11.07.09
Quick Take: smooth out fine wrinkles
This is one of the best make-up products I have ever tried. I had to experiment with it at first, since if I applied it by itself, the coverage was too sheer. However, it has worked amazingly well when I apply it as the last step, after a primer (I use smashbox photo finish foundation primer light) and another mineral product (like BE or lancome). After about 10-15 minutes, my face would become so smooth. All the small lines/wrinkles seem to dissappear! No other mineral products have done similar thing to my face. If you use a primer first, this smoothing effect will last at least 6-8 hours. My face seems to have less lines and no new ones have formed, but I'm not sure it's due to this product or the new anti-aging cream I have started using around the same time as Halo (about 4, 5 weeks now). You don't need to use a lot of this power to get the smoothing effect. Just very lightlly would do the trick. I like this Halo Perfecting Powder a lot. Will definitely continue to use it.

A DIVINE AND HEAVENLY CREATION!- 11.06.09

I love love this stuff! It's my first experience with a powder foundation or a "mineral" product. I was spectical that it could offer as effective coverage as a liquid or cream foundation, and I thought it would look dry and matte. Boy was I wrong! Easy and fun to apply with the included baby buki brush, you can build up to as much coverage as you want and it still never builds up or looks caked. It feels like you're wearing nothing at all because your skin can still breathe. Doesn't look matte at all, it looks luminous and feels comfortable even though my face is pretty dry. Adds a nice glow just as promised, and is easy to transport-no worry of spillage. Doesn't transfer off to clothing or hands but removes easily when you want it to. Lasts a long time and is WORTH EVERY PENNY! 5 STAR PRODUCT IN EVERY WAY!

I really do love this product. I like how you can adjust how much you want by twisting the container. I also use Bare Minerals (no offense to Bare Minerals), but I ilke this product better. I still use Bare Minerals as it is cheaper, but sometimes Bare Minerals make my face itch. I do not have that problem with HALO at all. I highly recommend this product to everyone. At least try it once. A little goes a long way.
I have combination skin and do not find this prodcut to be overly hydrating for my skin type. Yes, I had a healthy looking glow as well. I have had several comments on what I have been doing to make skin look beautiful. I tell everyone about this product. They comment about the price, but I tell them if they want their skin to like as fresh and healthy as mine they need to spend the money. Don't forget a little goes a long way so it will last.

I have been using this for awhile now along with the primer. I was taken back at first because I felt this was bit expensive. Never spent 60 bucks and then more for primer but I must say it has lasted me a long long time. So that is a good thing. It does tend to get a bit messy I end up with powder on the counter etc. I do like it because it does not look like you have make up on. It does not settle into my pores and it seems to last all day long. It is fast to apply in the morning when I am running out the door. So since I still have so much left I will just keep on using it. I do have to buy prime though.

This loose powder was better than Bare Minerals. I have combination skin and this looks flawless on my skin. I love it and have purchased it twice. It does seem a little pricey at first, but a little goes a long way and it lasts! Lasts all day, but be careful not to use too much, if you do it will appear cakey.
