Not only does the shampoo smell good, but it also cleans and adds moisture to my hair. I have natural curly hair (tight curls) and I keep it in braids at times. I purchased 2 bottles and I will be purchasing more. It's worth buying people!

There is a misconception that this product isspecifically for African Americans but it does a great job on caucasian hair that is delicate, dry, or coarse (my two grown daughters & I ). We also love other products from this line, they are a pleasure to use.

The shampoo really lathers yet when i started to wash out the product my hair began to get a little dry and didnt feel hydrated at all, i guess you really do need all the products in the set in order to be satisfied.

This shampoo is quite literally the best shampoo I have ever used. I've used everything from the cheap V05 $1.50 a bottle shampoo up to the $55 bottle of shampoo from the salons, and I've NEVER gotten the results I do while using Carol's Daughter. I came across it because I was looking for a more natural-based shampoo that wouldn't fade my hair (I dye it), while still being affordable. I went to my local Sephora and got a sample to try it out... I was amazed by the smell, first off. It really isn't strong at all... It IS strong-smelling directly from the bottle, but once you wash it out, it just leaves a light and yummy vanilla smell, I think it's pleasant. The reason I say this is literally the BEST shampoo I've ever used is because I have strongly damaged hair, relatively elastic-y from all the dying I do to it... I used Carol's Daughter on it, got out of the shower, got the excess water out of my hair by rubbing the towel like crazy over it (usually resulting in ridiculous knots and needing a detangler), and I was able to BRUSH my hair from root to end without catching a knot or having to stop and re-brush. No detangler. No conditioner. No serum. My hair is shiny and healthy and smells fantastic. It is incredibly smooth and soft to the touch. I can run my fingers through it easily. It makes me feel gorgeous. I used the leave-in conditioner, and I wasn't a fan... I took it back and got the hair smoothie (same fragrance) and I use it once a week, absolutely phenomenal. I can't recommend this product enough to anyone... it's amazing! Not heavy at all, not soapy-feeling, it lathers well, completely hydrates my hair without being heavy, and it DEFINITELY does NOT make my hair look dinge-y or coated. And duh, totally affordable! $12.50, now that's a worthy investment. I really hope you found this review helpful, because I truly do love this shampoo... I don't plan on switching any time soon!!

I'm African-American and I have naturally curly hair. It's thin and I am in the process of growing it out. I intially tried the Kohret Amen line and it dried out my hair and skin...the Hair Milk didn't work well either to maintain my natural curl. I returned those products and tried the Black Vanilla Collection...and I love it. You only need a dime size amount. My hair is hydrated and soft and smells so yummy. I use the shampoo and the smoothie once a week and I use the leave in conditioner daily to refresh my curl. I also use Hair Elixir to oil my scalp and as a hot oil treatment prior to my weekly wash. It does not weigh down my hair, which is important for my thinning locks. The combination of smells are so intoxicating!! I'm so glad I gave CD a second try. Prayerfully, these products with my vitamin regiment will restore my hair back to health. I'm hooked!

When I wash my hair, it normally acts funny until day two, then it behaves. The first time I used it my hair didn't act that way. It's wasn't dry and it smelled good which is funny because I thought it was kinda stinky until I shook the bottle a little bit. I will be purchasing it again.
