Quick Take: good for daily use, smoothing
I recently got asked what shampoo and conditioner I use, because my hair was so shiny. My response was, "Carol's Daughter, of course!" The scent is intoxicating and the product exceeds my expectations every time! I have straight, dirty blond hair, then tends to be oily and this shampoo keeps the levels even and my hair shiny, bouncy, strong, and beautiful!

I just finished my first bottle of this shampoo.
Pros:
-My hair felt nice while using this, but not particularly better or worse than usual
-it doesn't dry my hair/scalp out

-I didn't like the smell
-I found a SLS/Paraben free shampoo at the drugstore for about half the price that works just the same and smells better.

I liked this shampoo, and it didn't cause me any problems. But, since there's a cheaper alternative, I probably won't re-purchase.

All the + reviews got me excited to use this. Sulfate free, wallet friendly, "restores moisture", sounds too good to be true.
After I used this, my hair was REALLY dry, tangled. Even the matching Carols Daughter conditioner didn't help it.
In the end, my hair was frizzier, dryer, and I found way more hair loss in the drain.

For any women who do like actual natural products stay away from this. The smell is synthetic and almost all the ingredients are not natural. It also has SLS just cleverly disguised as something else but is in this.

Quick Take: hydrating, good for daily use
This shampoo is just wonderful. I've had short short hair for a few years and shampoo didn't matter as much, but now I've grown it out past shoulder length and was finding what I used didn't cut it. Love that this is sulfate and paraben free, the smell is amazing (and sticks around for a few hours after the shower), and the price isn't bad for how much I use each time. I'll definitely be getting this again.

After reading reviews, I don't think this product is good on colored hair. I have jet black not dyed, coarse, thick hair. And I have lots of it!!! I use this without the conditioner and it's amazing!!! it smells more of a coconut at first but other rinse starting to smell like vanilla. It leaves my hair soft, shiny, and natural. I have natural hair volume and this brings out whatever your hair is naturally. The smell last to the next day if you don't put other hair product in your hair.

Quick Take: drying
After seeing all of the high rated reviews, I thought this product was going to be great for my colored hair. I have been using sulfate free for a long time and the reviews about the great scent were what initially sold me. I have been using the shampoo and conditioner for almost three weeks now and my hair is not any softer and in fact feels drier now that I have started using the product. Smells great, but doesn't work as advertised.

Quick Take: stripped my hair left it dried out.
The statement "restores natural moisture" "makes hair soft", did Apply when I used this shampoo. Strong smelling, not pleasent and my hair felt hard and was difficult to manage after using this shampoo. I actually want to return it to the store. Not Happy.

I needed a moisturizing shampoo for my relaxed hair and was excited to know that Carol's Daughter made sulfate-free products. It wasn't moisturizing enough, but it is perfect for my son, who has a little Afro.

I have very dry, coarse, thick hair. I've tried everything out there to try and control my hair, but nothing worked - not even Bumble & Bumble, which always gets such great reviews. Nothing worked, that is, until I tried this shampoo. My hair is now smooth (without a greasy buildup) and manageable. I was not expecting a shampoo to help my hair to be manageable - I've never experienced that before - but it truly is. This shampoo is so luxurious and moisturizing, I can't imagine needing the conditioner (but I'll bet that's wonderful, too!). Bottom line: Buy this shampoo. It's reasonably priced, and works miracles.

The shampoo cleanses gently, and it smells good, but the smell doesn't linger as a shampoo with sulfates does. It's a trade off. Some things that I have noticed since I began using it, is that my ends look more moisturized. When I straighten or curl my hair, the time it takes has greatly reduced due to it being more manageable and not as frizzy as it is with other shampoos. I wish it were larger, that's my only complaint.

I was so excited about getting this shampoo and conditioner after reading all the reviews. but....after using it 3 times im not a fan. I felt like it left this weird build up on my hair, like i never completely rinsed it out. And it left my hair dryer and frizzier then before i washed with this product. The only thing i like about this product is the smell, it really does smell amazing. And i did notice less hair shedding.
My hair is fine but i have A LOT of hair. I have ombre hair, so color treated on the roots to mid shaft and bleached on the ends. So really liked the fact that it was sulfate free to keep my color and moisturizing to help lock in the color and keep my hair growing long. Oh well, I'll see if i can return it or its to the boyfriends side of the shower with all my other handy down hair products lol

Vanilla? I smell no vanilla or any other desirable scent for that matter. I purchased the shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner. None of them smell like vanilla. Shampoo did lather, that is only positive I have. Bottles are not worth price point, no way no how.

I have curly, very dry hair naturally that i've kept short for years because every time I would try to grow it out it would be a frizzy, fried, disgusting mess. I finally did some research and discovered my sulfate shampoo was what was murdering my hair, so I decided to try this shampoo out. I am so so SO impressed! It makes my hair soft and clean, but unlike other sulfate free shampoos I've tried my hair feels clean yet doesn't make my hair feel stripped. I spent a weekend at my boyfriend's and showered with sulfate shampoo, and my hair was nasty and dry and frizzy. When I can't go a weekend without a product, I KNOW I love it! Absolutely love this product, on my second bottle with a third stocked in my closet so I never have to be without it!

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because I'm still getting used to the sulfate-free formula. This shampoo smells great and cleans my hair while still leaving it INCREDIBLY soft. I live in Louisiana, where it is humid year-round, so frizzies are a major concern. After using this shampoo, I don't have to worry about that!

I would use this shampoo even if I wasn't satisfied with how it cleansed my hair just because it smells so good. Thankfully, this shampoo does a great job at cleaning my hair. I guess my hair is pretty normal but because it is "fine" it does gets oily easily so I wash my hair every other day usually. This shampoo is moisturizing but not heavy. My hair doesn't look greasy on the second day. Kudos for that! I will definitely buy this again and have been recommending it to all my friends.
