Quick Take: none of the above
This bottle is better than the other Sephora brand I purchased but this one barely goes on my lashes. The bottle is not dried out, but the wand does not lengthen or thicken. Again, bargain sale price could be the reason it's not so great. At least it doesn't clump like the other.

I have (what I consider) long eyelashes but they are very, very sparse.
I think the mascara itself is a pretty good product, it blackens the lashes and thickens them and lasts the whole day without smudging to give me raccoon eyes.
But it was kinda awkward for me to add more than one swipe because my lashes would clump. I think the way the clumped was actually quite nice, into a nice sort of flutter. But because I have such sparse lashes, I had like five of these fluttered lashes sticking up.
Also, I thought it was rather quick to dry which is nice unless I wanted to add another swipe.

Also, at the corners of my eyes are really, REALLY short lashes that are impossible to swipe without getting anything on my upper eye lid. The wand didn't quite help me to get to those tiny lashes at the corners of my eyes.
However, I don't have a lot of experience with other mascara products so I cannot say much about "how well it holds a curl" because even eyelash curlers curl my sparse lashes weird. And I do not have much to compare with but I hope this review is helpful nonetheless.
All in all, I actually do like the product, I just have to adjust things after I've applied it (unclumping some of the lashes apart because I have sparse lashes!).
In the picture I've uploaded; it's only the mascara. You can kinda tell that there isn't much going on in the outer corner because I practically applied nothing in that area (I couldn't without it being a giant mess). And I've also unclumped some so it fans out a bit more.

I bought this on sale for $5! Would I buy it again? if it is for $5! Yeah! For $15? Probably not. And not because it's not worth it but because I don't wear makeup enough to go through it before it goes bad and look at my lashes! I can use the product everyday and still not be able to use it all up before the product expires.
Maybe I just have weird lashes. (:

Mascara GREAT!!/Comb applicator - NOT!!

The mascara it's self is great!!! but I didn't care for the comb applicator. It is too small and doesn't seem to assist in lengthening lashes or application. I would love & probably rate this mascara higher if it had a brush instead of comb.

I love how much length and volume I get from this product. The brush bristles are so firm it separates my lashes so they never look clumpy. Everyone always compliments my lashes when I wear Atomic Volume

Best mascara yet!

My friend got me started using this mascara a few years ago. I always had trouble with mascara smudging if I used it on my bottom lashes. This does a pretty good job not smudging. A sales girl told me they were discontinuing this when I last bought it. Is that true? I hope not!!

This is not the Atomic Volume I remember, nor the same that I've used in the recent past--it was clumpy and it flaked off after only a couple of hours. I had gotten it for a really important date...I wound up looking a hot mess with mascara flecks all over my cheeks; so I'm thinking it was an old batch or something. I really hope that was just the case, because I used to love this mascara so much!

This stuff is pretty good for 5 bucks. Nowadays department store brands are at least $8-10 so I think it's a real good bargain. The formula could be a bit better, it's a little dry, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. But, the wand is nice and it seems like you get a lot in the tube. I also noticed with a few coats that it made my lashes look really volumized. Good job Sephora!

Quick Take: surprisingly fantastic
I purchased this mascara because it was on sale for only $5! I thought to myself, it's worth a try for $5. I did not expect it to be as good as it is! It goes on very smooth, does not clump and doesn't come out all wet and gooey. What a wonderful product. I usually use Sephora Outrageous volume mascara, which I love, but now I will have to purchase both kinds!

I usually buy the Lash Plumper and LOVE it, but I took a chance on this and am hugely disappointed. It is very clumpy and difficult tofix. Guess I should've gone with the old motto, "If it ain't broke..."!

This mascara is great if you want volumlicious eyelashes. It goes on well and stays on a little too well. I can never get it off at night and I actually only apply it once and it lasts through face washes and showers. It tends to clump though so I have to use a second smaller brush mascara to unclump it.
