Surprisingly drying

I used the cleanser very sparingly- less than a pea size for my face and massaged with water as a cautionary practice, after reading other reviews complaining about it drying out their skin. At first I was happy with the results. The scent was not too strong, and I swear it made my skin glow, felt clean and removed dirt and grime my purity foaming cleanser does not. However, I was disappointed when my face was getting dry patches on my cheeks and nose. I have never gotten dry patches from a cleanser before, even after moisturizing several times. This is NOT a gentle cleanser and should be labeled for oily skin. Beware for those who have sensitive non oily skin.

This face wash is just the tiniest bit foamy, very very gentle, and washes off even my eye makeup with little irritation to my eyes. It leaves my face feeling extremely refreshed, no tightness whatsoever. Literally the only bad thing is the scent or lack thereof- be sure to smell in the store or try a sample if you're iffy about it.

Quick Take: calming soothing removes makeup gentle
This cleanser is wonderful and it calmed my sensitive skin after a bad reaction to D&G's perfect finish powder foundation.
This cleanser comforted my skin and nerves and cleared me up and while removing makeup without harsh removers.

I use this with my clarasonic brush. It has a nice silky texture which lathers fairly well. Seems to remove makeup well, however I find I have to use an eye makeup remover in addition to this at times. The scent can be a little strong but doesn't seem to irritate my combination sensitive skin. My skin feels clean and soft, not dry and tight after use. I like that it is packaged in a tube, and the twist cap dispenser is nice, but there is a small amount of cleanser that will drip out when twisting the cap closed.

I have been using this face wash for a few weeks now with the kate somerville toner with great results. My skin is normal/dry with the occational breakout but was breaking out more than normal so I figured I'd try something new and my skin has never been better. After one or two inital skin-clearing-breakouts I have had zero blemishes and softer more glowing skin. Smells great. Worth the money since the product will last a while - only need a little at a time. Worth a try!

Yes, like you! I've tried cleansers in the $90 range and this one is hands down the best. I spare no expense for skin care. I have a "ruddy" complexion and this product really helps with the oiliness and dryness. I also love her oil free moisturizer . I'm in my 50's and has had acne all my life. So scaring is a problem. The two products combined have made a vast improvement . I even worked for a well known skin care line in my 40's. very expensive. And KS is priced right for the quality products. I use my Clarisonic only 2 times a week but this cleanser is terrific alone as well. My teenage daughter love the detox cleanser. BTW: this is my first review EVER. I'm just that pleased.

I really like this cleanser! It removes my make-up and eye make-up without irritating. I found really good results using it with the rest of the Kate Somerville skincare products. I also like the packaging with the twist open cap. I find it very beneficial using it with my clarisonic brush.

Used with other Kate Sommerville Products (esp her ExfoliKate and Mask- the sensitive skin ones for me b/c I have sensitive skin) your skin will be very clean!! You must use just a little bit, as instructions say to, otherwise you'll dry out your skin.

I bought this to use with my clarisonic because I wanted something gentle and nothing that would be too abrasive and harsh on my skin. I have only been using it a few weeks, its nothing amazing but it does exactly what it says. Gentle and gets the job done. It smells great and a little goes a long way. Has not broken out my skin but also hasnt really improved it either.

I have been breaking-out for no reason this past 6 months, my solution was to go find products that will help so I started with drug store products it was no use because my skin got really bad breakouts in the end. so I went to Sephore looking for all the product I could get my hands on but those products only helped a little.
I was in the process of returning some of the products: when one of the ladies from Kate Somerville explained that they were having an event and I should try their products I was like I don't have anything to lose. What she recommended and gave me samples for me are: Gentle Daily wash,ExfoliKate Acne Clearing Exfoliating Treatment, Nourish Daily Moisturizer. I have been using those products for about 2 months now and my skin is back now. P.S. you are going to breakout the first week don't worry , that means your skin is clearing out and also the products are costly

This cleanser is nice, removes minimal makeup though. It is great for sensitive skin but if you are looking for an all over facial cleanser that will remove mascara, eye shadow, eye liner then this isn't for you. I use a lid primer before I apply my concealer and before I apply eye shadow and I found that this cleanser does not remove any of it... I would need to scrub and scrub which of course irritates the skin!
However, I do use this wash on days that I go makeup free and I am very happy with it.

Quick Take: foamy, milky, exfoliating, effective
This wash is the absolute best face wash I have ever used. It is effective without the overwhelming smells I have used in other washes. It gets skin truly clean without the need for a gritty or coarse texture that is found so often in other best-selling facial washes.
