purchased the anemone color...not exactly what i was looking for but i ended up liking the color anyways...its a lightpink/taupe-ish color....very smooth and easy to line your lips~ planning to purchase other colors in the future~ only problem i have is that it breaks easily after sharpening b/c its so smooth! must be gentle with it~ and yes...the brush is stiff and doesnt really work well...also...it doesnt really last long for me...maybe 3-4 hours max before i have to reapply again but i dont mind~

Quick Take: provides great definition, non-drying, camouflages tiny lip lines, adds a beautiful "pout"
The color I purchased was Anemone & it is exactly what I had hoped for; will accent the beautiful glosses this summer. Texture good but I wish it had more lasting power.

I love this lipliner! The pencil goes on smooth and doesn't tug on your lips while you draw it on! I would refer it to a friend. Also love the colors!

This lip pencil goes on very smooth and stays on well. It is very matte. Not shiny or glossy. The Rosewood color is actually more brown in color. Thought it would be rosier. It is pretty though and I just put a light pink gloss over it and that works great.

I got the red color & used for first time yesterday. Didn't realize the lip brush would be so stiff. But color looked great on my fair skin. I did use the brush too. Stayed on 2-3hrs..but didn't last through my steak dinner. I did reapply & looked as good 2nd time.

Quick Take: creamy, vibrant
I have only used this a few times, but really like it so far. Goes on well and seems to stay. Some people were complaining about the brush, but it doesn't seem to be a problem for me. It is like any makeup/ paint brush, you just need to clean it first and then you're set to go. It blends the color well so you use even less. I am sure it will last quite awhile. It looks nice alone and under other lip products. Does transfer but doesn't seem to smear all over my face. I plan to get other colors. Think the wear time is a few hours.

Nice liner but not an orange tone

I ordered Shiseido's Smoothing Lip Pencil in Tangelo, because it was one of the few lip liners in the orange spectrum. While the liner is nice, the color is not orange. At best, it is a salmony-pink.

Quick Take: wonderful, not dry
I bought RS303 Mauve and I love the color and the pencil itself. Very moisturizing doesn't feel dry on the lips. Sometimes I use lip pencils under lipstick and sometimes under gloss.
Love love love Shiseido brand.

Long Lasting Liner

Once I asked a woman that worked at MAC if lip liners make an impact on the lipstick shade. She quickly said no and moved on to work with someone else. I had never used liners before so I almost believed her, until I tested these with the newly purchased lipsticks from Shiseido. I ended up buying these:
* RD 609 - Chianti: this is a nice red that can be worn in a number of ways. (1) on its own as a nice natural bright red, (2) with an intense red lipstick to avoid feathering, and (3) mixed with BR 702/Almond Pink to give it a nice pinkish hue beneath.
* OR 310 - Tangelo: a very reddish orange shade that I purchased to create a coral shade when mixed with the same BR 702/Almond Pink. It gives a nice beige orange combo.
* RD 702 - Anemone: the perfect lip liner for every single shade of life! Gives a perfect shape to lips and hides any imperfections that dark spots/acne scars can leave behind on the edges of lips.
* BR 706 - Rosewood: a nice soft brown that can be used lightly to line around the lips and give a fuller look with any color, OR a perfect liner to use generously with RD 514 - Dragon, to create a 1920's red lipstick perfectly.
Overall these liners are nothing like I have read on the reviews with "difficulty in usage and application" and "terrible and stuff brush." After using each one, I find that they are very smooth and super easy to apply. The brush is perfect at softening the super straight edges created. I don't really think I have any complaints! Oh! And they last last last last. From 9am and throughout lunch and the workday, I find that the liner lasts even longer than the lipstick! Nice :)

I agree with a previous reviewer who said that you have to press hard to apply this. While I love the color, a perfect medium on-trend orange, it takes a lot of effort to get the product to look the way I want it to. I find the brush incredibly stiff and useless, as I use this pencil alone or with a touch of clear gloss for shine. I wouldn't buy this in another color. I've used other pencils that are much softer and more pigmented than this one.
