great today, gray tomorrow - 08.22.09
Quick Take: pleasent to use but no staying power

I fully intended to write a great review but in truth I was disappointed when after 3 shampoos (and I use a very high-end cleanser, color friendly) the grays were back! I am only about 10-15% gray. I followed directions to a T but no staying power. Otherwise I think it is much nicer to use than other at home color. No toxic smell. Does not drip. Color is initially darker, but as box showed after a few washings...except there are gray hairs, and I only color to hide the gray.
Totally bummed. :(

Where is the Shine??? - 08.11.09
Quick Take: no shine/luster, too expensive, enough color for medium legnth hair

I just finished coloring my hair with (Medium Golden Brown) and the color came out dark which I don't mind as much as the fact that the color is dull. It has no shine! I get better color with hair color from Loreal "perfect 10." If this was your normal 10 dollar box i would say it's OK but for the amount of money I spent I am totally dissatisfied.

FABOOSH!!! - 08.01.09
I have been coloring my hair at a salon since I was 20yrs old. It's a semi-permanent glaze and I love it because it's very shiny and easy on my hair...but now that I'm in my mid thirties, I need a permanent color for the grays. Three years ago I decided to try an at home color from the drugstore, needless to say, I swore I would NEVER use at home color again because my hair felt like hay for the first time in my life! I tried this and LOVE IT! It's just as good as my salon color, all glossy and it's permanent! Covered grays and so so shiny!

Beautiful color, funky application - 07.24.09
Quick Take: high quality, difficult ot use, expensive

The results of this kit were extremely shiny beautiful DARK brown hair. Unfortunately I purchased medium brown. Unlike others, my extremely processed hair was soft and shiny from first styling. Color has not faded and remains after 5 weeks. I found the brush application very difficult to accomplish with out assistance. I put it in a bottle to apply to the back of my head. The price is steep, compared to other products I have used, and I have purchased the conditioner to use with less expensive color product.

Love the Product... - 07.13.09
Quick Take: very good.

I have medium brown hair a little longer than my shoulders. I chose Jaclyn 6N light brown due to not knowing how the darker browns would come out. I was very satisfied with the color, shine, and coverage.
(it definitely covered all my gray if you apply it correctly) Product was very easy to use and there was plenty of color in the one box to cover my thick hair.
REQUEST- I want to see some paint on hi-lights that are easy to use. Please work on this for next introduction.
Thank you Frederic and Sephora for carrying.

Great product... - 07.13.09
I have naturally dark brown hair with reddish highlights. I used to put caramel and red highlights in via my stylist. But when she moved out of state, I had to try unsuccessfully to find someone as good. Due to a bunch of horrible dye/highlight jobs, I had to dye my hair into a dark brown. I tried Jaclyn (I liked the color, plus it's how I spell my name!) but the color on the box only colored my roots, not the rest of my hair. So, I have about 2 inches of Jaclyn and the rest of my hair to my collarbones in still dark brown. I would recommend using this if you have lighter hair. I have grey (more like pure white), and it covered the vast majority of it. I only noticed a few white hairs that were tinted with the Jaclyn color. Love how it made my hair feel. And instead of using the bowl and brush to apply, I mixed the color using the bowl and brush, but scooped up the color out of the bowl and applied well with my gloved fingers. It turned out great! The smell isn't over powering and my hair is soft and touchable. And the weekly conditioner is excellent!!! My bf loves it! I would highly recommend!

Not enough product for thick, long hair. - 07.02.09
I have thick, shoulder length hair and has 50% gray hair. One box alone is not enough color all my hair. I have to stop and just color my roots without covering all my hair. It is too expensive to buy 2 boxes especially if you do not need extra brush and bowl. The used Medium golden brown and it came out darker than it used to be. I wish they just the hair color without the brush and the bowl.

Over priced - 06.22.09
Quick Take: pricey

Pros:
-Cindy was a nice color, but when using on dark hair it only lightens it a bit.
-Conditioner is great (but you can buy the technician line seperate from this kit and get a full size bottle).
Cons:
-Way too overpriced. Basically the gimmick for this product is the brush and bowl and the pre-treatment. Basically the pre-treatment is like a protein filler you put in your hair before you dye it. *You can buy a protein filler at sally's beauty supply for 6 dollars (has about 10 uses for medium hair) and a 10 dollar box of herbal essences and get the same results.
-The smell was too strong for me. I normally use herbal essences which smells way better than any hair dye I have ever bought.
-Difficult to use the brush and bowl technique by your self.
-I tend to like hair color that is more runny cause it gets through all the hair quicker

*****Verdict: Definitely not worth 30 dollars. Go buy a protein filler and herbal essences hair dye to get better results at half the price

Yes the colour was MUCH darker than I had hoped for. I used Medium Golden Brown and it has turned my med-dark brown hair a rich dark brown with a red highlight that can be seen in direct sunlight.

BEST DO IT YOURSELF! - 06.17.09
Quick Take: great

I used the Fekkai conditionar prior and I thought it really made a difference on my hair. So when I saw the hair coloring products I had to try it and I was really pleased with the results. It covers the gray and the shine is unbelievable! It has been 5 weeks and the color is still in excellent shape. My friends and co-workers are amazed!

Darker Brunettes BEWARE!! - 06.15.09
Quick Take: much darker than indicated, excellient gray coverage, leaves hair soft

First, I love the product...BUT...

BEWARE!! The brunette colors are darker than is shown on the box or what their name portrays.

I have naturally dark brown hair with naturally golden and some reddish highlights, but due to emerging gray (more like pure white) I need to color my hair. I have always used 'Dark Brown' in the past with other brands and the results were always rich chocolate / espresso browns. So when I decided to try Fekkai I naturally went for a dark brown.

Because of the mass amount of hair I have I used 2 boxes mixing 'Dark Brown' with 'Medium Golden Brown' to reduce excessive reds that tend to show up but to add some nice golden highlighting and lighter brown highlights as well. (Neighbor is a professional stylist and she advised me on colors to mix).

My hair is now BLACK not dark brown. We are talking JET BLACK!! There are nice golden brown highlights mixed in with the jet black that you can see in the sun, but the black distracts from it.

Hopefully with the amount of time I spend in the garden the black with fade more quickly.

With that said - the gray coverage for my very stubborn white hairs was excellent. Not a single white hair got away - and I had my husband hunt for them.

It also did leave my hair soft, shiny, and manageable. Shiny jet black hair is nicer than dull lackluster black hair.

I will definitely use this product again, just next time I will stay away from the dark browns and stick with the medium and light browns.

Great subtle color. - 05.20.09
Quick Take: easy to use, quick results, smells good

I am of asian decent and I love the color Jaclyn 6N Light Brown on my black hair. It's not too light but its brighter than my black and warms up my face. When I am inside it looks darker but when I am outside in the sun, my hair just glows. I didn't want a drastic change in hair color but wanted to go a little at a time. This color is great on me. Perhaps I will go one shade lighter next time and try Cindy 6W Light Golden Brown for a lighter color. This kit is easy to use and the results still turned out great, even though I asked for my boyfriends help doing the back of my head. A major plus is that it does not have a strong a scent as those awful drugstore brands.

Great color - 05.17.09
Quick Take: easy to use

I love this color! I'm so glad Sephora is carrying this now. I am about 30-40% gray and it covers beautifully. It goes on smoothly and smells great. I color my hair about every 6-8 weeks but only because my hair grows fast, not because it fades. I love the brush and bowl application instead of a bottle. Makes it easier to cover all your hair.

OK, but not terrific... - 05.16.09
Quick Take: easy to use

The smell is good and the packaging and directions were good also, but I am about 10 percent gray and it didn't cover all the grays and the ones that it diid look like if I wash three times they will be gray again too! If it doesn't cover the gray then I guess it's really no use to me. I'm bummed because I like to color at home but store bought doesn't cover the gray. Maybe I will try one more time, not sure. The other poster was correct, its a little darker than other colors I have used from a box.

This is the best color in a box! I use Juliet and it is awesome. The color lasts for 3 months and does not get brassy. Colors the gray. Super easy to use and makes your hair super soft.

Truly Amazing Salon Color! - 04.30.09
Quick Take: multi-step

I really like this product by Frederic Fekkai. It actually smells wonderful and leaves your hair feeling softer than before use. It includes a pretreatment before coloring so not to damage hair that may already be colored. It does a great job of covering gray hair. Be forewarned that the darker shades-Brunettes may be darker than color on box. But after a few shampoos, color is amazing. Price is a little steep, but compared to a professional salon color, with same results, this is still a better deal.
