Got Orange Roots!- 11.11.09
I really didn't like this product AT ALL. Not only was it expensive, but it left me with orange roots...not what I wanted to see from an auburn. Not only that, but the chemical smell when I went to rinse the color out was overwhelming. Would have returned it for a refund, but I was busy having my hair recolored at the salon...

Quick Take: true to what it offers
My hair feels great after I colored it my stylist says my hair is healthy and did not critize me because I home colored it, so that is good, the color shines and is still soft.

The colour is really beautiful, and true to what's advertised on the box. I had a bit of trouble with the fact that it took to my roots a fair bit more than to the rest of my hair, but that's because my hair has been previously dyed. Also, I attempted to do it on my own, and next time will get some help from a friend. Still, I'll definitely be using this one again.

Everything is included- Does not smell like"chemicals" is pleasant and easy following directions. The conditioner lasts for a lot of applications after the initial use at the time of coloring. It is very rich.

Quick Take: high quality, easy to use
This was the first time I colored my hair at home and I will definitely use this to color again. The product is so easy to use and works just like a salon (smells the same too). Ihave very thick, long hair and was easily able to color my hair alone in about 20 minutes. The color was just what I wanted- subtle, natural looking, very easy, and high quality.

I purchased this because I did not want to spend $125 on a salon done color job. I had never used an at-home color system before, so I figured for $30 if this actually colors my hair a color towards towards the red family then it's definitely worth it. This system worked out great! Some people say that it has a strong smell, definitely not! It smells the same as getting your hair done in the salon. At first, right after you mix the color is when the smell hits you, but give it five minutes and the smell disappears. My natural color is a dirty blonde, so by no means did I expect my hair to turn out like the models. I got a medium brown with a reddish tint. My color has lasted a good three weeks. Whenever you are coloring your hair in the reds, you need to make sure that you rinse with cold water, as red is the quickest to fad (not noted on the box, but I know this from experience at the salon). My hair felt super-soft after doing this treatment and I will be using this product again, but in a different color.

I like the Auburn, it is actually auburn and doesn't give you that purple tint like some at home reds do. It is MESSY and smells much stronger than most at home products, but it does last more like 6 weeks instead of 4. In sum, color is good and lasts, covers greys, but product is messy and a little caustic.

Great product- 09.29.09
I'm probably the rare Sephora customer who doesn't like to splurge on beauty products. If I can possibly help it - especially in this economy - I buy sparingly but will spend for quality. This is the first color product that actually elicited compliments from my regular salon stylist (again, I go to a top salon in my area but go at the longest intervals possible). She - a colorist - said she loved the color and that my hair was in "great condition." So, there you go.: the ultimate endorsement.
I only wish the product came in smaller quantities as a highlighting kit or with an optional highlighting color in an individual kit. As it is, I'll have to buy two different colors at full price. Pardon the pun: foiled again! Oh well, it's (not) just hair color... but really, really great hair color.

Worth the Hype Worth the Price- 08.31.09
Quick Take: the best ever
I have colored my hair for more than twenty years and I can wholeheartedly tell you this is the best color anywhere! I've spent 2.99 for drugstore color up to 200.00 at the best salons but my hair was so shiny, not limp and the color is truly multi-tonal. Can't recommend enough!

I am a red head, and coloring my white hairs (I go straight to white not grey) with this product was very easy. I think that the key is good preparation for shoulder length or longer hair. Make sure that you have a good comb part and that you really use clips to hold your hair. The color saturates well, and the conditioner included is lovely.

I've had trouble with haircolor making my scalp itch. So I tried this. It was very soothing to my scalp and did not irritate at all, and although I loved the color at first, after a week it started to fade very fast, especially at my roots, and I use only non-sulfate shampoos. Was hoping for something better.

Quick Take: thick, non-messy, professional quality
I waited a few weeks to review this product. In my experience, the color was exactly what I expected. Even after 3 weeks of washings the color has held and isn't brassy. Nice thick creme - applies easily and instructions are great - they tell you not only what to do, but often why you should do it. I appreciated that. The color was super thick and easy to apply and not at all messy

Love the color- 06.20.09
This is the most money I've ever spent on hair color and it was worth every penny. The color is totally natural and is lasting longer than I thought it would. I will definitely continue using this product.
