Fekkai hir color- 11.04.09
Put on an old shirt and GO! (some may not need to but I tend to be a little messy) This product is easy to use the directions are simple, and easy to follow. But best of all I love the rich, shiny color!

ehh...- 11.03.09
Quick Take: not great
I have used this product twice and have gotten spotty results. The second time I followed the instructions for the root touch up, and have found the overall color much darker than the first time I used it. The product used in step one - some cream you apply two inches down from the roots - actually seems to give a blotchy uneven result (both times). It is not the worst color I have used, but I am not all that happy with it and will either go back to the salon, or try another brand next.

Beautiful- 10.21.09
Quick Take: great
This is by far the best at home hair color I have ever used. I love how natural my hair looks. After paying over $200 a pop at the salon for years and years I was sick of not being happy with my highlights. I decided to try this all over color. My husband colored my hair for me so I wouldn't have to worry about getting the back and I love the way it turned out especially after washing it a couple of times!

Frederic Fekaii hair de in 6N- 10.18.09
Love this product and this color. Have some gray, and it actually will stay covered longer than if done professionally. Did 5N the first time, and came out way to dark, so look to a lighter shade, but will still be dark when you apply.

I am pretty surprised that this did not work better (although I did spent 2 hours at a fekkai salon getting my hair colored and it didn't fare any better so maybe I shouldn't be) I'd cut a lock of my hair off beforehand so I could compare colors, this dye should've been a good 3 or 4 shades darker than my natural hair. It turned out the EXACT same darkness, it was my same hair only a touch more ashy, and a whole lot less shiny. On top of being dull, it doesn't have any depth, it's all the exact same, none of that " multidimensional color" the box promised. I did not leave it on too long, and followed directions correctly. I found it more of a hassle to use than regular hair dye. Overall I'm really disappointed, but glad so many others are having luck with it.

Jaclyn (6N) great colour - true to the box (darker than what I'd ever call 'light brown' but still beautiful). Easy to apply, no stink, gave amazing grey coverage. Stick with the times on the box - no rushing!

Better results than drugstore brands, but...- 09.07.09
The whole brush-on application thing is a real pain in the butt, and time-consuming - it isn't difficult, just tedious, and I'd much rather squirt a bottle into my hair and be done in thirty seconds. And then when I washed it out, I looked like Wednesday Addams. Okay, maybe not quite, but pretty close. If I'd reviewed this product within the first couple of days after I'd used it, I'd have given it one star.
But then the color lightened up a bit, and I noticed how shiny it was, and how rich the color looked. I have usually had to stick with golden shades because neutral brown dyes tend to come out looking kind of flat on my hair - but not this one. It's been three weeks now, and the shine and the shade are both holding up beautifully - so well that I'm going to keep using the darned stuff. Annoying application process and all.
P.S. Even after the shade lightens up, it's still much more a medium brown than a light brown, but I knew that going into it, so no points off for that. I noticed some of the other reviews complain about the darkness of the shade. Ladies, if you're new to this, be aware of the #1 rule of dying your hair brown (whatever brand or formula you're using): ALWAYS go at least one shade lighter than the result you want. If you truly want light brown hair, don't use a dye darker than dark blonde!

Nice colour, easy to use. Not nearly as shiny as I would have expected though. Darker than the box for the first couple of days but then fades to exactly the right shade. Not Salon colour, but better than your average box.

this was nice- 08.27.09
i liked that it came with a little mixing bowl and a brush, and the formula was creamy. *however* that didnt make it any easier to apply- in fact it took much longer than the usual home brand from the bottle. The results were nice but nothing particularly special- certainly NOT worth the price, in my opinion.

Color last longer, brighter, more lusterious, more pigment than any other drug store hair color. Is pricey considering DIY but definately better than spending $150 for basic coloring at the actual Frederic Fekkai salon

Almost- 08.23.09
I wanted this to replace my salon color, but I'm not sure if it did the trick. The application was easy and even, and the color is beautiful! However, I wish my hair was a bit more shiny and luminous after the color. Still, great for a last-minute color or root touch-up.

Good but not great- 08.22.09
Its not difficult to apply, you just need to be a little savvy with the bowl & brush, and if you're not just get a friend to help. When I initially washed out the color it looked exactly the same as before (my natural color - very dark brown almost black) now after about 2 weeks my hair is starting to lighten up. So I don't know how or why that happens, but it did. The process was really gentle and I don't feel like it damaged my hair at all. Maybe just take a lil extra time in choosing your color!

Works Great!- 08.21.09
I've been coloring my hair for about 20yrs myself and the hair colors I have used always make my hair to dark but Frederic Fekkai hair color didn't It came out pretty much like the color on box and very shinny but I think I will try a shade darker next time. The only down side is the price.

excellent, long-lasting- 08.20.09
Quick Take: fabulous
Before this, I was using cheaper drugstore color, but my hair was getting all dried out and the mid-level brown was always fading to orange. The Fekkai color is beautiful, long lasting and doesn't turn brassy. I love it! It's totally worth the few extra dollars.

Drying!- 08.16.09
This color dried my hair terribly. The color comes out dark but that could be because I have a porous hair type. I compensated for this by choosing a lighter shade.

Overrated- 08.15.09
Quick Take: mediocre, did not color, overpriced, drying
I used two boxes of this product and it only colored my root area and not the rest of my dark brown hair below even though I followed instructions perfectly. The conditioner did not produce miraculous results of after-color conditioning softness like other boxed colors I've tried. Plus the chemicals in the product are still harsher than other more natural alternatives I've tried. I will not try this overpriced product again. You might as well go to a salon for color if you need two boxes. At least you'll have a professional apply your color and do all the work. The product also left my hair very dry after.
