I used to use drugstore color - but my ends became straw-like and too dark - so when I saw an ad for Frederic Fekkai color in a magazine, I thought - pricy, but let's try it (still less than $140 plus for salon color). I had to try a few colors to find the right one - they tend to be a bit dark - but I have found the perfect color for me - Natalie (5W). My ends are soft, not straw-like, and not too dark, probably because of the precolor treatment. It covers my greys and looks really natural (after a couple of washes). I will not use anything else (except the salon).

This is a fantastic product. My hair looked and felt great after coloring with Fekkai. Like many reviewers have stated, the color is darker than the box indicates or the name implies. I wanted a warm dark brown so I went with Natalie 5W. With long hair, I thought the brush method was a little difficult to apply, but the coverage was good. Even after several weeks I still have no sign of fading or dullness. Will definitely use again!

I have been coloring my own hair for quite a few years. I decieded to spend a little extra and buy Frederic Fekkai home coloring kit. I was really glad I did. It was so easy to use, and covered my grays 100%. My hair feels soft and looks so healthy. I would reccommend this product!!!

the color came out great, the sample was closest to my hair and it came out slightly darker with flashes of red in the light!! and my hair was soft!! i had a friend help me because my hair is pretty long... a little past my shoulders. there is not enough product for hair that is longer than i'd say chin length. some greys i couldn't cover cause i was worried that there wouldn't be enough for the length of my hair. my recommendation: pay the extra and have somone do it for you at a salon, rather than make a mess and involve poor friends, and when you go to a salon you'll know that all your hair will be covered no matter what you're length! but if you have short hair get this, it's great!

It didn't change the color on the portion of my hair that was previously color-treated -- only my roots. so that looks a little weird. but it dids make my hair feel a lot nicer that other home coloring products. Frankly I can't wait until I have an actual decent income again so that I can go back to my hair dresser...

my hair is pretty gray - at least my roots are - had been using L'Oreal but had difficulty getting the color to reach the roots along my hairline, and the color faded quickly. The brush makes this product easy to use and effectively covers all the gray. The color was as pictured on the gray areas of my hair, darker over the previously colored areas. Lots of compliments and color has remained true after 4 weeks.

As a former "dye virgin", I always despised the look of obvious box-dyed hair -too brassy, too purple, too dark. However, my hair is naturally a light brown with some natural highlights, and I decided to buy this product mostly because I trusted the name behind it, and I have been curious about changing my hair color just a few shades.. Best decision! The color looked completely natural on me, but so RICH. It warmed up my fair skin and brought out specks of gold in my dark brown eyes that I never knew existed. I got compliments from people, saying I looked full of life, asking how I get that "glow" to my skin. I highly recommend this product -the extra $20 spent compared to the drugstore and the $$$ saved compared to a salon, it's so worth it! And yes, the shine looks as though I just had a professional blowout. I use the post-color conditioner that came with the dye once a week and it makes my hair looks very healthy. The color also lasts for about 2 months. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! The only downside is the strong chemical odor, but it goes away after a day or two.

Good Product but SHADE IS TOO DARK!- 10.06.09
The product itself is great. Easy to use, good gray coverage (I have a few stray strands), no lingering hair dye smell, fabulous conditioner. However, I should have read online reviews before purchasing at the store. I was shocked at how dark my hair turned out! This is NOT medium golden brown! It's more like a very dark brown. The color has lightened up a bit since I first applied it 2 weeks ago, but is still much darker than I expected it to be. Next time I will try a couple of shades lighter.

This is by far the most impressive hair color system. Itt is worth the extra cost. I have had to color my own hair for a few years and it never stayed in (i used the products you mix not in a box) it was messy, just looked bad. One of the reasons I color my hair is for body and I have naturally curly hair and it gives it a better curl. This product made mair hair feel like it was five times thicker and my curl was fab. It is like walking out if a salon so far no fading (4 weeks) LOVE LOVE LOVE

This product is a happy compromise between coloring my own hair with drug store product that makes my hair crunchy, and parting with big bucks to have it colored at the salon. The color is fabulous, long lasting, leaves my hair soft, and you would never know I did it myself!
