Love this cologne!

My boyfriend got a sample of it and really liked it, so I picked up a bottle of it for him because I love it, too! It is a great spring/ summer scent! It's not as spicy or musk as many other men's colognes!

Clean Citrus Scent

This was the perfect choice for a new fragrance for my husband. I have a very keen sense of smell and I'm very particular about the fragrance my husband wears. After trying many in store, this was was selected. He's been using it now for 2 weeks and I love it. The citrus scent is blended well with a clean scent. When I say clean, think laundry. Most importantly, it's not a strong smell and doesn't overwhelm . It's very pleasant because it literally smells clean. I even wore it once and I got compliments from other women! Highly recommend!!

This cologne smells sexy and fresh. My boyfriend and I were at Sephora and its unique bottle caught my eye. I spritzed some on my wrist and loved it so much I bought it for myself! My body chemistry changes the scent of this cologne a little bit so it isn't so woody. It smells earthy and fresh, and I love it. The cologne smells so good, I had to buy it; and I'm a girl!

I would really like this scent, BUT it only lasts for 30 minutes maximum. I give it three stars because it is an amazing citrus scent that is perfect for the summer, beach, island getaway, etc. It would have got 5 if it could last for at least 5-6 hours.
If you like this scent, check out John Varvatos by John Varvatos. It has a similar start, but more spice and a woodsy-leather component.

The fragrance was for my husband whose favourite fragrances are Clinique Happy and Hermes Terre. He says this eau de toilette is a nice scent, but becomes sweet after a while (which he does not like) and doesn't last very long (although that might be due to the fact that it's not pure perfume). Overall, It's a nice gift for those who like woody / citrus scents.

To do this review I decided to read all the other reviews. Those give an accurate description, but words are inadequate to describe a fragrance. I love this stuff and look forward to putting it on anytime. Judging from the number of women who have given comments on this product, it should be apparent that if a man likes it, the woman (women) in his life should like it. This is a versatile fragrance that I hope stands the test of time.... Give it a trial run by all means.

Quick Take: short lasting, clean
I'd love to give this a 5-star review, because it's simply the best smelling fragrance I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot. If you want to hear about that, read all the glowing reviews.
I'm a little fed up with giving scents 5-star reviews when they only last an hour, so I'm going to stop here because I feel like we're blatantly being taken advantage of with this one. Needless to say, this scent is almost immediately gone after just 90 minutes. After 3 hours, all evidence that you were ever wearing it will be gone. It's not my skin, because I own scents that last a good 12 hours, and I've tested this one on other guys, cloth, paper etc... with all the same result.
I even did a little experiment, and pretty much drenched my arms (10+ sprays on each), and asked someone else (because I was probably tolerant to the smell at that point) to see if they could smell it 3 hours later. Not a trace. :/

John Varvatos knows fragrance, both the original John Varvatos and Artisan are both high art of the olfactory senses. For a man...a single man, it fulfills 3 key goals. First, the women you engage with, it makes them say the magic words "I love the way you smell". Check. It stands apart from the great-yet-androgenous fragrances like the best from Armani and Paco Rabane because it is undeniably masculine without crossing over into musky cheesiness. You want her to love your scent, not want to wear it herself. Check. Last, most girls can't place it. They just can't. That makes you a bit mysterious since it is clearly not some junk from Wal Mart, but they haven't a clue what you're wearing. Check...mate. Buy this, but be wary, the real money of this fragrance are in the middle notes. Put it on before you go out, don't expect the morning application to carry you all day. It's at it's very best those first 3 hours...which is perfect for a Friday night out.

Quick Take: not for the young. sorry "dudes".
I made 3 trips to the store to test and to "walk" the samples of all JVs they had. I hesitated between Artisan and Artisan Black but at the end got this cologne and am completely happy with it. I was looking for more of a complex sounding smell for my hubby. I'd say this cologne is not for a young fella, but for a rather mature man, older than 40, i'd say. It has a very deep beginning, but it opens up beautifully and toward the end it sounds almost fresh. I love the intrigue about it, it just keeps you guessing about it. I also like Artisan Black very much, but it was a bit fresher than i wanted it to be. Love it! Interesting, not very common yet and absolutely delicious!

This is a wonderful, citrusy without being too feminine cologne for a man. It smells good the whole day, unlike alot of men's fragrances which seem to only linger for a few hours. If anything, even in a hot climate like Texas, it smells better later in the day!

This is my new favorite cologne. Its been a number of years since I've had a cologne. This is a very clean, light, citrusy scent. Its an excellent blend of ingredients. The bottle is really nice too. Feels solid in your hands.
